S: while Nox was visiting Earth once again, he's confronted by a bunch of mysterious people, they seem to be scientists...and in a blink of an eye Nox is knocked out and later he was awoken in what appears to be a laboratory, and inside of what looks like a huge empty tank, about the size of a small aquarium
L: Nox slowly comes to awareness, squinting at the bright - to him - lights. "Mmh... What... Wh-what's happening...?" He looks around as best he can.
S: one of the scientists notice Nox woke up, smirking a bit
"Well, looks like he finally woke up... what an interesting little species we have over here huh guys?"
L: Another scientist is looking him over from outside the tank. "He sure is... What even IS he?"
Nox quickly realizes what's going on. "...I-I'm not telling you that! Get me out of here!"
S: "Awww look, he's begging to be released... well news flash, we ain't! Just gotta do a couple of...tests on ya... maybe we could sell him for a fortune with how rare his species may be! I have no idea what he is, and it seems he's not willing to cooperate with us and tell us... we better...fix that"
L: Nox: "There's no WAY you're selling me!" He hits the glass, trying to break it with the ends of his legs, but nothing happens.
Scientist 2: "Haha, nice try, but that glass is reinforced! No way you're getting through! Anyway, think it's about time we got started..."
S: another scientist giggles at Nox's attempted escape
Scientist 3 - "Hehe... so pathetic!"
Scientist 1 - "Alright enough, Let's get started people!"
they hit a button on a control panel
"Let's see if this so called creature can breathe underwater"
suddenly, water begins to pour into Nox's tank, starting to quickly fill up
L: Nox: "Wh... N-no I can't, no I can't!" He quickly has to start swimming.
Scientist 2: "Oh yeah? Well, with you starting out so uncooperative, how can we know that for sure?"
S: "Exactly! Cause I honestly don't even believe it! Besides if he can't, this'll be a fun show to watch"
the water in the tank raises up even faster, the tank is deep as well, and it's gonna be filled up completely pretty soon
L: Nox takes some deep breaths while he can, then holds one, nervously looking out at the scientists as the water goes the rest of the way up.
Scientist 2: "And now we just have to wait..."
S: "That's the boring part, we don't even know how long he can hold his breath, it could be a while... I wish we could speed this up somehow..."
speaking of speeding, a green blur was zipping by at a high speed pasted the room where nox was, not even noticing nox in there...not yet at least
L: Nox just barely happens to notice that streak of green, and he hopes he recognizes them. "Ziblppy!"
Scientist 2: "What did he just say? Never been able to understand people talking underwater."
S: Scientist 3 - "I think he said...Zippy?"
Scientist 1 - "Huh? Who's Zippy?" they scratch their head a bit in confusion
Thankfully it seems like Zippy who was the green blur was just barely able to hear someone call his name before he could get too far away, he quickly zips back, standing outside the doorway where Nox was, he rubbed his eyes a bit as he was trying to get his vision clear
Zippy - "H-huh?? Did someone call my name??"
L: Nox scratches on the glass, trying his best to get Zippy's attention. "Ziblppy, hblelp!"
One scientist follows where Nox is looking, noticing Zippy. "Wha- How did you get in here!?"
S: Scientist 1 - "What the...is that uh...Pokémon?"
Zippy - "What in the world is going on here?!" Zippy looks at Nox who's trapped in the water filled tank, he gasps out of pure shock and speeds over there
"Nox!!!! What are you doing in there?! Are you ok?!"
L: Nox looks at Zippy fearfully and shakes his head, hoping they'll be able to get him out.
Scientist 2: "You can't be in here, grovyle! Just leave, and don't worry about this!"
S: Scientist 1 - "Yeah! This is a restricted area!"
Zippy turns around and growls at the scientists
Zippy - "Hey! Nox here is my friend!! You can't just capture him like that!!! You better release him right now or things are gonna get ugly fast!" he then whispers to nox
"Hang in there buddy...I've got you..."
L: Nox nods, and focuses on holding his breath for now.
Scientist 2: "Ugh, of course... Security! Get this Pokemon guy out of here!"
S: 2 security guards come in and get ready to take Zippy away, but Zippy wasn't having it
"Alright, I warned ya" Zippy then starts to zip around the whole group at high speed to catch them all off guard, punching them as well, he was too fast to get caught
L: Scientist 2: "H-how is he so fast!?" He gets down on the floor, hoping Zippy will leave him alone.
