Bloons' Little Snack
By Sokz
Pat, pat, pat, Bloons' soft, rounded feet padded along the dirt path as she walked. Bird Pokemon chirped around her in the bushes and in the branches of nearby trees, while a group of Digglet made their way underground, leaving mounds of dirt to mark their passage before popping up for a moment, looking around, then disappearing back into the earth.
She loved these types of days. They were so fun to hop around, relax, and take in all the rays of the warm sun. This was a well-traveled path, and she knew she wouldn't run into any nasty Pokemon, like the Ursaring that sometimes prowl the forest and yell at anyone who comes into their territory. Most of the big and scary Pokemon stayed deeper in the trees, where they didn't have to fight all the trainers and travelers that went between the two closest towns. Bloons paused as she came to an area where the trees parted enough for her to see the looming mountains nearby. She didn't know its name, but she loved to stare up at its snow-covered peak whenever she was given the chance. There was just something about the astounding size of that pile of stone and earth that mesmerized her and set her mind in motion. She wanted to climb its peaks, reach the top, and then finally look down at all the little Pokemon scurrying through the ground.
Some days, when she was in a daydreaming mood, she imagined what it would be like to be a mountain. Nothing bigger than you, nothing that could threaten you, with all the power in the world. Your mere existence changed wind currents and altered the shape of the world. Just thinking about it gave her goosebumps. Though she knew she'd never be the size of a mountain, climbing it one day was a real possibility. Once she was strong enough to beat up all the mean ice types near the top, she'd give it a try.
Her belly gurgled, distracting her from the fantasy of the mountain. One day, she'd set off on a trek to the top, but for now, her main mission was to find something tasty to eat.
She kept on the path for a little while, scanning the bushes and underbrush on the side of the road for anything that could make for a good snack. Berries would be best, but she'd settle for a tasty herb, or even one of the Pokesnacks one of the trainers might have accidentally dropped.
Bloons paused as she saw something resting in the center of the road. It wasn't anything edible, but the beautiful color and the soft material were just as interesting. She hopped over to the ribbon and picked it up, careful not to damage the wonderful bow.
It was beautiful! The soft white color shimmered in the sun as she moved it, and the quality was beyond anything she could recall. This wasn't a normal bow, it was an item made by a master!
Bloons looked around, but there wasn't anyone within eyesight. If a trainer or Pokemon dropped it, they were long gone by now. With a smile, Bloons tied it in a bow on her head, then gave a pleasant twirl. The edges of the ribbon followed her like wisps of clouds. This was the best find ever!
Another gurgle in her tummy reminded her of her mission, especially since her hunger was suddenly much stronger than before. She had to find something quick.
She continued along the path until she found a few broken branches leading deeper into the forest. She sniffed around the base of a few trees, followed footprints in the dirt, and discovered a secluded grove full of berry bushes.
It was perfect! There was a nice mix of berries, with Cheris, Chestos, Pecha, and Aspear berries abundant and a few rarer types sprinkled throughout. She'd be able to eat as much as she wanted.
She hopped toward the nearest bush, plucked a Pecha berry from the stem, and bit into it. The lovely, sweet flavor erupted on her taste buds as she chewed, swallowed, then took another bite.
Berry after berry entered her mouth and soon slipped into her belly. No matter how much she ate, she couldn't satisfy herself. Usually, she could only eat three or four berries before her tummy felt like it was going to burst, but now she had eaten five and she didn't even feel close to full.
She kept eating, plucking Chesto berries and Cheri berries without pause, until a small Pokemon leapt from the underbrush and landed on the berry she reached for. The tiny Wurmple hissed as she pulled her hand back. Apparently, the tiny bug Pokemon lay claim to this bush, and it wasn't too happy about Bloons taking a snack from it.
Bloons frowned. Taking orders from a Wurmple seemed silly under normal circumstances, but it was even truer for this little squirt. Even by Wurmple standards, it was tiny. Or... was the bush tiny? As she looked around the clearing, she realized everything seemed a bit smaller than it should have been.
But that didn't matter. She was hungry, so she was going to grab whatever berry she wanted! She reached for the snack again, and the Wurmple responded with an attack! It leapt at her with every intent to use Tackle, but she was prepared.
Bloons grabbed the Wurmple a moment before it made contact. It wiggled around in her hands, struggling and squirming in annoyance. She watched it for a few moments and noticed a bit of berry fluid dripping along its body. The pesky thing must have gorged itself on berries and covered itself in their juice!
