coworker of mine lost his finger and they let him keep it when he asked. just keep in mind that they generally don't ask if you want to keep it they Dispose of it unless you specifically ask for it. Also note they dont let you do this with large items generally only small easily contained and preserved ones you cant keep something like your foot if they have to remove it.

Most hospitals have a "release of liability" form for keeping removed body parts. Basically you can't sue them if you do something dumb with it. One woman had her cancerous leg and foot sent to a lab, skeletonized and stabilized, and she made a photoshoot as though she were using it as a golf club.

Oh no! I was really hoping the previous page was a fake-out to make us think the doc chopped her tail off. I had noticed her tail in the previous chapter on that one page, but somehow in my mind it just looked like it was disappearing into the darkness under the bed.
Even if there was no way to truly 'fix' her tail, if it was otherwise perfectly fine why would they amputate it?