S: Scientist 1 - "My goodness!" he also gets down on the floor too
Scientist 3 - "Ahh!"
the guards did too
once Zippy got the group to get down on the floor, he quickly presses a button to drain the water from nox's tank
L: Nox quickly surfaces once he's able to. "Phew... Thanks, Zippy! Just gotta figure out how to get the tank open now..."
S: "I think it might be this button..." Zippy presses another button on the control panel, which makes the tank open up
The scientists and guards meanwhile quiver in fear
L: Nox steps out of the tank. "Right, let's get going... And you guys don't try to stop us, alright?"
Scientist 2: "J-just go..."
S: Zippy and Nox both get outta there, happy to have escaped this horrible place
L: Nox sighs. "That probably won't be the last time people try to experiment on me, I'm so different from anything on Earth... But still, thanks again, I doubt that was going to end well."
S: "It's no problem, I can't believe they would try to experiment on you like that... I'm so sorry...good thing I was here..."
nobody tries to stop either of them, all of them still shooken up
L: "Really hope it's still night, or we're gonna be having issues once we get back outside..."
S: "I think it's still nighttime... I think, I'm not 100% sure, but we're gonna find out"
L: "Guess we're gonna find out... Shouldn't be much farther to the exit, right? I was unconscious when they brought me here, so... No idea."
S: "I think its not that far, just follow me" Zippy leads nox to the exit, hoping it won't actually be that far
L: The two get there in just another minute, and without being harassed by anyone. "Okay, that looks like it's the exit."
S: "Perfect, now let's finally get outta here, hopefully you won't have to see this horrible place again!"
little do both of them know, the next day maaay be a little different...
L: "Yeah, really don't want to end up going through all this again..." Thankfully, when they get outside, it's night. "Nice, it was really gonna suck if it was day by now."
S: "Yeah, that would have added to your suffering... and I didn't want that... I'm gonna follow you home, to make sure nobody takes you, heh..."
L: "Might be best if I stay at your place, I still don't really have a home of my own here on Earth. Or in the Shadelands, honestly..."
S: "Well..technically my parents haven't met you yet... and they are home...so...uhhh unless you wanna meet my parents now I don't know what to do"
L: "I might scare them if they see me... But, if they end up being okay with me, that'd be a lot better than just sleeping in a cave or going back to the Shadelands."
S: "Yeah um, let's see what happens then...who knows maybe they will be ok with you here... my parents are pretty nice after all, hopefully you won't scare them too much"
L: "Worth a shot... It'd be nice to make some new friends here. Plus, I'd finally really have a place to stay!"
S: "Yeah definitely! So, I'll go ahead and lead you there then, it's not too far away from where I live"
L: "Alright then!" Nox follows Zippy, trying to think of how to make the best first impression he can.
S: after a few minutes, they eventually get to zippy's house
"Alright, this is the place... are you ready?"
L: "Um... Yeah. I'm thinking I should be off to the side so they don't fully see me right away, maybe just my eyes at first... Maybe that would help?"
S: "Well...actaully that's a bit more creepy with just your eyes...if I'm honest... maybe just your whole face or something?"
L: "That might be better, yeah. Sorry, not used to needing to worry about scaring people..." Nox positions himself so only his face will be visible to whoever's in the house once the door is opened. "Okay, ready."
S: "Alright, here we go..." Zippy takes a deep breath then he knocks on the door
L: Shortly after that, Zippy's dad, a sceptile, opens the door. "Ah, there you are, Zippy! How was your..." He notices Nox. "...WHAT is that!?"
Nox sheepishly waves. "H-hi, um... I hope I'm not scaring you too much."
S: "Hey dad...um, so you remember when I told you I made a new friend? Well, this is them... his name is Nox, and he's a little bit different from anyone else, but he's friendly! I-i promise! He may seem scary but, he's super nice!"
L: Sceptile: "You're... Friends with that thing? ...What even are they?" He cautiously looks over what little of Nox he can see.
Nox: "I'm an umbrakin, I'm from another world. Most things in it aren't as friendly as me." He slowly comes out of hiding.
S: "Yeah, he's a totally different creature, but he's one of the nicest ones I've ever met..." Zippy wraps an arm around Nox
L: Sceptile: "...I suppose he doesn't seem so bad... Have you just come by to introduce yourself, Nox?"
Nox: "Partly that, but also... I'm looking for a place to stay. Sunlight, um... Doesn't agree with my body."
S: "Yeah, sunlight is super dangerous to him, and he really needs a place to stay for the night, would it be ok if he stayed here? I should talk to mom about this too..."
