A lovely commission from refinedsalt featuring Ixen and Yori.

Sitting amidst the blooming flowers, the pair gaze out into the moonlight night, as the lunar flowers bloom, emitting a blue glow across the forest. The beautiful sight brings plenty of the denizens of Edarel from all across the world to sit and relax at the lunar flower festival, marveling at the luminescent plants.

Ixen: It's nice to finally get a chance to come, when I'm free and you have time away from your tests.

Yori: Yes, well...the festival happens once a year, so I would think we would get to come at some point. Just did not expect it to take this many years to do it.

Ixen nodded, quietly looking over the field of flowers as other denizens of Edarel likewise did the same. The king and queen relaxed, glad to be free of needing to deal with any political issues and simply enjoy their time together.

As they did, Yori began to gather a trace of the light in her paw, the visible mana particles emitted from the flowers sending her into a trance as she smiled, letting it dance in her palm before releasing them into the air.

Yori: ...I like Edarel.

Ixen: Oh? What's got you saying that.

Yori: Other worlds...they're always so artificial. Metal and machinery everywhere. And the magic ones still use so much of it. Edarelians...understand that magic requires a strong connection to the natural world. So it's nice, seeing it like this. something like this would have been paved over in some other world. That's all.

Ixen smiled, unable to hide the satisfaction of seeing Yori take on a more philosophical tone as she described it. It was rare for her to be this relaxed, though Ixen knew well enough the only times it ever comes up is when she is alone with him.

Ixen: Are you going to turn the festival into a magic lesson~?

Yori laughed before hitting him on the shoulder, jokingly calling him an idiot before leaning against his side and cuddling up to him in the grass.

Yori: I hope Edarel always stays like this.

Ixen: ...Me to. I'll do my best to keep it this way. For as long as I can...

Trivia

Achuak holiday - Lunar flower festival
18th - 21st of Nightlily
A famous, but very modest festival on Achuak that celebrates the blooming of the night lily flowers, which bloom only once a year, and only stay in bloom for a very short frame of time before closing back up again until next year. While the festival has many vendors and merchants selling items, as well as many places serving food, the festival’s primary focus is simply to sit and watch the flowers bloom at night as they light up a large field around the viewers and shimmer like miniature bulbs across the grass. The lunar flower festival is a very modest and calm festival, adored by many of Edarel’s citizens.

Agreed, it's why I enjoy getting these kinds of commissions with the two. Not often enough I get to show it.

I hope to get comms of all the different festivals in Edarel someday. Will take quite awhile though.
