This will be my March submission. Yes, I'm still trying to keep up with the goal of at least one new piece of art every month for the 2025 art calendar.
Here we see young 6 year old, Flipsy and Skipsy. Two sisters who are complete opposites, but still love each other very much. One is as girly as could be, though quite a little prodigy on the violin, the piano, ... or the bagpipes, though her favorite is probably the accordion, and the other is a rough and tumble tomboy who gives as good as she gets and is a wiz with a bat or a football, who would never let anyone hurt her sister!
Amazingly this is only the second picture to ever feature Flipsy&Skipsy. The first was the family portrait, Bits&Bobs: Kyaw's Cousins. However in that picture they are 12, where as here they are 6.
Flipsy and Skipsy are fraternal twins, hence, while they neither look nor act the same, they were born together, and therefore are almost exactly the same age. Suffice it to say they were close in the womb and have been super close ever since, despite taking on diametrically opposed interests. From the outside many see them as an odd couple, something that made it difficult for them to make friends as they were kind of a package deal and refused to be separated. They've always had each other, but it was at first disheartening that everyone saw them as so odd being so close and yet so different. They would eventually find their way though, without sacrificing who they are. Flipsy&Skipsy act as the secondary caretakers of Naw&Kyaw, their younger sister and younger cousin, respectively. Flipsy acts as the wise older one who often provides guidance and limits, while Skipsy is sorta like the wayward dad who instructs on how to have fun and what you can and can not get away with in life. Naw&Kyaw look up to them both and spend lots of time with them, sometimes more than even their mother&aunt, who are often busy running their family business to keep them afloat and independent.
Skipsy is a perfect Harlequin rabbit, meaning, her fur is split right down the middle into dark and light fur. Her sister Flipsy, has tasteful patches of dark fur that complement her beauty. Being highly attractive, she has many admirers.
The "Twister's" in the title is a contraction of "Twin Sisters". It also works nicely as a metaphor for how they tend to be a disruptive force.
