Kitla was preparing to cast a spell using Time Magic,
a very dangerous type of magic, indeed.
Hopefully no one bursts in at the last second to ruin things.
Kitla was feeling hungry one morning and decided she wanted to eat a pie. She made a mental note to bake herself a pie later, and sure enough, the very pie she was going to bake appeared before her. Kitla wasn't surprised by this and happily enjoyed her pie.
This is something Kitla does often. Whenever Kitla wants something to eat, she will make a note to herself to prepare the snack later, then she'll cast a spell on the snack to send it back in time to the moment she originally wanted it. Food is best enjoyed the moment you are craving it.
Of course, this doesn't mean Kitla can just avoid having to bake herself her new pie. If Kitla never bakes the pie, then there's nothing for her to send back in time. It would create a paradox if a pie that was never baked gets sent back in time. Kitla still has to bake the pie later, but now she can do it whenever she feels like it.
Time Magic is a very dangerous kind of magic that took Kitla years to master. Even still, it takes all her concentration to send an item back to the specific point she wants to send it to. Even the slightest disruption could cause the spell to-
BAM!
Dusty burst into the room smelling the pie Kitla just baked. Startled, Kitla accidently released the spell and threw it at Dusty. There was an explosion, and then silence. Dusty was gone.
Oh Bollocks...

Dusty found himself in an unfamiliar time and place. The way he was treated, however, was very familiar.
Dusty woke up to find himself suddenly outside, lying in the grass. Before he had a chance to gather his senses, Dusty was accosted by vines growing out of the ground and around his body. It didn't take long for his limbs to be bound and his torso to be bared.
Dusty was lifted off of the ground, forced to reveal his belly to the curious woman standing right behind him.
It was Kitla! She looked just as Dusty remembered her, wearing her traditional dress, except Kitla seemed to have no idea who Dusty was. The Valkyrie examined Dusty in his strange, modern clothing, marveling at the mysterious find.
Kitla began to investigate the strange boy in the only way she knew how. She began digging her fingers into Dusty's armpits, strumming them as though they were a harp. She then flipped Dusty around and shoved his toes into her mouth, blowing on them while pressing down on different spots on his sides as though playing a flute.
Just as Kitla found herself getting lost in the musical laughter she was creating, a voice called out and gave a suggestion. Maybe Kitla should try playing Dusty like a piano. That would've been an excellent idea... if Kitla knew what a piano was.
They didn't have pianos back in the days of ancient Greece. Who could this mysterious voice belong to?

This is not how Dusty imagined his day would end...
Despite there being a difference in age of 4000 years, Kitla found herself getting along quite well with her counterpart of the past. Kitla was surprised at how little had changed in her interests and personality over the years. I guess you just can't improve upon perfection.
The two Kitla's talked for hours. It was mostly the younger Kitla who did the talking, recounting activities she'd participated in that were quite recent to her yet ancient memories for the older Kitla. When the older Kitla did speak, it was to share her knowledge of new techniques she'd learned involving her favorite pass-time... tickling. Fortunately, Dusty was readily available to demonstrate the effectiveness of these techniques.
Poor Dusty was in absolute hysterics. His laughter had long-since devolved into desperate screaming with no hint of legible words even being attempted. Dusty had lost the ability to even beg for mercy after about an hour into this tag-team ordeal. With his legs forced into doing perfect splits, his thighs were so stretched out that each strum of the Valkyries' fingers felt as the they touched his entire leg at once.
It's any wonder how the two Valkyries could talk over so much noise, but they managed. The younger Kitla grew quite fond of this little instrument she found and wanted to keep him. The older Kitla promised that the younger Valkyrie would find her own Dusty one day... but she was more than welcome to borrow this one for more practice until then~
Despite sending Dusty back to a random point in time in space accidently, Kitla still knew where she could find him. In truth, she remembers this moment quite fondly from her past, as well as a few others like it.
This is also the reason Kitla sought out Dusty when she did, and took him to enjoy an entire weekend with him.
