For it's 20th year, I've started a project to illustrate every (major) chapter in the GeneX series! (sfw only)
It's finally time for GeneX - Knuckles the Echidna! I'll go over each pic chapter by chapter and briefly explain them. Or you could read the fanfic. I've got pools for the stories, and bigger stories have been collected into arcs as well, like this arc here: https://inkbunny.net/s/2863059
Ch. 13 - Knuckles has a fight with Sonic that results in Sonic being captured by Eggman. Knuckles is forced to search for the Chaos Emeralds for Eggman in exchange for Sonic's safety. He searches Pumpkin Hill, where he finds a lost Cream... and a few other people, too.
Ch. 14 - At a ruin within Pumpkin Hill, the Covenant of Despair were searching for the Chaos Cards. Lospecter appears to taunt them, since he already has the cards.
Ch. 15 - Punchy, separated from Rainbow, ends up exploring Seafloor Palace with Amy. He aims to help Violet with her mission here in order to get her to help find Rainbow. Amy wants to sabotage Despair, however...
Ch. 16 - In the chamber of the Chaos Wing, Punchy is attacked by the Deathbringer. The mysterious being is bent on killing him, but Violet helps him escape.
Ch. 17 - Sonic is freed from Eggman's prison by Tails. On a tip from Professor Pickle, Sonic heads to Sandopolis, where Despair, GUN and Eggman forces are searching for something. Sonic and Shadow race to complete the "Trials of Sandopolis" (while looking for friends that got separated from them).
Ch. 18 - Kosmo has also come to Sandopolis, looking for answers. He runs into Whisk along the way. (And Silver and some others.) They got pursued by ghosts in the dark. I tried, but I couldn't get the ghosts to generate with Kosmo and another character (Whisk being the character I went with).
Ch. 19 - Down in Lava Reef, Kosmo and Fera have a bit of a showdown while their allies also clash a bit. Kosmo has rejected Despair's hate-fueled agenda.
Ch. 20 - At Hidden Palace, Bucky is forced to fight Sonic to prove his loyalty to Despair and keep his Experiments out of Despair's crosshairs. Also Shadow was there, and a ton of other people...
Ch. 20 (last image) - Kosmo rescues Carrie the Mirage as the Hidden Palace chamber begins collapsing due to the battles between Despair, GUN and Sonic. Kosmo...isn't supposed to be wearing pants here, but the Ai kept messing up Carrie, so I decided to compromise. Kosmo can shapeshift clothing onto himself, too.
