"So, here it is!" Sonic and Amy are in a very special place on their anniversary. The place where they first met, the never lake! A picturesque lake in an almost magical area. Because here a metal chain towers up seemingly to the stars. Up there, the little planet appears every four weeks, which is not also called Miracle Planet without a reason. Sonic and Amy picnic on a meadow. The weather is nice, the food is delicious, the view is heavenly. The only thing that bothers the idyll is the huge mountain. It's been about 10 years since Eggman had carved his ugly grimace into the mountain. Even from dozens of kilometers away, anyone on Mobius can see this abomination. Of course, Sonic had run over as soon as possible to stop Robuttnik. But the monument had also attracted someone else. Sonic's biggest fangirl, Amy Rose, couldn't wait to finally meet her big hero. But everything was a trap. Eggman actually wanted to attack Sonic with his greatest and latest invention at this time: Metal Sonic. But when he saw Amy, he thought she was Sonic's girlfriend and ordered Metal Sonic to kidnap her. Sonic did not allow himself to be blackmailed and managed to destroy Metal Sonic as well as to thwart Eggman's plans again. But of course this wasn't the end of the story. Eggman returned with the rebuild Metal Sonic Mk. II, also known as Kai, countless robots and increasingly nasty plans. It's hard to believe that the nasty scientist was murdered a year and a half ago. And not even by Sonic, no, Eggman's own nephew, Collin "Snively" Robotnik Jr. , had manipulated his fighting machine. Only a burned skeleton was left of the man, who was once so well-rounded. One day the coffin had been stolen. Just like that, unknown people had deliberately excavated the egg-white coffin of the egg man. The undertaker had just shrugged his shoulders. Definitely some fanatical followers. He hadn't even called the police because, why?

But all this is in the past. Eggman is defeated and gone for good. Sonic really deserves this day. He had just experienced an adventure that was more dangerous than anything before. Now, at that moment, the memory of his escape from the safest prison in the world seems like an absurd fever dream. But it really happened and the fact that he succeeded his escape was solely thanks to Kazran. How life plays! Kazran's family and friends consisted of mercenaries who worked for Eggman due to the generous pay. A serious mistake when you assumed the order to finish off Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow destroyed them like any other robot, and Kazran only survived by accident. Eventually, Kazran became the doctor's guinea pig, who merged him with the Phantom Rubin and gained Kazran access to unbelievable powers in the process. It was close, but Sonic was able to defeat Kazran in the end. Eggman deprived him of the Phantom Rubin and robbed his powers, Kazran saw that he had nothing left to lose and tried to commit suicide. But contrary to expectations, he survived and was sent to the dreaded Koralleninsel after several years of coma. Half a year ago, another inmate was added : Kai. When Sonic heard that, he hoped he would never see Kai again.
But then came the letter.
And the feathers.
Many feathers.
And the nightmare began.

"Sonic! Are you alright?", asks Amy. "Yeah, I was just lost in thoughts for a moment", says Sonic. "Today is a beautiful day",Amy murmurs dreamily, and she's so right. The birds sing, the insects hum, the sun shines and the hearts rise. Only this ugly Eggman mountain clouds the picture. Sonic smiles. He could just turn into Super Sonic and destroy this shame! Sonic is getting ready and reaches into his pocket. Only then does he remember.
Kai has the chaos Emeralds.
