Here's something based on a very recent dream! From June specifically.
Imagine a setting like if Kowloon Walled City wasn't an overcrowded unpleasant shithole, but still had that cozy mess and grime to it, and instead of mostly grey, the majority of buildings were a pleasant shade of peach, with plenty of potted plants decorating the narrow paths, streets, and houses.
It was a nice and sunny day; I was either traveling somewhere, or trying to hide, and this place was my stop. I found a lil inn very hidden in one of the narrow alleys and asked for a room there. The owners - two women with a neutral but pleasant disposition - said they only had two rooms, and both were taken, but I can take the [some sort of special hideout room] that was hidden behind a fake-wall-door - free of charge. They also warned me that it's very small and there's someone already staying there, but there are two beds.
One of the owners hit a wall behind her desk, and a narrow section of it swung ajar. Inside, there was a very cramped and dim corridor with at least two turns, and a dirty, faded, yellowish wallpaper all over it. The hidden room was maybe 3x4m at most, covered in the same wallpaper. It contained one fairly wide bed, one narrower thing that sorta looked like a bed but I had no idea how it was supposed to work, and a chest of drawers with an old CRT TV on it. It also had a window with nice sheer curtains, looking out on a small courtyard.
The larger bed was taken by a very cheerful and friendly girl. She had somewhat short brown hair, wore a big red sweater, white shorts, and in this piece she looks like a dog. :) We spent the day talking, watching TV (which looked like someone playing old Commodore 64 games that don't exist), and generally having a good time. It was a very pleasant and cozy dream - incredibly comforting!
Also the TV set was actually placed where you're standing, but this works too - just wanted to include it For The Vibe. I will also never get over the fact that my brain successfully convinced me that the irrational wooden structure was really a bed somehow. The house-shaped part wasn't just placed on top, nooo, it was part of the whole thing.
Lastly, I also made an exploratory surreal version because I can. :)
Enjoy! :D