It gave her an idea. She brought the angry Wurmple closer to her mouth, opened wide, and tossed the annoying bug inside. It landed with a plop on her tongue, its taste sweet and delicious as it activated all her taste buds. She hummed with delight as she closed her mouth and sucked on the tiny snack, savoring how wonderful it felt.
Then, almost without thinking, she gulped it into her belly.
Bloons stood in wide-eyed shock, stunned by her action. She never even thought about eating another Pokemon before, but now it came so easily and felt so right. It tasted delicious, almost as good as the berries, and she wanted to do it more.
She blushed as she reached for another fruit. Maybe she could try it again later, but only if another bug type was being really harsh and mean to her.
Bloons continued gobbling down berries by the handful. She expected to fill up soon, but the more she ate, the smaller the bushes became, and the more her hunger grew. She kept eating and eating until she reached a point where she grabbed the bush, ripped it out of the ground, and shook it over her open mouth for the berries to fall in. When that wasn't enough, she swallowed the entire bush.
To her surprise, it didn't taste bad at all! She looked at the remaining bushes with a smile. Though they all seemed so little now, they would be amazingly tasty and filling once she gobbled them down. She went to the next bush and ate it, then the next, then the next, then the next after that, until the clearing was emptied.
But she still felt hungry! With a huff, she put her hands on her hips and looked at the forest. Were the trees smaller? They looked like they only came up to her head! And the grass was so tiny that she could barely feel it under her feet, while the bird Pokemon hopping through the branches were the size of insects.
The realization struck her. The world wasn't getting smaller, she was getting bigger! That explained why she was still hungry. No matter how much food she ate, her tummy just grew larger until it was practically empty again!
So, if she wanted to feel full, she'd have to eat a lot of food. Lucky, that wasn't a
problem. She walked up to the nearest tree, kicked its trunk to break it in half, then grabbed the shattered pieces and forced them into her mouth. They crunched and broke as she chewed them into mulch and swallowed them down.
She continued until she was nearly three times the size of the tallest trees, and could eat them with just a single bite. Every step she took caused the ground to shake and Pokemon to flee. When she kicked her feet in front of her, portions of the forest crumbled and were ripped out of the ground. She never felt so massive before.
A tickling feeling spread against her backside, making her pause. With a curious hum, she turned around to find a very angry Ursaring standing in her path of destruction, its face red with anger as it flexed its muscles. Interesting. She always thought Ursaring were big and scary, but this one wasn't even as tall as her foot.
Its claws glowed white as it charged at her, screaming, and delivered what would have been a savage attack against any normal Pokemon. To her, it wasn't even a scratch. It felt like a leaf blew against her skin, or maybe a firm twig.
She tried not to laugh, but it was difficult. This little Ursaring was just so pathetic. It fumbled in front of her as it recovered from the attack, but it didn't have time to make another before she reached down, grabbed it, and lifted it in front of her face.
As she stared at the squirming Pokemon before her, she had only one thought. If that Wurmple was so tasty, what would this guy taste like?
Only one way to find out. She opened her mouth wide, gave Ursaring a good view of the inside, then tossed it onto her tongue. It flailed about as she closed her mouth and sucked on it, moved it around, and playfully chewed it lightly. Then, when she was bored, she swallowed.
It tasted pretty good! If she saw any more Ursaring, she'd have to gobble them down, too.
Bloons never thought a house would taste so GOOD! She smiled as she crunched the walls and foundation, broke apart the furniture and appliances, then gulped it down into her belly. So many interesting sensations and tastes combined inside her mouth. She wanted to eat even more.
People and Pokemon shouted as she took a step through the small town. Once, when she was a normal-sized Jigglypuff, she would have avoided this type of place. She didn't like being around trainers or the busy, fast-paced lifestyle of people. Now that she was giant and could eat an entire house in a single bite, it was a lot more enjoyable.
Streets broke apart as she stepped along the pathway, shattering fences and cobblestone with each shift of her weight. Powerlines snapped as she walked through them, and utility poles were ripped from the ground. It was fun destroying so many delicate little things. She especially loved seeing all the little people and Pokemon dashing through the street. They looked like ants in her path, except with bright colors and interesting patterns. Ants were always so dull. If you stomped on one of them, the others would just carry on their lives as though nothing happened, or they'd just scatter and make it hard to keep playing.
It was a lot more fun to stomp on this group of tiny dorks. She enjoyed seeing them in her footprint as she walked away, some of them dazed, some of them buried under mounds of dirt and mud. People shouted as she kicked through their houses, or grabbed a car and ate it in a single bite. There were just so many fun things to do!