Sonic briefly panics, but he pulls himself together again. Amy is right. Today is a beautiful day and he doesn't want to let anyone ruin it! He turns to Amy instead. "You're wearing ... interesting clothes today", he comments. "Yes, I used to be very ... fashion-conscious", smiles Amy in embarrassment. For the anniversary, Amy wears the same clothes today as at her first meeting. Green shirt, orange skirt and blue shoes. The colors bite a lot. "What was I just thinking back then? That looks terrible!" "Probably you just thought of me",jokes Sonic and is more right than expected. "Back then, I was still young, naive and innocent. Today I'm young, naive and not quite as innocent anymore",says Amy, stepping closer to Sonic. "Do you want to add more indecent things?" Sonic is happy to be able to play a role-playing game again with Amy. "What can I say? I'm a very bad influence on you", Sonic replies nonchalantly. "Oh no, how inappropriate! Hopefully I can wash off this shame!", Amy answered with pretended shame, undresses and climbs into the river. Her beloved Sonic follows into the water faster than she expected. There is only one tiny problem: Sonic has no idea about romance and doesn't even know how to organize this day. So he makes his way to Tails to ask him for advice. On the way he meets Jakob Prower, also called Jak, Tails' father. He's wearing a satchel that looks way too small for him. An unusual sight, but Sonic is undeterred. "Hm, close enough. I need your help!" "Me too! Do you remember the black-red hedgehog that was there the day you felt bad?" "Please don't talk about it anymore!",says Sonic, who is a bit ashamed of this low point in his life. "Anyway, I wanted to visit his castle, but he must have forgotten me and doesn't believe me that I am Miles' father. Can you vouch for me?" Sonic doesn't ask any more questions: "Sometimes Shadow is a bit ... special",he says and agrees to help Jak.
On the way to the Shadow Fortress, which was previously called Castle Eggman, which was previously called Villa Robotnik, Sonic asks Jak the question: "I want to do something romantic with my fiancé today. Do you have an idea?" Fiancée. This is still a bit unusual for Sonic, but he really wants to make an effort. That's why he also wears the engagement ring. Everyone should know! Jak looks thoughtfully into the void: "I was so happy the day my father died ... okay, but I won't call you a son. Miles is my only son!" "Can you lead me by the hand to the altar at my wedding?" "Yes, but don't you usually do that to the bride?" "Oh, yes, it's possible, I don't know about weddings",replies Sonic casually and makes Jak smile. Again with a better mood, the two soon reach their destination.

Sonic quickly clarifies the situation with Shadow, and says goodbye to Jak, who seems to have something pretty important to do inside. Instead, Sonic looks around. Not a bad booth. The castle is majestic. The only thing that bothers the picture is a tree uprooted in the fight a few years ago. (You can read the fight in my "Sonic Action" fanfiction) Shadow sees the gaping hole in the ground as a reminder of the past. Sonic shrugs. Each ruler takes care of his own castle. But that doesn't get him any further in search of something romantic. Suddenly Sonic has one of these ideas where a light bulb appears in cartoons. He's a prince, and what's more romantic than a castle ball? Sonic immediately runs home and wants to implement his idea immediately. Sonic discusses the matter with his faithful servant Howl. It turns out that the time for a ball is perfect. There hasn't been a ball for a long time and all the aristocrats are certainly already impatient. Sonic leaves the planning to his staff and wants to retire to his room when he listens to music. A piano and a drum kit. Sonic follows the sounds and finds his siblings. "Do you want to take part?",asks Manic. Why not? Sonic grabs his guitar and together the triplets start to make some noise. Nobody is there to evaluate the sound quality - it's all about the joy of music.
A joy that most critics probably no longer have.

Unfortunately, Sonic forgot one thing: a ball is only for the rich and noble people. But no problem! Without further ado, Sonic turns the ball into a masked ball and "smuggles" his friends in. Sonic stands in the middle of the hall and looks around. The men wear fine suits and the women wear beautiful dresses. The mood is exuberant and the music awakens a strange nostalgia for Sonic. It feels like coming home. Everything is perfect, only one person is missing, where can she be? Sonic continues to look at the crowd in front of him and tries to find pink. Suddenly someone speaks to him from behind: "Would you allow me a dance, Majesty?" Sonic plays along and answers: "But gladly, honored Countess Lillifee von Rosenheim am Rosenhain!" The day ends with sunset. What a surprise, every day ends with a sunset. But this day is special and the sunset is particularly beautiful. Sonic and Amy sit in a hidden corner in the castle garden. Amy snuggled up close to Sonic and Sonic plays a few notes on his guitar.

