Episode 54: A new mission at the nuclear power station
One day, on Saturday afternoon, when Jerony was still in the CIA office, the puppies were in the living room, playing monopoly as usual.
"Finally... I will build a hotel in Jakarta!" Svara exclaimed, placing a tiny plastic hotel piece on the board.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement, her tail wagging.
"Aaahhhh... That's your fourth hotels, Svara... You're going to bankrupt us all if we stopped at your asset place," Seca said, his eyes widening as he counted his paper money, his clumsy paws fumbling with the notes.
Maxtone chuckled, watching the game unfold.
"Looks like you're on a winning streak again, Svara," he teased, his ears perked up.
"If I could buy Surabaya and build my hotel in there, well... I could be the winner because the rent is higher there!" Hershell said, his tail wagging with excitement as he studied the board, his mind racing with strategy.
The room was filled with the sound of plastic pieces being moved and the occasional yip of excitement or frustration as the puppies took their turns.
Hershell roll the dice, his eyes lighting up as the dice showing a six and a four.
"Yes! I got my good spot!" He exclaimed, moving his piece to the next available property, which is Surabaya.
"Now, I just need to... Wait a minute?!??!" Hershell's voice trailed off as he reached for the money to buy Surabaya "I don't have enough money!"
The puppies laughingly looked at Hershell, who had forgotten to keep track of his finances in the heat of the game.
His little paws trembled as he counted his remaining money.
"Oh no, I can't win now," he whined, his tail drooping in disappointment.
"How much your money now, Hershell?" Anna asked, tilting her head curiously.
"2000 rupiah," Hershell replied, his voice filled with a mix of sadness and frustration.
"Well, that's not enough to buy Surabaya, it's 17000 rupiah" Seca said, his eyes glancing at the board, trying to hide his own excitement at the prospect of winning the game.
Maxtone looked at Hershell, his eyes filled with mischief.
"Why don't you ask for a loan from the bank?" he suggested, his tail wagging slightly.
"My loan has been a lot, I think," Hershell whined, his ears drooping "I don't want to owe the bank too much."
But suddenly, their pup-tag beeped and Jerony's voice crackled through the speakers.
"The Pups Gang, we have a new mission," the voice announced, the seriousness in its tone immediately silencing their laughter and banter.
"Master need us!!!" The puppies jumped to their paws, their eyes shining with excitement and anticipation.
The game of Monopoly was immediately forgotten as they rushed to their bedrooms where their spy suits were kept.
After wearing their spy suits, they dashes to the control room, where a large screen flickered to life, displaying a map of the city with a red blinking dot.
"Puppies... Meet me at this spot," Jerony's voice directed from the pup-tag, the urgency clear.
The red dot on the screen marked a location at the nuclear power station on the outskirts of Adventure City. The room was filled with a mix of excitement and tension.
This was no ordinary mission briefing.
"Copy that," the puppies barked in unison, their tails wagging with excitement.
They knew that this mission was going to be more serious than their usual games.
Immediately, all The Pups Gang go to the garage and jumped into the Jeep Rubicon. Anna was on the driver seat, holding the steering wheel and activated the puppy driver mode.
The Jeep's engine roared to life as Anna's paws gripped the steering wheel tightly. Her eyes were sharp with focus as she navigated through the streets of Adventure City.
Anna drove the jeep at high speed and overtake some cars, her eyes glued on the road ahead.
The wind whipped through the open windows, sending their fur flying as they sped towards the nuclear power plant.
Inside, the puppies were a flurry of excitement, their little hearts racing with anticipation.
This was no game; this was the real deal.
Finally, they arrived at the nuclear power station, the looming structure casting a shadow over the surrounding area.
"Where are you, Master?" Anna's voice was tight with concentration as she maneuvered the Jeep.
"I'm already inside," Jerony's voice came through their pup-tags, sounding slightly out of breath.
Anna stopped the car right in front of the main entrance of the nuclear power station, the tires screeching against the pavement.
The puppies jumped out, their eyes scanning the area for any signs of trouble.
They rushed to the entrance, their spy suits already activated and ready for anything.
The doors slid open with a hiss, revealing the stark, sterile interior. The echo of their paws on the cold, metallic floor was the only sound in the otherwise silent space.
"Sssshhhh, pups... Over here," Jerony's voice was barely a whisper as he signaled them from the shadows of the security booth.
The Pups Gang gathered around him, their tails wagging in excitement despite the gravity of the situation.
"Master, what happened?" Maxtone asked, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of trouble.
"There's been a breach in security," Jerony explained, his eyes serious "someone has hacked into the system and is trying to steal sensitive data... We need to find them and stop them before it's too late."
"Is that, Elena Rose?!??" Svara whispered in shock, recognizing the name from their mission briefing.
"No, it wasn't her... But her fox pet, Cooper," Jerony corrected Svara, his voice tense "he's trying to breaching the core system... We need to find him before he does something irreversible... Maxtone, take to the air and scout the upper levels... Svara, stay with me, we'll check the main control room... Seca, you're with Anna, she'll need your mechanical skills if we run into any locked doors or traps... Luna, keep an eye on the security cameras and guide us from there."