She paused as a gush of water slammed into her belly. It didn't hurt, but it wet her fur enough to notice. A human and a Blastoise stood on the side of the road with scowls on their faces, that same intimidating look most trainers gave when they were up against a particularly strong opponent or challenge. Was that her? Funny, she never drew more than an ``aw,'' from the passing trainers before!
If this little turtle wanted a battle... well, it wasn't going to get one. She was still hungry. She stomped over to the pair, reached down, grabbed them without a fuss, then tossed the duo into her waiting maw without a moment of hesitation. Did that count as a Bite attack? Probably not, but it didn't matter.
She gulped both of them into her belly and felt another minor burst in size. Now to finish off the rest of the town!
As Bloons walked through the countryside, leaving deep footprints and destruction in her wake, she found herself wishing for another town. The last one was so much fun to snack on and obliterate, but it didn't last as long as she wanted. It seemed like it was over before she even began.
The trees, boulders, and stones she swallowed now were fun, but they didn't have that complicated texture. They didn't have the spice of electric wires or that fun battle against rival Pokemon. It was all a little dull. Though she did enjoy stomping and eating the train that passed by her a few minutes ago.
She sighed as she crested the top of a hill, expecting to find more wide open fields with nothing except an occasional farmhouse, or maybe a road if she were lucky. Instead, she found something that made her eyes go wide in amazement. The ground became rocky in front of her, and just a few steps away was a massive pit in the ground, carved out by the humans and their countless machines. It was a mine! And one still in use, by the look of it.
Bloons walked along the service road toward the mine, then easily stomped the wire metal gate to dust. Pokemon in high-vis vests ran away from her stomping paws as she moved toward the edge of the pit. There, she could see the whole of the mining operation, from the huge cranes set up for moving massive piles of earth, to the bulldozers, to the countless earth and rock type Pokemon helping with the excavation. It wasn't a town, but it was just as fun and interesting!
She slid down the side of the pit until she landed at the bottom with a huge THUD. The ground shook, and some tunnels collapsed from the impact, but she didn't pay much mind to them. Her focus was on the titanic crane swinging toward her. Whoever operated the vehicle must have thought that it was a competition for her. She only smiled as it rammed into her belly, the long metal neck bending under the impact.
The whole thing was barely half as tall as her, which meant it was the perfect size to pick up, smash into a smaller and smaller ball of metal, then shove into her mouth. It was a bit hard to chew, but her teeth ground it to pieces before she swallowed.
The rest of the mine operations tried to escape, but they were painfully slow. She stomped through the group of Machoke and Machamp that tried to stop her, and crushed a bulldozer into the ground. She grabbed gigantic earth-moving trucks and tossed them into her mouth without pause, going down the line until she had eaten dozens of them. Then she turned toward the temporary structures where the engineers did their calculation. Signal towers, cement trucks, cranes, digging equipment, it didn't matter what was in front of her, she devoured it all.
By the time she finished, the mine was empty, and she nearly doubled in size. With a delighted smile, she patted her belly, hopped out of the pit, then continued her jaunt toward the horizon.
Pop, pop, pop, a series of explosions detonated against her side as she walked across a forest. She rolled her eyes. This was getting annoying, but every time she swatted these military planes from the sky or sucked them into her mouth, more appeared! They were like a never-ending swarm of bugs. How annoying.
But she couldn't just let them keep pelting her with these slightly bothersome missiles.
She waited until they were directly in front of her, then she inhaled enough to puff up her body. Her energy concentrated, then she let loose an attack that left utter devastation in its wake. Her voice sang out in a huge cone before her, the air billowing from the raw force. Trees were ripped out of the ground, earth was thrown into the sky, flocks of bird Pokemon were obliterated, and the bombers and jet fighters exploded as their internals were compromised. With a single use of her Hyper Voice, she sent a wave of destruction thousands of miles into the horizon. Even some of the nearby mountains crumbled as the sheer force of the attack crashed into their sides.
She made a cute sound as she watched the destruction, surprised at the level of complete obliteration. Usually, her Hyper Voice was strong enough to defeat a low-level Pokemon trainer, or to make an Ursaring think twice about messing with her, but she never expected to destroy mountains with it!
Come to think of it, she was about the size of a mountain now. The realization made her think back to her time as a normal-sized Jigglypuff, and all the times she had looked up at the mountain near her home and thought about being big. Now, her dream was true. She was a titan, a living embodiment of strength, and nothing could stop her.
The realization made her feel bubbly and full of joy! She could do whatever she wanted, from hopping across a forest to eating a small town. She could smack planes out of the sky, eat huge machines, and defeat even the strongest Pokemon.
She was a mountain, and she loved it.
