I keep finding myself mired in this way. It hurts more acutely, the harder I want to create.
Every time I learn and grow, it feels as if I meet myself with the stubbornness and apprehension to match.
Still, I'm determined to see this through. I'm not yet sure how, but I don't see this working out any other way.
I'm aware of the irony of making art to express an inability to make art, but this is a form of therapy that's free and available to me; so I'm going to continue using it.

I'm no artist, but this is a pain I've felt when writing- the more important I feel something is, the stronger I feel about it, the more vulnerable I feel to that same dread and freeze. I can want so badly to write something down, but the moment I sit down to write, the words stall in my head, my blood runs cold, and I feel that immediate sense of anxiety and dread that comes with an impending sense of rejection. I hope you can find a good method for processing through those feelings, or at least a person you trust and love to talk them through- you're a wonderful artist, and you deserve to be able to do the things you enjoy without feeling bound up in dread.