He wrote his and Marine's name on a paper and tries to combine the two into a cute new name, but does not come to a satisfactory result. At least, he found a list on the internet. A user named Blu100-Jewel100 suggests the following girl names: Jane, Debbie, Jenny,Jessica, Molly, Elizabeth, Eliza, Ginny, Emma. "Well,that ain't it. What is that??" Marine sees the list and shakes her head. "Definitely a human thing. How do they come up with such strange names?" Tails dismisses : "That's definitely because they doesn't have as much fur as we've got ... I got it!" Tails writes down his sudden flash of inspiration. "Hatine. After all the adventures of his son, nothing surprises him anymore. "Behind you. My name is Cosmo and I'm a Seedrian, a being from the flora. Your son was a good friend of mine, although he's from the animal realm. Well, Jakob, could you please help me?" Behind Jak is a flower pot with a plant that seems to be far too big for it. "How can a plant talk to me? And what do you need my help with?" "I'm communicating with you via telepathy. I want you to plant me in a nice spot so I can grow up to a tree" Jak adjusts the red cap on his head. "I know a nice place, so why not? But why didn't you ask Miles?" "Who is Miles?" "Tails", sighs Jak, who is almost the only one who calls Tails by his real name. Cosmo. This name looks familiar to Jak, but why? Tails had told him so much stories about his adventures, so many names of friends and foes. The voice now sounds a bit melancholic. "Back then, when we met, we thought we'd never divide. Jak takes the now familiar way to Shadow Fortress. "I have to do something for a moment, then I can fulfill your wish" Jak wants to write the end today despite the distraction. He puts Cosmo at the window and starts. For a long time, Cosmo says nothing and Jak almost forgets in his paperwork that this is not just a normal plant. But when he's finished, Cosmo asks: "What's that? I feel wood, but it feels ... differently" Jak explains: "These are books. They made paper out of the wood, and on paper, people wrote their stories" "That sounds nice. Can you please bury some paper in my soil?" Jak looks at the stack of paper in his hand on which his entire past is written. Why not?

I want to go there as soon as possible " Tails is shocked at how serious Sonic's voice sounds. Tails asks, his voice full of despair. "A scan for Chaos Emeralds would take three days. On the other hand, we can't just land somewhere on Mars. How do we want to find Eggman? " " This is the Olympus Mons, the largest mountain in our solar system with an altitude of 26 kilometers! Named after Mount Olympus, the house of the gods in Greek mythology. " Master, they are here! " , Kai announces. Eggman sits on some kind of chair. His clothes are torn and his body pulsates with chaos energy that keeps him alive. He waits impatiently for the machine he is connected to with numerous cables to finally be activated. A machine that represents the peak of an old ally's career. " Grimer, hurry up!" , Eggman bellows, his eyes a terrifying black with red pupils. Grimer, a talented scientist and engineer who shows unmistakable similarities with a zombie, is working tirelessly on the machine. " Master, I need more time! Otherwise, the powers of the Chaos Emeralds cannot be transferred to you safely! " Meanwhile, Kai watches recordings of surveillance cameras on a large computer screen. Team Sonic is approaching slowly but surely. " Calculate optimal approach " ,rattles Sage's robotic voice in the corner. Eggman gets up and roars : "I know that too. Out of the way, charlatan!" With these words, Eggman pushes Grimer aside and stands at the control panel himself. Almost immediately, an alarm breaks out when Eggman overclocks the machine without regard to losses. " A god doesn't need safe machines " , he murmurs to himself.
Meanwhile, on the surface of the Mars, Sonic and his friends are fighting against Badniks, when suddenly the influx of robots dies down. " All the energy from the factories are getting redirected to the Olympus Mons! What does that mean? " Before anyone can answer, an earthquake shakes the Mars. Occasionally, avalanches of stone form, which our heroes have to dodge. " Nothing good! " , calls Marine, who can just barely avoid a particularly large boulder. Undeterred, Sonic runs up to the summit and looks down into the yawning gorge of the massive volcano. " Sonic, no! That's too dangerous! What if that's a trap? If the Olympus mons collapses ... " Tails tries to reconsider the situation. Sonic looks at him with such a serious look that Tails involuntarily takes a step back. " Didn't you just wanted to know what that means? That means it: Eggman has return and brought the hell with him! " Sonic jumps down daringly. In the air he curls himself into a ball and drills his spikes on the rock walls. He rolls towards his fate at top speed. Amy follows him in the same way without hesitation. Marine puts a hand on Tails's shoulder. Tails breathes deeply in and out and flies down with Marine in his arm.