With a smile, she continued forward until she saw a sparkling form in front of her, glistening like a gemstone nestled between a series of huge rolling hills. It was a city! The sight of it, combined with the thought of gobbling down each of those crunchy buildings and sweet-tasting roads, gave her goosebumps. She couldn't wait to have fun with it!
She ran toward the city with abandon, stomping through the suburbs and the surrounding countryside without much of a thought. Houses and roads were obliterated with every footfall, as well as parks, Pokemon, and people, but they were less than insects anymore. She could only make them out if she really tried to look at them, and even then, they were just blobs somewhere below.
The first skyscraper gave her a bit of trouble, but she ripped it out of the ground before too long. She watched as windows shattered and millions of dollars worth of office supplies tumbled from the opening, in addition to countless Pokemon in business suits. She thought that looked funny, but only considered it for a few seconds before shoving the building into her mouth and chewing. It tasted lovely!
She went to the second building and ripped it out of the ground without as much effort. This time, she just tossed it into her maw without pause. Why bother shaking it or letting all the stuff inside fall out? She wanted to taste it all!
The city had so many interesting tastes and textures. Some parts of it, specifically all the structures buried underground, were cold and a little sweet. The electric infrastructure had a fun tingle, while all the metal bits had a lovely metallic flavor that she was absolutely in love with. The brick buildings were less interesting, but they broke apart in such a fun way.
She kept moving forward and eating, growing larger with every gulp. Soon she towered over the largest buildings and crushed entire city blocks every time she moved forward. The cars became dots below her, lost every time she stomped on the streets and crushed them into the ground. Individual people and Pokemon were completely invisible, but she didn't mind. She knew they were below her and in every building she tossed into her mouth, and the knowledge was enough.
The tallest skyscraper in the city didn't want to come out of the ground either, but with a little effort and some back-and-forth motions, she pulled it from its foundation and lifted it to her smiling face. This one had an interesting look. The glass sides had a slight twist in them, and the interior was packed with offices and work areas. She had a feeling she knew what it would taste like, but she was still very interested to try. She opened her mouth and was about to bite down when a huge blast of fire exploded against her back.
With a sigh, she turned around to see what was trying to attack her now. There was a
huge legion of tanks and artillery set up on a nearby hill, all of their guns and missiles pointed toward her. Yeah, that made sense. These people and Pokemon just didn't seem to understand that she was above them now, and that the main purpose of their world was to provide her a bit of fun as she trampled it into the ground and shoved it into her mouth!
She debated how to handle the army as they continued their barrage of harmless projectiles. It would take a few steps to reach them, and then she'd just have to stomp them into the ground before returning to the city. And there wasn't a path already carved to reach them, so she'd have to trample a bunch of tasty buildings. That seemed like a pain.
She glanced down at the mega-skyscraper still in her hand, then smiled as a silly idea popped into her head. With her tongue slightly sticking out of her mouth in concentration, she lifted the building, took aim, then threw it into the air. The tower sailed through the sky until it crashed onto the group of tanks and artillery with a deafening explosion. Dust and smoke were thrown into the air as the sound of snapping metal and shattering glass echoed across the landscape.
When it ended, the army was completely destroyed. Good. With a smile, Bloons plopped onto her butt, smooshed a few buildings, then went back to her delightful snack. One by one, she pulled towers out of the ground and ate them.
Eventually, she grew so huge that there wasn't much left of the city. The buildings were smaller than a single hand's-width, and she had to scoop up dozens of them just to get a good bite. Instead of taking hours to pluck them all one by one, she leaned down until her mouth was only a few relative inches from the ground, then gave the city a huge lick. Countless buildings were smooshed by the motion, but hundreds more were grabbed by her tongue and lifted into the air.
It only took six licks to completely wipe the city off the face of the globe. Not bad, Bloons thought to herself, but she was still hungry.
On to the next city!
Would the military ever leave her alone? It was a question that popped into Bloons' head as she stood on the edge of a massive lake, watching as an armada of super huge battleships fired millions of dollars? worth of ammunition and missiles at her. Each one harmlessly bounced off her skin or detonated without the slightest effect. They weren't even a tickle anymore, she just didn't like all the sudden flashing lights.
She walked over to this part of the world because she was thirsty and wanted something to drink. On the way, she crushed three different cities, obliterated countless suburbs, decimated a small mountain chain, and changed the flow of a river into a marshland hundreds of feet wide. She was so large that cities were small enough for a single lick to consume them. Pokemon weren't visible anymore, even when she squinted and lowered herself all the way to the ground. She was in another world, but these annoying pests just didn't seem to understand.
