"Unexpectedly bubbly"

The lizard was having a pleasant lucid dream, toying around with altering the environment and conjuring his favorite characters to hang out with. As he stood on some grass while deciding what to do next, he made sure to re-anchor himself in the dream. He took a deep breath, paying attention to the smell of the grass-

Something strange rushed into his nostrils, and he coughed, noticing a cluster of bubbles floating free and ascending toward the sky. Was he starting to lose control of the dream? He tried to breathe again, but it happened again, and the lizard started to feel like he was choking. What was going on!?

Unknown to him, out in the real world, it was raining hard enough that his house was flooding! The water had happened to submerge him right as he'd tried to breathe, and the sensation of his interrupted breath got through into the dream. Hopefully he wakes up soon, before his room is fully underwater!