L: Sceptile: "We should talk to your mom first, she needs to know about him before she sees him walking around in here."
Nox: "I can wait out here if you want, I don't mind."
S: "Yeah...go on and wait out there and me and my dad will go talk to my mom about this"
L: Nox: "Alright, no worries." He sits down.
The sceptile brings Zippy inside. "Hey, honey? Zippy's new friend is here, but... We have to talk about how he looks first."
S: zippy's mom, a beautiful pink lizard looks up from a book she was reading, noticing Zippy and Sceptile
Zippy's mom - "Oh? What about it honey? Is there something wrong?
L: Sceptile: "Not really, but... I met that new friend, Nox, and they're some kind of monster. He called himself an "umbrakin"."
S: "An...umbrakin? I've never heard of those before... is he...friendly?"
Zippy - "Yeah! He is!"
L: "Apparently he's from another world as well, that's why we haven't heard of those. As unsettling as he looks, I can tell he has no intention of hurting anyone."
S: Zippy's mom - "Well, ok then...lemme go meet him then so I can see what he looks like"
L: "Just be ready for how he looks." He heads back to the front door with her and Zippy, and opens it again.
Nox is still out there, and looks at the lizard. "Ah, I guess you're Zippy's mom, huh?"
S: "O-oh my..." zippy's mom was definitely frightened at Nox's look
Zippy - "Don't be scared mom, he's really nice I promise you!"
L: Nox: "Yeah, I am! I wish I had an easier way to show that, but I can't exactly change how I look..."
Sceptile: "He certainly caught me off guard as well, but he does seem fine."
S: Zippy's mom - "Well, I certainly didn't expect him to look like this, but I suppose he does sound nice, so...what exactly is he doing here?"
L: Nox: "Just looking for a place to stay, since sunlight hurts me pretty bad. I don't have many options for where I can go during the day."
Sceptile: "I don't see much issue with that, but I wanted to run it by you first."
S: "Well...I guess that's ok... if your zippy's friend then you must take good care of him... alright you can stay with us then"
Zippy - "You hear that zippy?? You can stay with us! How exciting!"
L: Nox: "Great, thanks! I've never seen the inside of a house before, I bet I'm gonna like this!"
Sceptile: "Hopefully those spikes on your back don't end up damaging anything while you're asleep..."
S: "Shouldn't be too much of a problem for you right Nox?" Zippy looks at nox with a happy smile
L: Nox: "Yep, I can probably find a spot where we won't have to worry about that. I don't think I move a whole lot in my sleep, either."
Sceptile: "Alright, good to know."
S: Zippy's mom - "That's good...well, come on in then"
Zippy - "Let's go Nox, I'll show you my room!"
L: Nox: "Sure, I bet I'll like it!" He goes with Zippy to their room.
S: "I think you will"
Zippy opens the door to his room, it's really cool...it has a bunch of sonic decor and posters
L: Nox looks around. "You're a big fan of that blue guy, huh? Think you mentioned his name is Sonic."
S: "Uh uh, yeah! I love sonic! Ever since I was little I've always admired him! And now having his speedy powers is like a dream come true! I didn't always have these powers believe it or not"
L: "Oh, really? I thought you were just born like that... How'd you end up so fast?"
S: "Well, basically... I was called in to do a scientist experiment when I was a little younger...and they would pay me some really good money, so I decided to take the job... and let's just say...their experiment was a success and well...I got my super speed, now I go just as fast as sonic, and I can even jump like he does...you should have seen the look on my parent's faces when they first found out"
L: "I guess not all scientists are bad then, that's pretty cool! Maybe I should see if I can find some nicer scientists at some point..."
S: "Yeah not all scientists are evil like that... some of them are really nice, I'll have to see if I can help you with that at some point, but yeah that's how I got my powers, pretty cool huh?"
L: "It is, yeah! Hope I can get some kind of cool power like that myself sometime!"
S: "Maybe someday you'll get lucky! But for now, how about we lay down and get some rest... I'm pretty tired after what just happened today"
Zippy goes over and lays down in his very comfortable bed, yawning almost immediately
L: "Yeah, think the sun's coming up soon... Bedtime for me too. Goodnight, Zippy." Nox lays down, closing his eyes.
S: "Goodnight Nox! You can come up here on my bed if you wanna get more comfortable, there's plenty of room!"
