Lapis learned that being famous can be tough.

Lapis started to organize a meet-and-greet at a local convention center so her fans could come and see her. This was something she loved doing and always enjoyed receiving praise and admiration from her fans in-person as opposed to through a live-chat on the internet. She always made sure to stay energetic and welcoming to all the fans she met no matter how long the event was.

After all the important stuff had been planned and organized (by Miles), Lapis just needed to get the display that would sit next to her at her table. Lapis knew she wanted a cut-out of herself since there was nothing better Lapis could think of for the picture. That's when she found a local photo studio that could help her get what she wanted.

Lapis wanted the perfect display to dazzle her fans.
Nothing dazzles them more than herself.

Lapis didn't think being famous could hurt so much.

The photography studio Lapis went to used different methods than she was expecting. They decided that Lapis' display would be more effective if it was made entirely out of Lapis. In order to make it work, Lapis would need to lose one of her dimensions to resemble a proper cut-out of herself.

Turns out, Lapis was a natural!

After being squished between two hydraulic pistons, Lapis' entire body was squished as thin as a sheet of paper. Most people freak out when they see the pistons coming and the final product never looks very good. Fortunately, Lapis barely moved and came out looking great. This is fortunate, as it takes at least 7 days for her body to regain it's proper shape and the convention was going to take place next weekend. If there was a mistake, there wouldn't have been enough time to fix it.

Once Lapis had been flattened, her body was glued to a cut-out piece of display-board and laminated to ensure she kept her shape. Her finished display was put into storage until the day of the meet-up. Because Lapis was unable to transport herself to the convention center, the studio was nice enough to deliver her themselves. Lapis was also unable to pay for their services, so the employees established a system where fans could pay a fee to take a picture with the display.

Once their services had been paid for, the photography studio used the rest of the funds to pay for Lapis to be delivered back home through the mail. She would start to regain her usual shape once the lamination was removed, but the studio left that up to whoever receives her. Lapis looked too good as a display for the studio to undo their good work.

Next time, Lapis will let Miles order the displays.
