Episode 3: Worlds Apart

Section 1: The Next World
The swirling portal deposited Team Lilac in a world vastly different from anything they had seen before. They stood at the base of a towering metallic fortress that stretched impossibly high, its spires crowned with glowing red lights. The air was heavy with the hum of machinery and the occasional burst of steam from hidden vents.
“Where are we now?” Carol asked, staring up at the ominous structure. “This place screams ‘evil lair.’”
Lilac glanced at Torque’s device, which displayed a faint energy signature. “This has to be one of Dr. Wily’s fortresses. He’s a mechanical genius—and by genius, I mean maniac. The shard is somewhere inside.”
Neera surveyed their surroundings, her grip tightening on her staff. “We’re likely to encounter hostile robots. Stay sharp.”
Milla sniffed the air, her ears twitching. “I can hear something moving inside.”
With no time to waste, the group entered the fortress. Its interior was a maze of twisting corridors, conveyor belts, and moving platforms. Mechanized sentries patrolled the halls, their glowing eyes scanning for intruders. Torque’s device beeped louder as the team ventured deeper, guiding them toward the shard.
“This is like every level in a video game that makes me want to throw my controller,” Carol muttered as she narrowly dodged a spinning blade. “Why are there always bottomless pits?”
Lilac rolled her eyes. “Focus, Carol. We’re almost there.”

Section 2: Miyu’s Ultimatum
Meanwhile, back in Avalice, Miyu’s campaign for dominance continued. With Shang Tu firmly under her control, she turned her attention to Shang Mu and Shuigang. Her forces moved with precision, surrounding both cities and cutting off their defenses.
In Shang Mu, Mayor Zou, a short but resolute red panda, stood at the central tower overlooking his city. “We won’t give in,” he declared to his advisors. “Not to her or anyone else.”
His resolve was tested moments later when a holographic projection of Miyu appeared before him. Her piercing eyes locked onto his. “Brave words for such a small leader,” she said with a smirk. “Surrender Shang Mu, or I’ll raze it to the ground.”
Mayor Zou clenched his fists. “We’ll fight to the last if we must.”
Miyu tilted her head, her smirk widening. “How predictable. Enjoy your stubbornness while it lasts.”
In Shuigang, King Dail, the wise and imposing male panda ruler, faced a similar ultimatum. Miyu’s hologram flickered in the royal hall as she addressed him. “Your rivers and trade routes are vital to Avalice. Hand them over, or I’ll destroy everything you hold dear.”
King Dail’s calm exterior betrayed little of his anger. “Shuigang has stood for centuries. You won’t bring us down.”
Miyu’s eyes gleamed with malice. “We’ll see.”

Section 3: The Mechanical Guardian
In Dr. Wily’s Fortress, Team Lilac reached the heart of the structure. The shard pulsed brightly in the chest of a towering robotic guardian, its design unmistakably one of Wily’s creations. The massive machine resembled a humanoid robot with spinning saw blades for hands and glowing red eyes. Its movements sent tremors through the floor as it locked onto the intruders.
“There’s the shard!” Lilac shouted, pointing at the glowing fragment embedded in the robot’s chest. “That thing’s powering it!”
“Of course, it’s a giant death machine,” Carol groaned. “Why can’t these things ever just be lying on a table?”
The guardian unleashed a barrage of energy blasts, forcing the team to scatter. Lilac darted forward, using her speed to evade the attacks, while Neera launched icy projectiles to slow its movements.
Milla tossed her energy cubes at the robot’s joints, creating small explosions that destabilized its balance. “It’s working! Keep hitting the weak spots!”
Carol leapt onto the robot’s arm, slashing at the shard. “C’mon, big guy! Is this all you’ve got?”
The robot retaliated with a powerful swing, knocking Carol to the ground. Lilac saw her opening and launched herself into the air with a Dragon Boost, striking the shard directly. The impact dislodged it, causing the robot to stagger.
“Now!” Lilac shouted.
Neera froze the robot’s legs, immobilizing it, while Milla retrieved the shard from the debris. The guardian collapsed with a deafening crash, its systems sparking as it powered down.
“We’ve got the shard!” Milla said, holding it carefully.
Torque’s device absorbed the shard’s energy, stabilizing the fortress. The mechanical traps and hazards around them began to shut down, leaving the structure eerily quiet.

Section 4: Unseen Battles
Back in Avalice, Miyu’s forces launched their attacks on Shang Mu and Shuigang. In Shang Mu, Mayor Zou led his people in a desperate defense, using the city’s technological advancements to hold back Miyu’s army. Despite their efforts, the invaders pushed closer to the city center.
In Shuigang, King Dail called upon his warriors to protect the kingdom’s vital rivers and trade routes. The pandas fought valiantly, their unity a testament to their king’s leadership, but Miyu’s forces pressed on relentlessly.
Unseen by Team Lilac, Avalice descended further into chaos as Miyu’s shadow grew ever larger.

Section 5: Onward Once More
As the portal activated, creating another swirling vortex, Lilac turned to her team. “That’s two shards down. Let’s keep going.”
“Wherever the next one is,” Carol said, adjusting her scarf, “I just hope it’s not another robot-filled nightmare.”
Neera remained stoic. “It doesn’t matter where we go. We’ll handle it.”
Milla wagged her tail. “As long as we’re together, we can do anything!”
The team stepped into the portal, unaware of the destruction Miyu was unleashing back home. Their quest continued, but the shadow of their greatest enemy loomed closer with each step.
