Section 1: Into Mystic Cave Zone
The swirling portal deposited Team Lilac into a dimly lit cavern. Glowing purple crystals jutted from the walls, casting faint light across rusted machinery and jagged rock formations. The air was damp and heavy, filled with the faint hum of unseen mechanisms.
“Okay, where are we now?” Carol asked, her claws flexing as she scanned the surroundings. “This place screams ‘traps and trouble.’”
“This is Mystic Cave Zone,” Lilac said, holding Torque’s tracker, which beeped faintly. “It’s part of Sonic’s world. The shard must be somewhere in this maze.”
Milla sniffed the air, her floppy ears twitching. “I think I hear something mechanical.”
Neera spun her staff, its frost magic glinting faintly in the cave’s eerie light. “We should proceed cautiously. This place reeks of danger.”
The group moved forward, navigating a labyrinth of swinging spiked chains, crumbling bridges, and glowing crystals. Every turn seemed to present new obstacles, with collapsing platforms and hidden pits forcing them to stay alert.
“I’m starting to hate this place,” Carol muttered, dodging a falling stalactite. “It’s like it wants us dead.”
“Stay focused,” Lilac said, leaping over a series of crumbling platforms. “The shard’s close. We just need to keep going.”

Section 2: Miyu’s Ultimatum
Back in Avalice, Miyu stood before her defeated foes. In Shang Mu, Mayor Zou and his advisors were dragged into the central square, where Miyu addressed them.
“You have two choices,” she said, her voice echoing across the silent crowd. “Serve me willingly, or be forced to wear these.”
She gestured to a soldier holding a tray of metallic collars. “Slave collars,” Miyu explained with a chilling smile. “Once worn, they’ll strip you of your free will. You’ll obey me without question.”
Mayor Zou glared at her. “You’ll never have my loyalty.”
Miyu’s smile widened. “Then you’ll serve me another way.”
In Shuigang, King Dail was given the same ultimatum. The proud panda king looked at the collars with disgust. “I will never bow to a tyrant.”
“Then you’ll kneel as my puppet,” Miyu replied coldly.
With her enemies defeated and bound, Miyu’s conquest of Avalice neared completion. Her forces prepared for their next target, their grip tightening on the shattered land.

Section 3: The Mystic Cave Zone
As Team Lilac delved deeper into the labyrinth, the tunnels grew colder, and the distant hum of machinery echoed through the jagged walls. Each step seemed to bring new dangers, from collapsing ceilings to swinging pendulums.
Carol glanced around nervously, her tail twitching. “I really hope there’s no mantis creature at the end of this cave. I’ve had enough of those for a lifetime.”
Milla giggled softly, her ears perking up at the memory. “That’s funny—you said something just like that the first time I met you.”
Carol tilted her head. “Huh? Oh yeah, you mean after that Mantalith fight. That thing was bad enough, but the cave-in was what really almost did me in.”
Milla nodded, her expression warm. “You were trapped under all that rubble. I thought I wasn’t strong enough to help, but I managed to dig you out just in time.”
Carol smirked, her tone playful. “Well, I gotta admit, you’re tougher than you look, pup. I owe you for that one.”
Lilac glanced back, a smile tugging at her lips. “And here we are, stronger than ever. Let’s keep that energy—we’ll need it.”
The group pressed forward, their camaraderie lifting their spirits despite the dangers ahead.

Section 4: The Shard’s Guardian
At the heart of the cave, they entered a massive chamber. The shard hovered above an ornate pedestal, its glow illuminating the room. Coiled around it was a towering mechanical serpent with glowing red eyes, its sleek body glinting with sharp, metallic scales.
“Looks like this is it,” Lilac said, readying her stance. “Be careful—it’s guarding the shard with everything it’s got.”
The mechanical serpent lashed out with razor-sharp coils, sending waves of energy through the room. Lilac dodged its strikes with bursts of speed, while Neera used her frost magic to slow its movements. Carol leapt onto its back, slashing at its joints, while Milla hurled energy cubes, creating small explosions that destabilized its circuits.
“It’s focusing on the shard!” Neera shouted. “We need to dislodge it!”
Lilac charged up a Dragon Boost, her body glowing with energy. With perfect timing, she launched herself at the serpent’s core, striking the shard directly. The impact caused the serpent to let out a mechanical screech before collapsing in a heap of sparking debris.
Milla rushed forward, cradling the shard in her hands. “We got it!”
Torque’s device absorbed the shard’s energy, stabilizing the cavern. The traps and hazards that had plagued them began to deactivate, leaving the space eerily quiet.

Section 5: A Renewed Resolve
As they exited the cave, Lilac held the shard, its faint glow reflecting her determination. “That’s another shard down. We’re getting closer.”
“But we’re not done yet,” Neera said, her tone somber. “The more shards we collect, the more dangerous this mission becomes.”
Carol adjusted her scarf, her grin returning. “Dangerous? Sure. But we’re not stopping now. Let’s keep going.”
Milla nodded, her tail wagging slightly. “Together, we can do anything!”
As Torque’s device activated another portal, the group stepped forward, ready for the challenges that awaited them.
