While the D'Coolette family largely follows the ancient tradition set between Arthur and Bédoier, not all felt the need to participate in an exchange program with the Acorns. This sect became the Delaunay family, and it's not uncommon for a D'Coolette to marry into them. Such is the case here, as Rémi is cousins to Antoine.
Rémi follows his family legacy in preserving the natural state of Mercia and the surrounding 'Nations of Avalon.' Devoted to nature and the natural form, the family is completely nude and Rémi only wears a glove for his sword hand.
Skilled with navigation, he became one of their top sailors at a young age, patrolling the sea due to rising threats of pirates. It is due to this he has a wooden leg: he came upon a skirmish between two pirate ships, and recognized one as the 'Robin Hood of the Sea.' Coming to their aid, the battle resulted in him losing his leg. The leg he has now was a gift from Sottano, who knew of the Delaunay and had a leg constructed as close to the natural form as possible, down to the toes.
This gift spurred them into a full-blown relationship, writing letters to each other often as well as sharing moments whenever they cross.