L: "Oh, really? I wasn't really sure... But okay, yeah! I'll try not to tear anything..." Nox gets up and carefully climbs onto Zippy's bed, laying next to him. "Man, this is SO much more comfortable than anything I've ever laid on before..."
S: "I told you so! It's very comfy!" Zippy pulls up his huge blanket to cover Nox with it so he's even more comfortable, he smiles
"There you go, all snug and warm!" Zippy rests his head on Nox's before yawning again
L: Nox gives Zippy a hug, seemingly already on the way toward falling asleep from how comfortable he is as he closes his eyes again. "Thanks, Zippy..."
S: Zippy hugs nox back and smiles even more
"No problem...goodnight!" he closes his own eyes and eventually falls asleep, still hugging nox as he does
L: Nox soon falls asleep as well, holding Zippy with a little smile still on his face.
S: Zippy smiles a little as well, a slight blush on his face as well as they sleep peacefully
L: Some time later, though, when Nox wakes up, he finds himself in a somewhat familiar place... He's back in the laboratory he'd been taken to before, now tied up, and quickly sees Zippy in the tank he'd been in earlier! "Wha... Z-Zippy! Wake up!"
S: Zippy groans a little in his sleep, but eventually he wakes up
"Nox...it's still early why are you--" his sentence stops cold as he quickly takes in his surroundings, now HE'S in the tank instead of Nox!
"...no....no no no no!!!!! No this can't be happening!!! This has to be a nightmare!"
L: Nox: "H-hang on, I'll get you out!" He struggles in his bindings, but he can't get free.
Shortly after, one of the scientists from before comes in! "Ah, good, you're both awake. When we saw the speed of that grovyle - Zippy, I believe his name is - we just HAD to figure out what he's capable of!"
S: another scientist from before also comes in!
"Yeah!! That speed is insane for a grovyle!"
Zippy - "Grrrrr!!! You guys again?! I thought you learned your lesson from last time!!! Don't tell me it was you who did this!!!"
L: Scientist 2: "Oh, we learned alright, that you're the bigger threat of the two of you. So, it'll be you first, and once we're done, we'll bind you up like... Whatever he is, and we'll finish that experiment we were TRYING to do earlier."
Nox growls. "Let him go RIGHT now, or you're gonna be seeing just how sharp my legs are..."
S: Zippy gulps when he heard the word bind, he hates not being able to move, and the thoughts of that happening scares him
"Y-yeah! You tell them Nox!"
another scientist just laughs at Nox
Scientist 1 - "Ha! Like we're scared of you now, your all tied up! You can't move! Alright, now let's get this experiment going shall we??"
L: Scientist 2: "Yep, let's FINALLY do this." He presses a button, and the tank Zippy is in starts to flood!
Nox: "No, NO!" He struggles harder as he watches.
S: Zippy looks at the water coming into his tank with a fearful look
Zippy - "No...no please no...don't do this to me!!! Please dont do this me!!!!" he whines and whimpers, already having to swim to stay afloat "...mommy!!"
L: Nox: "ZIPPY!"
Scientist 2: "Yeah yeah, whine all you two want, not like we have to pay attention to that."
S: "Nox!!!! Help me!!!" Zippy looks up as the water is nearing the top, he really doesn't wanna go underwater, but it looks like he may have no choice soon
Scientist 1 - "Awww the little grovyle is begging for his mommy, such a shame she ain't here to save you! Hahaha!!!"
L: Nox yells in anger as he pulls and pulls at his bindings, putting everything he has into it, still doing nothing... But, nearby, a small case shakes some.
Scientist 2: "Struggle all you want, you're not gonna... Hang on, did that case we're keeping the emeralds in just move?"
S: "Huh? No it can't be, you must be imagining things...focus guys!"
eventually Zippy had to start taking deep breathes before holding his breath as the water floods to the top, he whimpers out bubbles as he sinks down some, looking at Nox desperately as he didn't even see the case moving
L: As Nox keeps struggling, the case slowly pulls toward him, before falling off the table it's on and opening, 7 different colored gems falling out and spilling to the floor.
Scientist 2: "...Th-the emeralds are reacting to him..."
S: "What??? That can't be..."
Zippy notices the emeralds immediately as the chaos emeralds...his mouth almost drops open in shock at them, but he keeps his mouth closed as he holds his breath
L: Nox glares at the scientists, furious at them for scaring his best friend. "I'm not... Letting you do this... Any more!" The emeralds start to float around him, darkness beginning to emit from them.
Scientist 2: "W-we need to leave! Get security in here!" He nervously backs away.
