To see how far I've come as an artist, I decided to redesign some of the characters I created when I first started making digital art. And I find the first anthropomorphic character I ever created to be the perfect character to start with. This is Julia, and I created her during a time where my tastes and thoughts were quite simple, and I had no idea what kind of artist I wanted to be. As a result, she's as basic as my characters come, for she doesn't have any personality or backstory to speak of, and I never built a world around her.
All she really is to me these days is the precursor to my habit of putting purple in the color schemes of the characters I like the most. That, and my fetish for eyestalks, but that's a story for another time.
Still, this is a good start to this project, and it was nice to draw her once more after all these years.
