To say that Cubone's solo expedition to the wetlands of the grass continent had been a disaster so far would be an understatement. First, he got knocked out of a dungeon, then he had most of his gear stolen by bandits, and last but not least he got an awful case of stomach ache and dizziness after eating some berry he found laying on the ground. Furthermore, once he recovered a bit he found himself lost in an alien and strange jungle with towering vegetation and very weird terrain. Cubone was certain that even if his map hadn't been stolen he wouldn't be able to make sense of his current location. The landscape in front of Cubone's eyes didn't match with anything he had previously studied about the grass continent in the guild's library. However, at the same time the temperature and humidity felt very similar to that from the wetlands Cubone was exploring before he got lost. Cubone couldn't make any sense of his current situation. Nevertheless he opted to keep moving, not wanting to deal with wild pokémon or bandits once the night arrived. That was Cubone's plan at least, before it got shattered by a series of thundering sounds echoing in the distance. At first Cubone thought that those sounds were caused by battling pokemon or by a distant storm. However, the *THOOMS* didn't stop and instead kept periodically getting more and more intense. Sooen enough those sounds started to be accompanied by quakes. Those were faint at first, but quickly evolved into true earthquakes threatening to throw Cubone to the ground. At this point Cubone was panicking, his mind racing to find an explanation to all the chaos surrounding him. Unfortunately for him, the explanation presented itself in the distance. In a matter of seconds Cubone and a vast extension of the jungle he found himself in were left in the dark when a huge shadow was cast over the entire area. As Cubone would instantly realize, that shadow belonged to a Marowak, a gargantuan one to be more precise, which was walking in his general direction, each step bringing him closer and shaking the earth even more than with his last step. Presented with such an imposing sight, Cubone struggled to rationalize how a pokémon could grow to such a huge size. However, Cubone was right in thinking that it was impossible. Unknown to Cubone, that Marowak wasn't a colossal monster but rather a regular sized pokémon who happened to reside in the area. It was Cubone who, after consuming that weird berry he found on the floor, had been reduced to a meager 5mm (1/6 inches) in size, and the jungle he had been traversing for most of the day was just a patch of grass alongside a path in the wetlands he intended to explore. Unfortunately Cubone would not be able to reach that same conclusion since before he knew it his sky was replaced by the gigantic sole of Marowak's foot. There, Cubone was presented with the muddy underside of a foot that descended upon him at a speed he wouldn't have thought something so big could move. He didn't even have time to brace himself for the impact.

*THOOOM!!!*

Thankfully, Cubone survived the crash, mainly thanks to his extensive defense training at the guild. He found himself face-first with Marowak's sole, surrounded by an oppressive atmosphere and the strong musk of unwashed paws, but at least he was alive. However, his happiness was short-lived as with Marowak's next step he found himself dragged with the sole instead of falling back on the floor. Cubone's unlucky streak seemed to continue as he remained stuck to Marowak's sole for the rest of the day as he made his way through the wetlands towards the hut where he lived.

It wouldn't be until late in the afternoon, when the sun was starting to set that Marowak would finally pay attention to a small irritation he had been feeling on his foot all day. Bending his leg backwards and turning around he scanned his sole in order to find the culprit. Soon enough he found a pebble embedded right in the center of his foot. However, his eyes failed to focus on his other unwilling passenger, who after a whole day of trampling had been left in an unrecognizable state, completely drenched in sweat and caked in mud.
Having removed the pebble, Marowak was happy to resume his march towards his hut, already thinking of a well earned rest. As for Cubone, he was forced to endure a few more hours worth of steps before he was able to dislodge himself from Marowak's foot, as the giant peacefully slept. Nevertheless that would not be the end of Cubone's adventure as with his reduced size and without any signs of the berry's effect wearing off, only Arceus knows what else the grass continent has in store for this poor explorer.
