I wanted to draw Ratthew.
I wanted to draw something for "Pawgust".
I ended up doing both at the same time! ^-^

I can't believe just how well this turned out, especially after I hadn't drawn in WAY too long >~< Inspiration and motivation definitely come from weird places and at weird times; I'm just happy I actually finished it -w-

Slowly, Ratthew is shimmying his way through the vents directly into my heart -w-
I don't know why he's so cute, but I have him to thank for breaking me out of the long-standing art block that's been preventing me from drawing anything for... I don't even know how long... over a year, almost two now, I think. That doesn't sound like a problem for people who don't draw... but that's the thing... I've been WANTING to draw. I've been having the urge to draw something, anything, but nothing has ever come out of that desire. Until now!

I am extremely happy with how the pawpads turned out on this one! Finally, I've put all my years of paw inspection to use!
I also added some slight bloom to it to help it pop some more.
Originally, I was going to go for... literally any head pose other than looking at the viewer, but I quickly realized that was the only logical pose for him -w-
The overall pose of the piece, I am absolutely ecstatic that I was actually able to capture the vision I had. I tried many times to capture this sort of Dutch angle that I wanted, and it was so difficult... I actually almost gave up. But Ratthew... ❤️I really wanted to make this happen, and I am so happy I did!
