It was a scorching summer afternoon. The skies were clear, and the sun was setting down in the horizon. The conditions couldn’t be more ideal for the 25th annual Castelia City GP. This event was one of the city’s biggest tourist attractions. Visitors from all over the world would come just to catch a glimpse of any of their favourite racers. One key aspect in the success of this event was the fact that all the drivers were pokemon. To the marvel of hundreds of tourists, pokemon from all shapes and sizes would fit themselves into their self-made karts and compete against each other for the glory of becoming the next champion.
Of course, like in every racing sport, there were favourites and underdogs, but none was as popular and relevant as the current undefeated champion, a mere Treecko. This rather unremarkable Treecko had dominated the competition for the past 5 years in a row. He was the fastest and he knew it, hence why he took joy in teasing both his fans and his rivals alike. He would drive up to the starting line and showcase his prowess by revving up his kart’s engine, causing a ruckus and making his rivals breathe in the exhaust fumes of his kart, much to their annoyance. He would then look back at them with a smug grin on his face, knowing that he was going to win once again regardless of how hard they tried.
Nobody knew that Treecko’s confidence wasn’t only due to his own skills, but also his ace in the hole. For the past 5 years, Treecko had carried with him a lucky charm that helped him remain cool-headed in the track whilst also making him feel confident in his skills at the wheel. Of course, all pilots have their own type of charms and trinkets, but only Treecko had a tiny fan of his as a live lucky trinket. Years before, right after beginning his career in the world of racing, he met a peculiar Zoroark who showed great interest in his skills. However, a short chat with his first fan soon revealed that he was far more interested in his paws rather than his race results. As such, Treecko proposed a deal: The Zoroark would assist him in his races and in exchange, he would enjoy Treecko’s paws as much as he wanted. However, he omitted the part where Zoroark would be shrunk to a mere millimetre in size in the process, but given the fact that he didn’t make a run for it once the deal was sealed, Treecko deduced that he was delighted by his new small situation.
Five years later, just as Treecko keeps revving up his kart in order to tease his rivals, Zoroark is busy upholding his end of the deal. Plastered under the vast sweaty and musky sole of Treecko, the tiny Zoroark keeps getting repeatedly pressed down. The air around him is scarce, and whatever oxygen he manages to breathe is heavily tainted by the musky scent of Treecko’s paws. To anyone else, this would be torture, but for the tiny Zoroark it feels more like heaven. He exists in a constant state of bliss buried deep under a meaty and pliable green sole whilst surrounded by muggy air, scorching heat and deafening roars coming from Treecko’s kart.
