I'm picturing a scenario where the ghost of King Matheo haunts Shomari and Charon so bad, they both go stalk raving mad.
Then with the central leadership rendered incompetent, the tribes of Shomari's soldiers began fighting each other over who's tribe the new leadership will be chosen from to assume command in place of Shomari and Charon.