The darkness is illuminated several times by colorful flashes. " Master, the security field destabilizes! " Grimer's voice breaks as the ground trembles violently under them. A console explodes in a shiver of sparks and casts jagged shadows on Eggman's grinning face. He doesn't even flinch. Kai stumbles backwards and grabs a pipe to stabilize his position. "Doctor - the vital values - you are in impossible areas! " The air smells of burning metal and chaos energy, thick enough to taste on the tongue. Sage tries again in vain to bring her father to his senses with calculations. " The probability of a destructive ending is ... " " Quiet! " , yells Eggman, " and trust your master! " With a satisfied face, he watches the Chaos Emeralds vibrate wildly behind the safety glass and begin to show cracks. " Perfect " , he murmurs and taps the glass with a gloved finger. " Let it destabilize " Sage's holographic form flickers when another tremble shakes the base. Her voice is calm, as always, slightly monotonous and a bit artificial, but if Eggman had incorporated her the ability to pitch her voice, her voice would now be fearful. " Father. This is beyond the theoretical risk " Eggman's smile expands even more as Sonic and his friends finally arrive downstairs. " Give up, Eggman, wait a minute, what? " Eggman's joints crack, his bones crunch, and his skin shines with unnatural sweat. Jak was revived immediately after his death and can live on as normal, while Eggman was brought from the dead with the Emeralds after more than 2 years. And you notice that in every movement of his body. " Oh, Sage " , giggles Eggman and his voice deepens unnaturally. " You shouldn't doubt your own father's genius " With a decisive click, the lever snaps into place. The Chaos Emeralds shatter immediately, not with a bang, but a clinking like glass. For half a second, Eggman's whole body is silhouetted in emerald green light - every vein, every bone visible like an X-ray image - before the explosion swallows him completely. Grimer's scream is lost in the roar of collapse when everything becomes white. When the dust clears, Sage's hologram flickers faintly above the spot where Eggman had stood. There's just a little bit of steaming dust left. It sounds endlessly loud as the biometric monitors flatline with a single, endless beep.
For one moment only the soft blowing of the wind can be heard, swirling red dust.
For one moment , everything is quiet.
For one moment , everything is fine.
But that one moment is only a moment and, like any other moment, has to pass. And the next moment won't be nearly as gracious.
The terribly powerful sound of the Olympus Mons, which is now being torn in two in the middle, echoes through all of Mars as something big and dark over them appears. Sage's projection blurs wildly as she looks up, her voice becomes static, more a noise than words: "Father ... you ... you are ... merged ... with ... " The sky is tearing up. Where the thin atmosphere of Mars should be, a colossal face emerges - Eggman's facial features stretch for kilometers of starry darkness, his golden mustache shimmers brightly like a star. His new left hand, through the chaos energy merged with one of his factories on Mars, is larger than a city, and has 6 long, sharp claws that are only remotely reminiscent of fingers. His other hand is just a skeleton. Everything at Eggman looks wrong. His body is chaotic, bare bones next to muscle-packed skin. There is a huge hole in the place where the heart is supposed to be. If you look closely, you realize that the inside is empty - no organs, just black-red lightning bolts from negative chaos energy keeps this abominable monster alive. Only his suspenders and the attached trousers are left of his clothes. His red jacket is burned during the transformation. And that's not the only thing that will burn today. "Ohhhh Sage", blares a voice that creates light earthquakes, "are you still underestimating me?" The bright red eyes of the 22-kilometre titanium glow like suns and shoot a burning laser beam down, regardless of losses, regardless of his children.
