Living across the pond, you don't get the day today interactions we have to deal with with the political right. You live in this little grass is greener idea over there in the uk. Like there are people who grass is greener for what's in the UK versus what's in america.

It's a typical, and all too common, human impulse. You aren't unique.

Trumps allies are decidedly anti-LGBTQ+. They are decidedly pro-theocracy, openly now (MTG proudly saying she's a Christian Nationalist).

You were blessed with, however flawed it is, the ability to go to the hospital. And not end up with a $30,000 bill because you didn't have insurance. Because you can't afford 686 a month, when you only make $22 an hour (that is, literally, what my monthly would be for private insurance through work). You don't have to worry about declaring bankruptcy after you get sick. And hope to God you don't get sick again before those 7 years are up.

We currently have limited the insurance company so they can't deny you coverage for pre-existing conditions. We currently have made it so anything preventative does not cost you a copay. All of this was the Affordable Care Act. The closest America to get to the system you have. And now? Even in his first term, Trump wanted to take that down. But he had people on his staff that limited him. That foiled him. Now all he has is sycophants.

See, half my family is British. I have no illusions that the system there is perfect, or so fantastic it shits golden blow job's with every check up. I also know a lot of your system's current issues are due to funding cuts by the conservative government over the last, what, 14 years? That the big reason you have such shortage of nurses is BREXIT. Because a fair bit of your nurses were from other EU countries.

So the risk of sounding rude, though I am a punk, so sometimes I just don't give a shit if I sound rude: maybe you should come live here, before you start commenting on how great it is with the Republicans in control of everything now. Maybe you should see the reality of it, instead of your little bubble over there in the uk. Then maybe you should then have an opinion and say shit.

The ACA isn't even anything like national health insurance, it forced people to buy insurance they could not afford or pay a penalty. Trump tried to remove it because the people wanted that but McCain stopped that out of spite because the American people loved Trump and not him. Anyone who denies it is lying through their teeth. now we just have to hope trump can repair the flaming wreckage of an economy biden's "bidenomics" caused and see if he can end the wars in ukraine and the middle east (a 2nd time for this war). oh, and finish the border wall.

but of course, i know you leftists don't want that because you think out of control inflation and forever wars and believe a nation with no borders actively being invaded for 4 years straight are all good things and things to be celebrated.

This rise of political in furry seems to have come from two main sources I beleive:
1. As furries have become more socially acceptable, the Fandom has grown larger. And like anything dealing with Dunbarxs Number (look it up) we got cliques. Yeah, we had jokes about foxes and otters, but they were good natured. Now it's "oh you don't think as I do? Your BAD.

But this is intertwined with #2: the rise of web 2.0 and the extreme monetization of the internet in the form of algorithms. It put people in bubbles, down rabbit holes (and not the FUN rabbit holes surrounded by fur) until they were only in echo chambers and were basically slowly radicalized. It happen to almost everyone, and furries are still human.

The Fandom has gotten extremely judgemental. And that creates fissures and reactions. And people feel they must loudly proclaim thier stance and hang everyone else! And if you disagree with them,well, your just an idiot, and they will talk down to you and harass you! Oh, and any demonstrable fact that contravenes (sp) thier version of reality is FAKE NEWS or an illuminati conspiracy to control minds!
Oh yeah, and you're trying to stifle thier freedom of speech!

Note I didn't say a particular side? Because they all do it.

Most rich people are actually middle-aged folks who have worked very hard all their lives and created successful businesses. They aren't criminals at all and their contribution to society is immensely positive. There are cheating scumbags in every sphere of society, however, so of course there are terrible people in the business world. The idea you can paint most of them as awful, though, is absurd rubbish, it is a massive display of ingratitude and lack of charity toward ones fellow man. If you will think of people with money as inherently awful then you lose legitimacy when calling attention to the actually awful people, because you've created a standard that has no fairness, balance or coherency.

And certainly people before reaching adulthood should NOT be allowed to change their gender or be given puberty-blocking drugs. Politics aside, Wikipedia is a website where anyone can write anything they want on it, so I put limited faith in it. Also, as for transgenders, plenty of people who are not otherwise conservative do not consider women to be men with tits. J. K. Rowling got into big trouble for saying as much, though many if not most people agree with her.

As for animals, the only ones known to change their genders are clownfish, where a male may become female if a female fish dies, or angelfish where the reverse happens. And they do not choose to do this, the process in automatic and involuntary. You can guess why the protagonist clownfish was so anxious to find Nemo in the movie.

