has this sci-fi AU in which he is a space captain of a ship called the Trunk. It's pretty cool! I made a couple of characters for it for funsies, and this is what Rykie's like in the setting. She is an AI created by a long-lost civilization in order to preserve all their knowledge and culture in the event of utter annihilation. Well, suffice it to say the inevitable happened, and as planned she was ejected into space while dormant within an [untranslatable], spending who knows how many countless eons adrift in space on the interstellar equivalent of a discarded USB drive. One fateful day, though, one of the crew of the Trunk pulled in a load of space debris to scavenge, and as luck would have it, they went ahead and plugged the [untranslatable] into the ship's onboard computers without thinking to check what might be there.
So now she's very here to stay!
For an AI she's a big motormouth, prone to infodumping because that's what she's made for and she's genuinely enthusiastic about new things. She's got total control of the ship systems (at least, when another AI onboard isn't actively fighting her or partitioning some of it off) but she's not very good at it. She'll usually cause more trouble than it's worth when she wants to help, and she's no good in the event of a fight of course. And as time goes on, not only does she develop a taste for pranking the crew, but she also begins to realize she's jealous of their physical forms, their oversexed bodies.... and has a quite intense desire for her very own gender and to be as ridiculously big as possible.
But for now, as you see here, her current hard-light construct is innocent and chaste, reflecting her little-girl personality. Unfortunately the Trunk has very poor quality tech, so her projection is rather glitchy and has the frame rate of a slightly too-fast powerpoint presentation. But that hardly gets her down! She's trying out the hips after seeing a certain owl wobbleclap his way around. It's kind of nice...
I tried a glowy effect (since she is a hard-light construct) and maybe got a little carried away with it. But it was fun, I think.
The glow IS pretty intense but it definitely helped sell how she fades into the background like hardlight would. I'd love to get to know her and help her learn... and encourage her to get a bit bigger each time~ <3

Yeah, it isn't bad for my first time trying it out! As a bonus the color looks a lot closer to rykela's usual scale color so I figured it worked out pretty well. I'm learnding!
