Living across the pond, you don't get the day today interactions we have to deal with with the political right. You live in this little grass is greener idea over there in the uk. Like there are people who grass is greener for what's in the UK versus what's in america.

It's a typical, and all too common, human impulse. You aren't unique.

Trumps allies are decidedly anti-LGBTQ+. They are decidedly pro-theocracy, openly now (MTG proudly saying she's a Christian Nationalist).

You were blessed with, however flawed it is, the ability to go to the hospital. And not end up with a $30,000 bill because you didn't have insurance. Because you can't afford 686 a month, when you only make $22 an hour (that is, literally, what my monthly would be for private insurance through work). You don't have to worry about declaring bankruptcy after you get sick. And hope to God you don't get sick again before those 7 years are up.

We currently have limited the insurance company so they can't deny you coverage for pre-existing conditions. We currently have made it so anything preventative does not cost you a copay. All of this was the Affordable Care Act. The closest America to get to the system you have. And now? Even in his first term, Trump wanted to take that down. But he had people on his staff that limited him. That foiled him. Now all he has is sycophants.

See, half my family is British. I have no illusions that the system there is perfect, or so fantastic it shits golden blow job's with every check up. I also know a lot of your system's current issues are due to funding cuts by the conservative government over the last, what, 14 years? That the big reason you have such shortage of nurses is BREXIT. Because a fair bit of your nurses were from other EU countries.

So the risk of sounding rude, though I am a punk, so sometimes I just don't give a shit if I sound rude: maybe you should come live here, before you start commenting on how great it is with the Republicans in control of everything now. Maybe you should see the reality of it, instead of your little bubble over there in the uk. Then maybe you should then have an opinion and say shit.

The ACA isn't even anything like national health insurance, it forced people to buy insurance they could not afford or pay a penalty. Trump tried to remove it because the people wanted that but McCain stopped that out of spite because the American people loved Trump and not him. Anyone who denies it is lying through their teeth. This rise of political in furry seems to have come from two main sources I beleive:
1. As furries have become more socially acceptable, the Fandom has grown larger. And like anything dealing with Dunbarxs Number (look it up) we got cliques. Yeah, we had jokes about foxes and otters, but they were good natured. Now it's "oh you don't think as I do? Your BAD.

But this is intertwined with #2: the rise of web 2.0 and the extreme monetization of the internet in the form of algorithms. It put people in bubbles, down rabbit holes (and not the FUN rabbit holes surrounded by fur) until they were only in echo chambers and were basically slowly radicalized. It happen to almost everyone, and furries are still human.

The Fandom has gotten extremely judgemental. And that creates fissures and reactions. And people feel they must loudly proclaim thier stance and hang everyone else! And if you disagree with them,well, your just an idiot, and they will talk down to you and harass you! Oh, and any demonstrable fact that contravenes (sp) thier version of reality is FAKE NEWS or an illuminati conspiracy to control minds!
Oh yeah, and you're trying to stifle thier freedom of speech!

Note I didn't say a particular side? Because they all do it.

I don't recall Trump saying anything about homosexuals and as for transgenders, it's not merely a conservative viewpoint, but plenty of women feel that they are not just men with tits. And certainly people before reaching adulthood should NOT be allowed to change their gender or be given puberty-blocking drugs. Politics aside, Wikipedia is a website where anyone can write anything they want on it, so I put limited faith in it. Also, as for transgenders, plenty of people who are not otherwise conservative do not consider women to be men with tits. J. K. Rowling got into big trouble for saying as much, though many if not most people agree with her.

As for animals, the only ones known to change their genders are clownfish, where a male may become female if a female fish dies, or angelfish where the reverse happens. And they do not choose to do this, the process in automatic and involuntary. You can guess why the protagonist clownfish was so anxious to find Nemo in the movie.

And quite simply, if a man can be a woman for absolutely NO other reason than he *identifies* as one and no one is allowed to say otherwise, then I am not a transphobe nor a TERF because I do not identify as one and no one is allowed to say otherwise. I do not have a political identity. Other than "independent." I call it how I see it happening right in front of me. I am actually extremely left. I believe in police being held responsible for their actions. I believe in smaller government and 90% of regulations and laws being for business and government conduct instead of the people. I believe in free school lunches because it's not fair that our criminals are fed on tax payer dime but not our children. You have my "political identity" all wrong based on what infuriates me about the party I was told had my back. But they have done nothing but back stab. And the instant I show anger, people like you claim I'm doing "mental gymnastics" and claim I cannot be changed. Huh, projecting, are we? I would have voted for Bernie. Ironically Bernie Sanders (an independent) was the one who spoke publicly about how the Democrats alienated the working people, while most Democrats seem to not realize Trump's victory was not because the American people were so stupid and ignorant, but because the Democrats ignored them and have not learned their lesson.

Nobody is complaining about kids being served lunches at school; we know many of them come from poor or abusive households. Ironically they came up in the news last time when Michelle Obama tried making school lunches more nutritious and ended up making them inedible. I am reminded of the Oz stories I read as a boy where one professor tried making "square meal pills" and they only got people angry with him.

And just because we hear "support the police" doesn't mean we view them as doing no wrong. There was public outcry over several police officers having sent a boy back to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer to be murdered, and everyone agreed they should have been fired, which they were. Unfortunately their union sued the city and they had to reinstate the police officers because the city could not afford to fight them in court. I live in Chicagoland and one policeman killed a young black man and the city covered it up for years until one judge finally forced the video of the incident to be released to the public. Finally the police officer was punished and mayor Rahm Emanuel did not run for reelection. President Obama said nothing because Emanuel had been his chief of staff beforehand.