She could use an attack to wipe out the armada, but it seemed like overkill. Maybe the best thing to do was to just ignore them. She closed her eyes, knelt down next to the lake, then pressed her lips to the surface and began to drink. Every moment, millions of gallons of water poured into her mouth and sloshed around her maw. There were countless water-type Pokemon sucked into the vortex, along with small fishing boats and recreational craft, though she didn't notice any of it. What she did notice was the popping sensation against her inner cheek and the roof of her mouth.
The military boats! She sucked a bunch of them in while drinking water, and now they were attacking the inside of her mouth! It was a funny sensation, and she didn't hate it. If anything, it reminded her of a few times when she found a packet of candy left by one of the young trainers on the road. Those little rocks exploded in her mouth, too!
She giggled as she kept drinking, slowly lowering the water level in the lake until only mud and silt lay at the bottom. With her mouth filled with countless gallons of water, thousands of boats, and maybe millions of Pokemon, she swallowed.
``Ah~'' she sighed as she wiped her mouth. That was such a refreshing drink! Now back to snacking.
There were so many interesting things on the globe! She never realized how many different biomes there were, and how many interesting things were nestled into all the tiny cracks and crevices. She found huge waterfalls cascading down cliffs in the middle of a jungle that tasted sweet when she licked them up. The north and south ends of the globe were packed with snow. Eating some of the mountains and glaciers was like licking an ice cream scoop! The oceans had a funny, salty taste, and each human city was a different mix of textures as she licked them up. She could do this forever, hopping around the planet and licking up all the different things that caught her eye. A glowing mountain made her pause. It rose out of the ocean on a small island just off the coast of a larger continent, its top already blown off as lava leaked down its sides. How interesting! She didn't know what it would taste like, but she wanted to try.
With a happy smile, she knelt down next to the mountain and went to give it a lick. A sudden surge of heat made her pause again. Was something happening? The lava in the caldera began to bubble and glow hotter than before as a tiny, barely even perceptible creature emerged from the depths.
With a powerful yell, the Mega Heatran leapt from the pool of lava and landed on the edge of the volcano! Bloons almost gasped. She had heard stories of this Pokemon before, but never saw one in person, especially a mega form!
As she watched, the Mega Heatran gathered its power and unleashed an apocalypse of magma. Liquid stone and metal erupted from the volcano and covered the surrounding area, turning the sky black while the ocean boiled.
It was interesting, though not that impressive. Even though Magma Storm was one of the most powerful Pokemon moves, it couldn't even leave a mark on Bloon's skin anymore. It was like a tiny bit of ash blowing across her body, or a cinder caught in the air. Nothing more.
When the tiny Pokemon's attack finished, leaving it drained and weakened, Bloons leaned down, extended her tongue, and simply licked the mountain. Its form shattered against the giant pink mass as it was dragged into her maw, lava erupting and spewing in all directions. She expected it to be hot, maybe even a bit painful, but it tasted great! There was a bit of spice to it, but nothing she couldn't handle.
With a smile, she gulped it and the Mega Heatran down.
There really wasn't anything that could stop her now. She was a titan, a god of this world, and there wasn't a single force left that could rival her. The armies could send all the bombs in their arsenal, legendary Pokemon could use their most powerful moves. It didn't matter. She existed above them now.
Her feet left immense craters as she walked across the planet, smooshing entire ecosystems with each footfall. She grew bigger and bigger as she went, until she was the size of countries, then continents, then larger still. Eventually, she became so massive that she leapt off the Earth and floated in the great expanse of space beyond.
But she was still hungry. Her tummy gurgled as she looked at the pale blue planet, now pockmarked by the giant, burning craters created by her footsteps. Why shouldn't she eat it? What was there to stop her?
And besides, there were countless Pokemon who wanted nothing more than to become part of her body. How could she deny them the opportunity to merge with her supreme, perfect existence?
With a final grin, Bloons drifted closer to the Earth, delicately took the ball in her hands, observed its surface for the last time, then let it drift into her open maw. It took only a single bite to break it apart. Liquid magma exploded from its center like a piece of candy, coating her mouth with sweet and spicy flavors. She hummed in delight as she kept chewing, breaking the planet into smaller and smaller pieces until even its iron core was ripped apart. When she was ready, she swallowed everything into her belly, then breamed with pure joy. She ate the entire Earth!
...but she was still kind of hungry. With a hum, she turned toward the nearby stars floating in space. There must be other planets orbiting them, right? Each one was probably as tasty as Earth, or maybe even more so. And then, if she kept growing, she could eat the stars too! Maybe even the galaxy!
She beamed brightly as she set off toward the nearest planet, knowing that soon she would be big enough to swallow the universe. Hopefully, it would make a good snack.