And quite simply, if a man can be a woman for absolutely NO other reason than he *identifies* as one and no one is allowed to say otherwise, then I am not a transphobe nor a TERF because I do not identify as one and no one is allowed to say otherwise. No one has been able to explain to me in a scientific manner WHY men are women simply because they identify as one but I cannot be a wolf because I identify as one. worse yet, steam's support staff actually tried to get me to go to bioware's support staff so that i could grovel and beg to have the bane removed. hell no! the ban was applied on steam and steam is owned and run by valve. i'm not going to an entirely different company to appeal a ban that happened on YOUR platform, YOU handle it!

so, not only do the steam support staff lie and try to gaslight you and get you to follow the steam rules and guidelines even when following those rules and guidelines can get you banned on steam, now they're trying to get people to go to other companies support staff instead of steam's to handle things that happen on steam.

that place is the worst thing to ever happen to pc gaming. and iirc that games review rating on steam is stuck in the 70's% range cause valve's blocking people from switching positive reviews to negative. i'm surprised valve's moderators (the ones with the company logo next to their name) didn't setup another honeypot thread to further defend the game.

BUT at least we now know steam, sony, microsoft, and even nintendo don't actually sell video games at all now thanks to a law in commiefornia of all places. they just sell licenses (aka permission) to play video games. meanwhile, GOG actually DOES sell video games and with no drm! once you buy a copy of a video game from GOG, you have a copy of the installer (which even works if you use it offline) for as long as you want.

funny thing about that is that it means valve is running defense for a video game they're not even selling!

after all, companies now embrace the mantra of "you will own nothing and be happy". so, more and more of them are rejecting the concept of ownership entirely so that everything you exchange money for is a glorified rental.

So where do you get this idea that Free Speech means free of consequences? You are free to say what you want, without the government going after you. That is all the freedom of speech is in the first amendment. It is not mean you get to say whatever you want, and people can't disagree with you, or if they own the platform, ban your ass. It's a private platform. Your freedom of speech does not apply there. They can ban you from saying you wear red shoes and you can't do anything about it.

Also, even in america, freedom of speech has its limits with the government. For example, you cannot yell fire in a crowded theater. And then claim it was your freedom of expression. That is literally encased in law. Because what people like you don't seem to understand, is that right have responsibilities. That's how I was raised with a very conservative mother and father, but they always feed into me that when you have rights, you were supposed to responsibly wield them. And I know they weren't unique.

I give you that one, with the idea of public versus private accommodations being discussed in the past. Still, if you're a website that allows pornography and sex, even the extreme type, it would be totally hypocritical to ban political content of any type. Furaffinity at least has adopted a policy of "no mixing minors and sex" in any form. DeviantArt does not allow actual sexual intercourse to be shown.

In high school we were taught about several cases of speeches causing a crowd to become riled, and police telling the speaker to stop because of this. These cases went up to the US Supreme Court when Earl Warren was chief justice.

As for consequences, this is a revolting obfuscation, pretending that all consequences for speech are equally justified, when the contention is not that speech has consequences, but rather what those consequences are. The left has decided it has the right to define any speech it does not like under the rubric of "hate speech", which is to be repressed, and this does not apply to anything people on the left say, regardless of how venomous and hateful it is. I do not have a political identity. Other than "independent." I call it how I see it happening right in front of me. I am actually extremely left. I believe in police being held responsible for their actions. I believe in smaller government and 90% of regulations and laws being for business and government conduct instead of the people. I believe in free school lunches because it's not fair that our criminals are fed on tax payer dime but not our children. You have my "political identity" all wrong based on what infuriates me about the party I was told had my back. But they have done nothing but back stab. Ironically Bernie Sanders (an independent) was the one who spoke publicly about how the Democrats alienated the working people, while most Democrats seem to not realize Trump's victory was not because the American people were so stupid and ignorant, but because the Democrats ignored them and have not learned their lesson.

Nobody is complaining about kids being served lunches at school; we know many of them come from poor or abusive households. Ironically they came up in the news last time when Michelle Obama tried making school lunches more nutritious and ended up making them inedible. I am reminded of the Oz stories I read as a boy where one professor tried making "square meal pills" and they only got people angry with him.

And just because we hear "support the police" doesn't mean we view them as doing no wrong. There was public outcry over several police officers having sent a boy back to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer to be murdered, and everyone agreed they should have been fired, which they were. Unfortunately their union sued the city and they had to reinstate the police officers because the city could not afford to fight them in court. I live in Chicagoland and one policeman killed a young black man and the city covered it up for years until one judge finally forced the video of the incident to be released to the public. Finally the police officer was punished and mayor Rahm Emanuel did not run for reelection. President Obama said nothing because Emanuel had been his chief of staff beforehand.

since 2018...i've been punished for exercising my right to speak freely across the internet (mostly on steam which has led to my steam account being locked down numerous times...these last 4 times total to 50 weeks as a punishment for speaking in opposition to leftists)...like...30-40+ times now.

i follow rules and guidelines and i get banned.
i don't follow them and i get banned.

the last, and only, time i ever saw a proper block system implemented was back when sega still had the pso2 forum up on the games official website.

you block someone there and both people had each others profiles, posts, post history, PM's, and everything else blocked from view on both sides.

that's what an ACTUAL "block system" is supposed to be and do. sadly, almost ALL websites and platforms in the west WON'T do that even though they most definitely can do it.

the west prefers arguing and fighting each other instead of peace! and so western websites and platforms put a filter over posts that you can click to remove or only block PM/DM's or simply don't notify of replies.
