Wait, so this means that there are "good" people among the Spawns of Corruption?
DrJavi

That depends on how you define "good".

(Lets pick 45 as an arbitrary age...)

In living to 45 in much a life where one spends the last 10 years living a life of being good to others, even being their leader in being good, though it would bring image other would see one as a "Good person," one still has 30+ years before in being the worst person possible in such actions that can be and often is criminal. Just because one has turned around later in life but has not atoned for their actions earlier in life does not excuse them to positive outcome in the afterlife. The gods do not look at one's end of their life to judge on but at their entire life as a whole.

If one atones for their sins in the totality of their life, only then can they be redeemed.

There are penitents among them, sure. But we saw what kind of people worship these evil deities.

The dude was complacent in a cult that mutilated children, by turning them into cyborg sex slaves and making them compete in gladiator matches.

Worst kind of predestination.

It seems kind of sad that there's no chance to atone for bad done in life without paying in the afterlife. I mean, he gave his life to try to correct what had happened, what he helped happen. But it accounted for nothing.
DrJavi

One noble deed wasn't enough to undo a life of evil. The bad still outweighed the good.
Feryl

He must have done a shitton of evil. I can't think of too many good deeds beyond self-sacrifice while taking out a load of evil at the same time. But then again...those he took out were likely servants of Diafthoron, which likely accounted for nothing in the end. The lord of evil has countless minions & a room full is insignificant.

Sorry for the rambling. Justifying it in my own mind. I guess it works out like it should. I'm just a terribly stubborn optimist. I always hope for a happy ending.

What did he do in his life exactly? Other than not doing anything about the bug people of course, because I don't think there was anything he COULD have done about that. The bug people seemed to have power over his superiors, so if he did anything against the bug people, they seemed to have the power to undo it or make things worse and/or have him killed for it. What evil deeds did he do in life that he actually could've done something about or chosen to not do?

He probably could have chosen not to diddle kids when offered.

Wait, this is a god now? It was merely described as a demon back in the old times... Did it get promoted?
DrJavi
2 months, 1 week ago
He was always a god, but the summoning was terribly botched and, as a Christian, the priest didn't really know what he was.

I was wondering the same thing. Was thinking that back then that was maybe an avatar or something, but I guess not. Darn, they really dodged a bullet there then, huh? That character design will never leave me, you really did a fantastic job with this one.

Wonder what this means for Lily and Norak. What are their stories before we met them? Lily seemed nice enough, and Norak didn't seem that bad either. Assuming all imps are created this way, I wonder if they remember how they got to where they are.

And the Spawns, darn... So they get to spend the rest of eternity (possibly) being forced to try to corrupt others, knowing the misery that will cause if they succeed? Especially after going out trying to do one good thing and feeling guilty, that is devastatingly cruel.

I have no sympathy whatsoever for the judge though.

Some imps are recycled from damned souls, some are made from thin air, and some are actually born. In Norbak's case, I can confirm that he was born - his parents will appear in the game I'm making. Lily tho... who knows.

From daemonic lord to god? That is a big leap in ranks.

Demon...God...not much difference between the two really...

Excellent story. Thanks very much.

Does the mentioned 'femboy' aspect hold any additional meaning? Is it an added aspect to his punishment or just a little joke?

Are the spawn in any additional pain? For instance do they constantly feel the absence of their faces or do they eventually get used to that? And absolutely adore all the little items to set them apart, full mask, hat, presumably rotten apple.
DrJavi

They are created to tempt the living into sinning, so Diafthoron made them all both incubi and succubi at the same time. Femboys are a good enough middle point to make it easier to turn them male or female whenever needed. And also it's a rare enough middle point that pretty much none of them feel comfortable in their bodies.

For Corruption spawns, the pain isn't as much physical (though having no face must still be annoying) as it is psychological, as they constantly feel alien to themselves, both in body and in mind.

The spawns of the god of Suffering though, yeah, those are screwed.

Truly devious, suitably depressing, and just dark enough to make their new eternal existences just enough of a hell for it to be a punishment without being so horrifying that the majority wouldn't seek oblivion. Flawlessly done.

feel kinda bad for him yeah he did horrible things in life but he was not purely evil, eternity of leading people astray feels cruel...

then again...its a very cruel god.

I find it interesting the other spawn are gathered around him to offer him comfort. I'm guessing they also accepted their damnation and have enough empathy left in them to say, "We got you, bro."

The transformations look agonizing, but mercifully quick.

Also, it took me a second viewing to notice one of them is offering him an apple.

So at least they have a source of food!