"Alright, Master... Ruff!!! Wings jet," Maxtone barked to his pup-pack, transforming into his air spy mode.
His jet engine roared to life, and with a graceful leap, he shot upwards through the open vent above them, disappearing into the shadows of the plant's complex network of ducts.
Anna and Seca took off running, their paws thumping against the metal floor as they made their way to the control room.
Anna's eyes were sharp, scanning every inch of the room, her instincts on high alert.
Seca, on the other hand, was slightly nervous. He had always been the clumsiest of the bunch, and the thought of facing a real danger made his paws tremble.
"Seca, stay close to me," Anna instructed, her voice firm "we need to watch each other's backs."
Seca nodded, trying to hide his nerves.
"Yes, Anna," he said, his tail wagging slightly as they approached the first set of doors.
They were metal and heavy, but with a quick nudge from Anna's strong snout, they swung open, revealing the dimly lit corridor beyond.
"Ruff!!! Night vision," Anna barked at her visor, her eyes lighting up as the corridor was suddenly bathed in a soft, green glow.
She and Seca cautiously approached the next set of doors, which were secured with an electronic lock.
They walked slowly down the corridor, their eyes scanning for any sign of trouble. The silence was eerie, only broken by the occasional hum of machinery and the patter of their own paws.
"Seca... Stop, don't move," Anna whispered urgently, her eyes fixed on something ahead.
"What happens?!??" Seca asked nervously.
"I said, don't move... Let me go first," Anna said, her voice was firmly as she felt some tension.
Seca froze in his tracks, his heart racing in his chest. He could feel the tension in the air, and his instincts told him they weren't alone.
"Ruff... Weapon activated," Anna barked again and then a high-tech air soft gun coming out from her pup-pack, it was a silent but deadly weapon for close combat.
The corridor was clear for now, but they could feel the presence of someone, or something, lurking in the shadows.
Seca, he could felt like he was about to peed himself.
"What is it, Anna?" Seca whispered, his voice shaking slightly.
"I think there's someone up ahead," Anna murmured, her ears perked "stay here, I'll check it out."
Before Seca could protest, Anna slipped away into the shadows, her night-vision visor allowing her to navigate the dimly lit space with ease.
Her paws padded softly on the floor as she approached the corner, her gun at the ready.
Anna's breath was shallow as she reached the corner, her heart pounding in her chest. She took a moment to compose herself before peeking around the bend.
The corridor was clear, but she knew their target was somewhere nearby. She gave a quick nod to Seca, who was trembling with anticipation.
"Ruff!!! Weapon activated," Seca squeaked out, his pup-pack deploying a pair of machine gun.
"Remember, we are looking for Cooper, not to kill anyone," Jerony reminded them through their pup-tags, his voice a mix of urgency and caution.
"Copy that, Master," Anna barked back, her voice steady despite her racing heart.
She took a deep breath and rounded the corner, her gun poised and ready to fire. The corridor stretched out before her, the only sound the echo of her footsteps on the metal floor.
As they moved deeper into the plant, the air grew colder and the smell of electricity filled their noses.
The lights flickered ominously overhead, casting long, dancing shadows on the walls.
Seca's eyes widened with each step, his pupils dilating with fear.
"I don't like this, Anna," he whispered, his voice trembling.
"Be like Hershell, Seca... Even though scared until you peed yourself, you have to be strong for the team," Anna said with a firm voice, trying to encourage him.
Despite her own anxiety, she knew they had to push through.
They turned another corner, and suddenly, a flash of fur darted across their path.
"Don't move!" Anna shouted, pointing her gun in the direction of the fleeing figure.
It was Cooper, the annoying fox who was known for his hacking skills.
Cooper shocked to hear that, "oh no!!! The Pups Gang!"
He quickly jumped into a ventilation shaft and disappeared from their sight.
"Seca, warned Master and the puppies, I will chase him!" Anna barked decisively.
Without wasting a second, she took off after Cooper, her paws pounding the floor as she sprinted towards the ventilation shaft.
"Seca to The Pups Gang... Seca to The Pups Gang," Seca's voice quivered over the pup-tag communicator "we've spotted Cooper... He's heading into the ventilation shaft."
"Got it," Luna's voice crackled back through the pup-tag's speaker "I'm tracking him... He's fast, but I'll keep you updated on his location."
Meanwhile, inside the ventilation shaft, Anna's powerful legs propelled her forward, her eyes fixed on the retreating tail of Cooper.
The space was tight, but her sleek spy suit allowed for surprising flexibility. She could feel the rush of cold air as she chased the fox through the twisting and turning maze of ducts.
"I won't let you go this time, Cooper!" Anna barked, her voice echoing through the shaft.
The sound of Cooper's paws grew fainter as he tried to put distance between them.
Anna's muscles burned with exertion, but she pushed herself harder, determined to catch up to him.
