It's getting nuts, especially with DLC they're offering day one! Mario Kart at $80, Sonic Crossworlds can be $100, and Digimon's is like $120? I just... man.
Hehe, love the meme! B3

thats nothing, where i am pokemon legends z-a is 100 dollars and the dlc is 40 dollars, with tax thats around 158 dollars so almost 160 dollars for one game. alot of other games are 100 dollars to 115 dollars with tax its 113 to 130 dollars per game. its fucken absurd the prices they are wanting for this crap. game key cards are around 80 dollars and for some reason idiots keep trying to justify them. thats 92 dollars for just a license on a cartridge and once the online goes offline for the switch 2 those cards are going to be useless. on top of that if you DONT want them to be useless you gotta fork over money for an SD card compatible with that switch 2 which costs alot of money as is. so in reality your paying more for a game key card then what your paying for the cartridge with the game on it itself.

I remember hearing some publisher exec say they made something available for their "price sensitive" customers, and ever since then I can't help but think there must be a significant group of gamers who aren't price sensitive. I feel like it would explain some current trends.

I just not decided to not buy Sonic Crossworlds because of that price point (which I'm looking forward to buying at a discount 6 to 12 months from now)

I wouldn't blame streamers for buying day 1 or earlier since it's their job to get viewers and viewers want to see the newest games. For everyone else I think it's wise to wait since most games get better and cheaper over time.

the only problem is nintendo games never go on sale. sure you can wait for ps5 and xbox games to go on sale but nintendo is the main issue as their prices never ever drop. so their games on the switch 2 will be 100+ dollars until they go off the shelves. game stores like gamestop are no help either. they sell used games for 5 dollars less then the retail price games. so 100 dollar games go for 95 dollars. 115 dollar games go for 110 and so on. so yeah, its not ideal :/
