Ciara has always taken her duties seriously. First as Cearnach's heir, then as its queen, she has spent her whole life working to make the world a safer, better, happier place. That she has spent so much of her time with a sword in her hand is, as far as she is concerned, one of the regrettable dichotomies of the time in which she lives. She won't deny that some of it has been rather thrilling, however, or that she is the warrior her mother raised her to be. Her family has always led from the front and, even pregnant, she proudly carried out this long tradition.
This particular image is meant less as any one moment in her life and more as a sort of summation of who she is, from bold warrior to conscientious queen to loving mother. The work is ever ahead of her, but she will not let the perils of the unknown distract her from looking after her people.
And okay, so maybe I wanted something a little different for Mayternity this year. Everyone goes for the sexy stuff and I'll never get tired of that, but I was kind of in the mood for "My Mom can beat up your Mom" this year instead. (Not that Ciara beats anyone up who doesn't thoroughly deserve it, mind!)

It does sum her up quite nicely, doesn't it? Which isn't bad for a wing-it, I must say! I really like how this one turned out and how awesome, and yes, sexy she looks. Heh, and if she's a little bit scary here, that's just part of being a monarch, I guess. You've gotta have some way to keep folks in line! But she's really a nice gal underneath it all, and you'd have nothing to worry about from her.

And of course, the little bit of scariness because she is so imposing and all is also a good thing, because as a monarch, and, I would surmise, especially as a woman, she has to command respect! Which she definitely does, too >^_^< But hey, if she ever wants to escape for a bit and wind down, I know this fluffy blue and white tomcat who has a whole world and a few very good personal hiding places where she'll always be welcome >^_^<
