I only half-regret how little I was able to sneak in Taylor's love for music and her profession as musician and singer. I managed to get in some good page time in book 2 of a period with her former death metal band, Bad Luck, but beyond that - major plot and narrative forced her away from her creative passion in the books. I did manage to bring it back in book 5 where she is resuming concerts again, but it's more a background element than any major scene set piece like it was in book 2. Still, Taylor feels a deep connection to what she sings - the lyrics being windows into her soul and the pain she has carried all her life. It's a way of cathartic release for her, regardless if the crowd identifies with it or not. She's not doing it for them, she's doing it for herself.
