"Low tide"
While he was relaxing in the water of a beach one day, for some reason - just to be mean, as far as he could tell - someone put a heavy rock on Conduit's tail, keeping him from moving... And the tide's going out! He's barely still able to easily breathe, but soon he's going to need to scoop up water into his mouth with his hands, and he knows he won't be lasting long like that. Even now, his breathing occasionally brings in air, making him cough a few times each time. It's just going to be getting worse...
