"Nasir's flooded casting experiment"
Nasir had an odd idea about water magic: If it was easier underwater, how much easier would it get if he were breathing said water? With the help of a friend, he agreed to be held down in a lake to test it out. The process wasn't exactly pleasant, but Nasir eventually started drowning, his friend continuing to hold onto him... Until his struggles slowed to a stop, the bird regained his composure, and his friend let go to let him try his magic.
And, it worked! ...Sort of. Despite his near inability to focus while waterlogged, Nasir was able to use his magic with only slightly more difficulty. Apparently being in the middle of drowning was making a fairly big difference! It still wasn't particularly useful, especially given how unpleasant it was to be in that state, so he was glad he wouldn't have any reason to do it again. He continued experimenting while he could though, thankful for his wand's enchantments helping him stay awake longer; he certainly would've passed out without getting the chance to cast anything if it weren't for that.
