I understand AJ's reservations. But it's all the more reason why someone like Twi would struggle to fit in. But also I think on some level AJ admires Twi for being able to reach that state. It's something that requires an extreme level of rage, hyperfocus, and desire for catharsis that you are never allowed to have and for the sake of what you believe in are forever forced to deprive.
And that deprivation only makes it grow ever stronger. It's a hunger that is intentionally famished beyond sense, and intentionally disallowed to feast unless feasible. AJ denied her feast, but I think on some level Twi appreciates her for it but is still starving to truly let loose.
Hopefully when the time comes for her to finally let loose she will be able to avoid dealing the finishing blow on her own.
I also really loved this sequence of events. It's great seeing just how observant and analytical Twi is and how much she tries to avoid impulsive decisions in the heat of the moment until she's ascertained the situation. She's extremely skilled.
