Ratthew, my beloved~ 😻🐾 This is the first time I've drawn a "sequel" to a fanart piece of a character I've drawn before, and the first time I've finished a drawing so soon after finishing another one.
... I don't draw much u-u
So I wanted this one to look extra special (ignore the misshapen pawpad right in your face >~<). I had to reference my previous Ratthew drawing to make sure I kept his design in my style consistent, something I've not really considered before when not working with my own OC and his ref sheet.
I also experimented with the lighting and shading for the first time. I tried different colors and different blend modes for the shading and countershading. Not to mention, I wanted to do something interesting with the post-processing that I also added in Procreate.
Lastly, I chose this aspect ratio because this whole piece was because I wanted to make myself a Ratthew wallpaper for my phone -w- There is also a version without the post-processing effects for a clearer view of Ratthew's paw =O'ω'O= If you want to use these as your own phone's wallpaper, feel free to!
