I realized recently that there were visuals for the characters of Partners, but not their fair city!

Not quite to scale; the buildings represent buildings like those squiggle bumps represent mountains on a map. Also, there are plenty of things missing; it's more just a general... visual.

Photoshop 6, actually. I have this technique with selection lassos and fill tools that lets me make lots of basic shapes and the like. I used to actually ink with this technique, and it was a very polished look, but the fluidity of the lineart suffered a lot, so I learned to draw instead. Still, it makes for some very solid and easy city-building. [/Random trivia]

That is a rather interesting dome design. I suppose the inner cylinder adds a considerably amount of strength to the structure?

It actually has more to do with how the weather station works, as it has to interact with the outside world as well as the inner dome.

'Cause high schoolers aren't way bigger spenders than kids? \=) You would probably want the smaller kids to go home first. There are also other logistical reasons to have them where they are, I just haven't labeled them on the map yet. Plus, if I switch them around, it breaks the story.

Hmmmm... i beginning to think that, depending on the contents of said story, I really REALLY should sit down and give it a read. Does it contain anything particularly relelvent to the idea of those, uh... those underwear sticker things you have pics of? The ones that form to boners and stuff? If this at all contains anything close to "a casual approach to sex and sexuality" or even "a mostly clothing optional society", then i definitely know what I'm spending a few hours doing sometime this week .:3

I will save you what I suspect will be a lot of time; it is not a porn story. :p
It does have sex in it occasionally, but more with the kind of frequency you'd see in a novel or movie. Though their attitudes are a lot more functional. It's basically not as super prudent and backwards as real life, but also not as weirdly one-note as say, Kit 'n Kay Boodle or something.

Partners is the story of Natalie Grayswift, a warm-hearted, fun-loving dork of a high schooler, who leads a happy life in a peaceful, sexually liberated future. Craving more than this offers, she finds escape from her somewhat idyllic world in the action and adventure of comic books. Together with her sassy girlfriend Carrie Oakenfield, she foils the plots and plans of the school bully, Cedric, who takes advantage of the progressive era of peace to cause mischief. The girls' simple lives are abruptly interrupted when their school is devastated by an attack that nobody understands the origins of. Now, together with her friends, Natalie must find out if she has the courage to rescue those she cares about from real danger, and uncover the threat that lurks within Locksmouth.

I wonder if anyone ever realized that the city looks like a giant cock head. I imagine two city planners looking outside the nearly completed structure stepping back.

I can't believe it only now occurred to me to wonder about, but what's the world outside the domes like? Is the purpose of the domes primarily for weather control, is the outside a nuclear wasteland type setting, and the domes are for protection, or is it a mix somewhere in the middle(if not something completely different)?
