Character Description

Pakanli is a member of the Sage Rider Tribe, a community that has made its home within the towering depths of the Obelisk Forest. Unlike many who avoid the forest’s lower regions due to the dangers hidden among the roots and shadows, the Sage Riders have learned how to exist alongside the massive ecosystem. Their settlements are built near the forest floor, but they rarely walk directly upon it. Instead, they travel through the use of plant Pokémon companions, riding atop massive vines, sturdy branches, and living platforms grown specifically to carry them safely through the forest’s dangerous terrain. To outsiders, their way of life may seem impossible, but to the Sage Riders, it is simply a matter of respecting the forest and understanding its rhythms.

Pakanli is Choktaw meaning "to bloom"

Pakanli has spent much of her life mastering the relationship between rider and living mount. She is not simply a traveler but a caretaker, ensuring that the plant Pokémon she works with are treated as partners rather than tools. Her bond with them is built on patience and trust, with each journey requiring cooperation between herself and the forest life around her. She has learned that the Obelisk Forest cannot be conquered or controlled—it must be listened to. Every movement through its enormous trees requires awareness, from recognizing which paths are safe to understanding the subtle warnings carried through the plants themselves.

Pakanli has a deep appreciation for the balance between the living things within the Obelisk Forest. She sees the forest not as a place they inhabit, but as a vast community they are a part of. The towering trees, the plant Pokémon that carry her people, and the creatures that dwell beneath the canopy all have roles to play. This belief has made her protective of her home and cautious of outsiders who view the forest as merely a resource to exploit. To Pakanli, the Obelisk Forest is ancient, alive, and deserving of the same respect given to any other member of the tribe.

Though she is skilled in navigating one of the most dangerous environments in the Deep Zone, Pakanli is not a master of the area, as she was born in the Plains region of the Deep Zone.
