Episode 53: Hershell was healed
A few days later.
Jerony, at that time, he was checking Hershell's wound, which was healing nicely.
The antibiotics were doing their job, and the pain had subsided significantly.
Hershell's eyes fluttered open as he felt the gentle touch of his master's hand on his bandaged crotch.
"Master," he whined weakly, his eyes still groggy with sleep.
"Hershell... The puppies wants to apologize to you," Jerony said, his voice gentle as he looked down at the golden retriever pup.
"Master, why do I feel so... scared to face them?" Hershell whispered, his tail thumping nervously against the bed.
"Don't worry... Luna had realized her mistake," Jerony assured him, his hand still resting gently on Hershell's bandaged crotch "they all have, and they're eager to tell you how sorry they are."
Hershell took a deep breath and nodded, his heart racing with both fear and anticipation.
He had missed his siblings, but the memory of the pain and the sight of his own blood was still fresh in his mind.
"Okay, Master," he murmured, his voice shaky "but please, be close to me."
Jerony nodded and picked up Hershell, cradling him in his arms as they made their way to the living room.
In the living room, the puppies are seen watching TV, their eyes glued to the screen, but their minds elsewhere.
As Jerony enters with Hershell in his arms, the TV volume seems to fade away into the background. They all turn to look at Hershell, their tails wagging slightly but with a hint of uncertainty.
Maxtone was the first to break the silence.
"Hey, buddy," he greeted, his voice gentle "how are you feeling?"
"I'm fine but..." Hershell began, his voice trailing off as he looked at the group of puppies who had caused his pain.
Maxtone and Svara immediately rushed over to him, their tails wagging with excitement.
"We're so sorry, Hershell," Svara said, her eyes filled with regret.
"We didn't mean to hurt you... We just got carried away with the competition," Maxtone nodded solemnly.
"Hershell... I sorry for the incident, I didn't know that my bite would hurt you so badly," Luna's voice was filled with genuine regret "I thought I just bit you lightly like we always do, but I guess I've been too rough."
Hershell expression softened as he looked at his siblings, feeling their genuine concern and regret.
"It's okay," he whispered, his tail giving a small wag "but promise me, no more biting games, okay? I'm so traumatized."
The puppies nodded vigorously, their eyes filled with determination.
"We promise, Hershell," Svara said, nuzzling his neck gently "we'll be more careful from now on."
That way, puppies began to improve their relationship with Hershell. They were more gentle and considerate of his feelings and limitations, especially during their playtime.
The Pups Gang continued with their regular training sessions, but now with a newfound sense of unity and care for one another.
After a few days, Hershell wound finally healed and the bandage could be removed.
The moment the bandage was taken off, Hershell felt a sense of relief wash over him, as if the last bit of pain from the incident had disappeared with it.
The puppies were all gathered in the living room, eager to get back to their regular activities, but something was different now.
They had learned a valuable lesson about teamwork and the importance of looking out for each other.