"Chaos is power, enriched by the heart ... "
Sonic has closed his eyes and holds Amy's hand. Both concentrate and hardly notice the surroundings. The eyes are closed. The positive chaos energy is still floating around in a colored fog. Sonic and Amy open their hearts, ready to receive the chaos of energy, not to control them, but to be controlled by chaos, this inexplicable power from another world.

When the last bit of chaos energy enters Sonic and Amy, there are no longer Sonic and Amy. No, a new being is there, an union of two hearts, the merging of two souls. An impossibility, A fusion. No more two, no longer blue, no longer pink. Only it. It is Sonamy, half Sonic, half Amy and full determined to save the world.
The golden aura of the reinforced superform is brilliantly bright, the spikes are sharp like razors. With its arms crossed, Sonamy stands there and calmly looks at the death ray that rushes towards it and its friends. Just a few attoseconds before the impact, Sonamy holds its hands up and creates a shield that reflects the beam. But Eggman also reacted in time and adjusted his body in such a way that the ray travels harmlessly through the hole in his chest into space. "I would never have expected that I hit you on first try. But your new form is unusual, Sonic. So you're fighting with the power of love now, what? I would have expected more from you", Eggman scoffs and wants to consciously provoke Sonic's ego. Each mistake of the other is of invaluable worth. It is unpredictable when the first body will collapse under the strain of chaos energy. Nevertheless, as always, Eggman is far too sure of his victory and wants to play with Sonic. "It would be a shame if it was about to end!",he adds before he disappears unexpectedly. In Sonamy's head are two voices, two minds. "Eggman, STOP! JUST STOP!",Sonic yells. Amy asks : "Sonic, what about you? You're so different right now!" "That's bigger than anything before. I have to concentrate. We have to concentrate!" And two consciousnesses merge again into one.
Sonamy's first thought goes to its friends, as always. "Tails, Marine! Are you alright?" Marine affirms. She has already turned into Aqua Marine and looks ready to fight. But Tails ... he stands just there, trembling. Sonamy not only looks him at the face, but directly into the brain. The completely justified fear coming from the mind, the frustration about failing right then when everything is at stake,the worry about his friends, and even more is what Sonamy recognizes in a blink of an eye. "I am so sorry. I don't want to disappoint you, but ... " "You don't have to justify yourself. Nobody could be expected to defeat this monster. And I have another task for you. You have to repair the damage from our fight so that the Universe gets back into balance. Can you do that?”,Sonamy asks with that voice, that abnormally combined and at the same time strangely familiar voice. Tails nods and the darkness in his thoughts gives way to an unprecedented determination. He gets ready and is now transforming into his Sol form with the Sol Emeralds. Marine pats him on the shoulder. "Come on, mate! Time to turn the tides!" Sonamy looks around and listens to space. "That's nice and all, but where is ... "
"Look who's back, hedgehogs! And I even brought you some souvenirs!" Eggman's face now fills the whole starry sky. In his hands, the terrible colossus holds the two moons of the Mars, Phobos and Deimos. Without further warnings, he throws them at Sonamy. Sonamy spins, whirls at top speed and pierces through both moons ,splintering them into countless small stones. But Sonamy doesn't stop and lands on Eggman's hand. It's the skeleton hand. One after the other, Sonamy tears off every finger. Eggman roars loudly and shakes his arm wildly. Meanwhile, Marine and Tails put Phobos and Deimos back together, every single little pebble comes back exactly where it belongs and both moons are brought back in place. Eggman flees again and shoots dangerous lasers, which Sonamy evades with precision. "If two moons are not enough, ... then what about one hundred stones!" And Eggman is already standing in the middle of the asteroid belt and throwing Meteors wildly at Sonamy, his arms shoveling like a dog burying a bone. He's still laughing, everything is still a game for him - until Sonamy spins around and merges all asteroids together into a huge planet. How rocks have clenched into planets over the course of millions of years now happens in seconds. The impact of the unnamed new planet sends Eggman to a crash into Jupiter. But he's not dead yet, the chaos energy keeps him alive. But with every hit he loses energy. And when it's used up ...
