This actually makes so much more sense than a rapier. When Rarity goes all in she goes all in. If whining doesn't work, if manipulation doesn't work, she's DEFINITELY the type of mare to start swinging hard and fast and making you regret pushing her too hard.

alot of people don't realize this, nunchaku require extreme skill and dedication to weild effectivly, and notice she is weilding them manually, not with TK, which requires even MORE skill
rarity chose these for the reasons you list above but also because they are like her, simple on the surface, but with layers of complexity that only get more so the deeper into it you go, and like her...if you underestimate them you are going to get hurt...badly.