S: Zippy - "Whblat....thble..." Zippy is absolutely shocked at what he's seeing
Scientist 1 - "SECURITY!!!!!" he also nervously backs away
L: In just a couple seconds more, Nox is entirely obscured... Then, the darkness partly fades, and Nox is a fair bit different; his body is now entirely black except for his eyes, which are now white, and it almost looks like shadows are extending off of him. He effortlessly tears through his bindings and gets up.
Upon seeing this, one of the scientists panics and just bolts from the room.
S: Zippy - "N-nblox!!!" Zippy covers his mouth as his face turns red, he tries to hang in there
Scientist 1 - "Uhhhh....."
L: Hearing Zippy, Nox darts toward the tank so fast he's briefly just a dark blur, jamming the spike of one of his legs through its glass like it's nothing. He pierces a second one into it, and pulls with so much force he shatters the glass entirely, sending the water spilling into the room!
S: the force from it sends Zippy tumbling slightly, and now the room has about 2 inches of water on it, he gasps for air as he stands up, looking at nox and his new form
Zippy - "Oh my....goodness, the chaos emeralds....t-they must have reacted to you some how!"
L: Nox: "Come on, we're leaving." His voice is deeper, with a slight reverb to it. He stays next to Zippy, watching the remaining scientist to make sure they don't try anything.
S: Scientist 1 - "Ugh, I'm not afraid of some super formed creature! Get back here zippy!!!" they charge at Zippy and start to pull them back to the broken tank
Zippy - "Ahhhh!!! Nox!!!"
L: Nox grabs the scientist, pulling them away from Zippy. "Don't you DARE touch him again!" He throws that scientist a good 10 feet away!
S: Scientist 1 - "Ouch...."
Zippy - "Whoa...Nox that was amazing!!! Quickly, let's get outta here now!"
L: "Right, let's go..." Nox leads Zippy through the building, ready to defend him if anyone else tries to stop them.
S: Zippy is still in shock that this is happening, Nox looks so much cooler in this form...and eventually both of them finally exit the building, safe and sound
L: The sun is up by now, but Nox doesn't seem to care, and starts to calm from his anger. "I'm sick of that place... Are you okay, Zippy?"
S: "Yeah...i-i'm good... I don't know what just happened but I'm happy I didn't have to drown or anything... that was scary..."
L: "So, um... What's happening to me right now?" Nox looks himself over. "And why isn't the sunlight hurting?"
S: "Well... it seems the chaos emeralds must have had some kind of reaction to you, and now you look like your in some kind of super form, and maybe your new super form doesn't let sunlight effect you... I'm kind of jealous honestly, I've always wanted those chaos emeralds to give me some kind of super form too"
L: Nox has fully calmed down now. "Huh... This is really cool! Don't think I'd mind this being a permanent thing, if that's how that works."
S: "It isn't permanent... eventually you'll go back to normal, which at this point it should be soon... so we better get you into the shade before that happens so the sunlight doesn't hurt you"
L: "Yeah, better find a good spot... Good thing this seems to let me see in light like this too." Nox starts searching around, taking advantage of his new speed.
S: "That's good"
eventually they find a good shady spot, and just in time too, the emeralds inside Nox begin to go away, they hover above him for a good few seconds before flying away, nox is now back to his normal self
L: As Nox reverts to normal, he nearly collapses from exhaustion, breathing heavily. "H-holy crap... S-so tired..."
S: "Yeah...the emeralds can do that to you sometimes after they are used, don't worry...you shouldn't be tired for too much longer"
L: Over a couple minutes, Nox does recover. "Okay, I'm good... Man, that was all so cool, I hope we find those emeralds again!"
S: "Me too honestly! I wanna see if I can get some kind of super form from those emeralds too! I bet I'll look awesome!"
L: "We'll have to remember to try that if we find them again. Hopefully they didn't spread out too much, I saw them flying away..."
S: "It may be a bit of a mission to get them back, but I'm sure with my speedy powers we could get to them no problem!"
L: "Yeah, if anyone would have an easy time finding them, it'd be you, that speed would be a huge help."
S: "Definitely! Anyways, it's been too crazy for me, I think I should head back home so my parents don't worry about me"
L: "Oh jeez, right! If they're already awake, they're gonna be so worried about you! I remember your place not being far, so I think I'll be able to handle the walk there..."
S: "Alright then, I'll see you around Nox, hopefully nothing like this happens to us again..."
and so, Zippy speeds away back to his home, relieved that everything turned out ok