Eggman reappears, his body bathed with the liquid diamonds that sink into the endless sea of clouds in violent storms of Jupiter. In the cold of the universe, the liquid carbon freezes immediately and Eggman has to use up a lot more energy to free himself. Now it's over with fun and games! "Why ... don't you ... animals ... die?" Eggman roars now, his voice bubbling like a volcano. "How about if you're going to do that for us, master?",Sonamy mocks and grabs the rings of the Saturn. Sonamy puts the rings over Eggman's head like a frill. Sonamy pulls the rings together, and millions of large stones and pointed icicles make countless death stabs. Eggman's cries of pain create vibrations that can be felt in the entire Milky Way. Meanwhile, Marine and Tails repair the asteroid belt.
Eggman's anger turns into panic when the damage becomes too much and his energy decreases first imperceptibly, but then decreases more and more quickly. "50", says Tails. Half is already gone. Eggman is beginning to appear weaker. His golden mustache flickers like a light bulb and the robotic arm slowly dissolves into its individual parts. Like a countdown, Tails enumerates Eggman's energy reserves. "45,40,35,30,25" and Eggman's final defeat is getting closer and closer.
"No!!!" The scream came from the deepest of hearts - or in Eggman's case the deepest darkness. With the greatest effort he teleports himself one last time, this time to Mobius' orbit. "When I have to die, Mobius dies with me!!!", he hisses and concentrates all his remaining strength on a huge death ball of dark chaos energy. "Finally",Eggman smiles as his last deed approaches completion. And despite countless defeats in his life, nothing could prepare him for the moment when the ball stops and suddenly turns back. "Back to the sender!" The ball is thrown back to Eggman by Tails and Marine. "I hate hedgehogs!",are his last words before his energyless body falls apart into stardust. And with him, his plans also disintegrate. Nothing on Mobius will still be reminiscent of Eggman.
Except one thing.
"We did it! What do you say - Sona..." Tails' words get stuck in his throat when he sees how serious and focused Sonamy is still looking.
"Not yet"
And it's already gone, teleported back to Olympus Mons. Sage is in a corner, her eyes are looking like loading bars. "Calculate, Calculate",she repeats in monotonous tone. Grimer hides in an almost comical manner behind a piece of the destroyed Emerald machine that is far too small. But the two are unimportant for Sonamy. For a moment, Sonamy is opposed to the person responsible for its anger: Metal Sonic, who now calls himself Kai. Sonamy and Kai look each other into the eyes for a split second. Then Sonamy grabs Kai and flies right through the rock wall. It drags him over the whole surface of Mars and over 70 million kilometers into the atmosphere of Mobius. Exactly over this ugly mountain with the man's grimace, who has just died forever. Sonamy throws Kai with all his might and Kai becomes a burning meteor who destroys the mountain by the force of the impact.
"Now it's done", Sonamy's last words, its quills are already blue-pink, before Sonic and Amy, again two separate hedgehogs, fall to the ground and fall asleep immediately from exhaustion.

Epilogue
"Wasn't there any other way?”,Tails suddenly asks. Sonic's face darkens. The memory of Eggman's desth is still fresh. “I never wanted to kill anyone. I never wanted to drop to his level. But this time ... " Sonic shakes his head as if he could shake away the memories of this hideous act. Tails waves it off : "I know, I know. I mean something else" Suddenly,Sonic smiles. "You mean our meeting point?" Sonic, Amy, Tails and Marine met in a playground today. Sonic and Tails sit on a bench and watch Amy and Marine playing on the swings. Somehow,that's cute. "Interesting choice. But I said ... "Say no more!", Sonic calls out, who thinks he's understood that game. "Wedding and undoing sterilization? Yes, thanks to Amy, it's all her fault!" Sonic's face is seemingly tormented, but his laughter betrays him. That's exactly why Sonic and Tails are on the playground today - to mentally prepare for their father roles. "I still meant not that" "What did you mean now?" ,Sonic asks increasingly irritated. Tails smiles: "Do you know how difficult it is to repair a Jupiter?" Sonic is getting a little embarrassed : "Well, coltteral damage..." Tails laughs at Sonic's face : "It's unbelievable that we experienced something like that!
