Another mini comic, this time in flat colors! \o/

I've had this comic drawn out in my sketchbook for a couple years now lol! Finally got the point where it fits as a flashback, showing how Stephanie and Valerie first met~
(Not to mention Rin's first day as a volunteer pack counselor for their Tail Scouts troop!)

They are 6 years old here, so roughly 4 years before 'present day' in the main story, and this mini comic takes place about 2 weeks before the events that occurred in Rin's memory in "Last Call," where she rescued the girls from that cave.

We also finally get to see the Tail Scout uniform colors! This honestly all stems from Valerie's 'theme song,' (really just the song that made me think of her when I was first designing her,) "Raspberry Beret" by Prince & The Revolution.

The next comic will be a longer one, I think. Also... thematically probably the darkest one to date, so enjoy the brightness while you can~ ;3

Ohmigosh, this is just too precious! What an adorable pair, and what an utterly adorable scene! I'm so with Val; there is something to be said for traditional ways to do things, but why does everything always have to be the same. Her way of building a campfire is definitely very solid! *chuckles* And Steph's reaction is absolutely funny, too!

It's so lovely to finally get to see this, and it does make for a terrific flashback type thingiemadoodle! >^_^< The camp counselor is right; they're really good kids >^_^<

Thankya! Yeah, I like sneaking in as much as I can in short comics like this: We get to insantly see that both Val and Steph are smart kids, but also approach things differently. Steph is the star pupil, following directions with passion and has the most badges to show for it, where Valerie approaches things with a bit more of an "outside the box" perspective.
Or things like how bullying doesn't affect Val, as she just pays it no mind, but it bothers Steph, who thinks everyone should be treated with kindness.

It may be a short comic, but I fit as much as I can into these pages to reward people who pay attention~ ;3
