That's correct. In chapter 4 it was implied that Valencia is a descendant, though she wasn't sure at the time.

Huh. Looks like Barbara's family has prospered down through the years. And a lot of her Chaos-generated genetics have continued breeding true. Obviously, the Adapter did an excellent job.
