N: *The two Pokemon are in the video world completing levels as they argue about who’s the best like rivals* Sky-Shaymin: I totally ace that level
L: The other Pokemon, a pidgey, scoffs at that. "Oh please, you wouldn't have had a chance without me and you know it."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Please, I can handle this myself. What world are we heading next. Bring it on
L: "Whatever's next, I've got this. You may as well just sit back and watch me prove I don't need you."
N: *They both headed to the desert world* Sky-Shaymin: A desert level, too easy for me
L: "Ugh, of course. I'm gonna get a bunch of sand stuck in my feathers..."
N: Sky-Shaymin: So you admit that I’m better then you
L: "Shush, you just got lucky this time. This is the only thing you have over me, that you don't have to worry as much about sand. That's IT."
N: *They went through a few levels as they reach the temple level of the desert*
L: "Well, this is at least not as bad as I expected. Apparently sand isn't much of an issue in this game, but it's still getting on me every now and then."
N: Sky-Shaymin: This temple could be challenging, but I’m ready for anything
L: "And I'm hardly gonna be able to fly in there... It's limited by the game anyway, but still..."
N: *They head inside and see some platforming challenge* Sky-Shaymin: Looks like the difficulty starting to increase now
L: "Makes sense, we're pretty far into this world at this point." Pidgey looks down to see what kind of penalty there'll be if someone messes this up.
N: Sky-Shaymin: Oh my, looks pretty dangerous. But we got pretty far in the game
L: "Well... Race you across!" Pidgey takes off into the platforming challenge.
N: Sky-Shaymin: You’re on! *They start do some platforming*
L: Pidgey expertly hops between platforms without issue, doing his best to get through faster than Sky-Shaymin.
N: *Eventually they both miss the jump and fall quite the distance as their flying ability can only slow their descent* Sky-Shaymin: Whoa!
L: "Argh, n-no!" Pidgey frantically flaps his wings, but the game won't let him fly any more on his current jump than he already has, and he keeps falling into the pit with Sky-Shaymin.
N: *They soon landed in the sand pit* Sky-Shaymin: Dang, well that was a miscalculated jump
L: "At least we both fell. Would've been better if it was just you though... Anyway, how do we get out?" Pidgey starts looking around.
N: Sky-Shaymin: There’s got to be a way out
L: Pidgey looks back up. "Can't just fly out, that's way too high." He starts walking around the pit, checking the walls.
N: Sky-Shaymin: Getting hard to move around in this sand
L: "I know... Hang on, are we sinking?" Pidgey stops, looking down at himself to see if he's getting lower in the sand.
N: *They see that their legs are getting swallowed by the sand* Sky-Shaymin: Whoa, is that quicksand
L: Pidgey sighs. "Yeah, it is. Guess the only way out is gonna be to just let ourselves sink in it..."
N: Sky-Shaymin: At least we have plenty of extra lives
L: "Sucks that this is gonna take so long, we have to actually be careful next time or we're gonna be wasting a lot of time."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Unless there's an actually way to escape this trap... ah, there's a wall that is like a climbable ladder
L: "Oh, easy enough." Pidgey struggles to work his way toward it through the sand.
N: *As they made halfway there they both stop moving and blush a little as their legs are fully sunken* Sky-Shaymin: Sand here feels rather comfy, I suddenly don't feel like escaping this quicksand trap
L: "You know... Yeah, this is actually kind of nice. We've got a lot of lives, like you said, let's just hang out here for now."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Yeah, we can race to the bottom. Will your feather can handle some soft sand
L: "Ha, this would probably be the worst on them yet, but we're just gonna respawn and it'll all be gone. Nothing for us to worry about."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Getting that spirit already, let's see who blub under first
L: "Bet I'll be able to hold my breath longer than you once we're finally under!"
N: Sky-Shaymin: Bet I can hit the bottom before you do! *They playfully struggle around as they sink to their belly*
L: "No way you can!" Pidgey starts trying to dig himself deeper into the sand.
N: *They quickly sink to their chest* Sky-Shaymin: Sure does give us more competition by testing the sand does it
L: "It does, this is a weirdly fun way to help prove who's better!"
N: Sky-Shaymin: By seeing who’s more brave and daring adventurer
L: "Exactly... We're certainly gonna find out who does better in sand like this too, seeing who can go under first and stay there longer."
N: *They sink to their neck* Sky-Shaymin: Getting pretty deep now, better take some breath soon
L: Pidgey begins tilting his head back some. "Hope breathing this in isn't gonna hurt too much, it's bad enough on my feathers..."
N: *Shaymin tilt her head as well* Sky-Shaymin: We have lose a few lives earlier so it will be fine
L: "Yeah, we'll probably have been through worse... And we'll probably GO through worse later."
N: *Their face remains as they start taking in some breath* Sky-Shaymin: It’s almost time
L: "Yep, just about there now... " Pidgey starts taking some deep breaths while he still can.
N: *Their face covers as Shaymin nose and Pidgey beak remains as they take in one last breath*
L: Pidgey holds his breath as he finally goes fully under the sand, keeping his eyes closed as well in case the sand would hurt them.
N: *Sky-Shaymin sink under as well as their breath meter appears*
L: Even fully below it, the sand still feels nice around Pidgey, and he smiles as he gradually goes even deeper.
N: *Sky-Shaymin enjoying the comfy sand covering the body as she sinks deeper and deeper*
L: For once, Pidgey is actually enjoying having sand all over his body, enjoying the feeling of it slowly moving between his feathers.
N: *They keep their breath hold as they ignore their breath meter and keep calm as they blissfully sink farther*
L: Pidgey has practically never been so relaxed before, even his need to breathe entirely being forgotten about.
N: *Their air meter are halfway drain as they keep cool and relax under the soft sand*
L: At no point has the thought of getting back above the sand crossed Pidgey's mind. He hasn't even checked if he can, content to just stay here until his lungs won't let him any more.
N: *They both starting to feel the urge to breath as their air meter getting closer to deplete*
L: Pidgey squirms a bit as he keeps trying to hold his breath, not wanting this to be over yet. He's forgotten he'd originally intended this to be a breath holding contest.
N: *They both keep their breath as much as they could as their breath meter nearly empty*
L: Holding his wings to his beak, Pidgey struggles to keep holding his breath, but he already knows he won't be able to defy how the game works...
N: *They soon start to inhale sand as they slowly starting to lose health*
L: Pidgey lets out a muffled squawk between his attempted gasps, choking on sand. Even this feels oddly good...
N: *Sky-Shaymin felt a soothing feeling from the sand flowing into her lungs as she smiles*
L: Now just smoothly breathing the sand, Pidgey smiles a little as his face turns blue, hoping this will still last for a while longer.
N: *They both hoping that they reach the bottom before they fully drown as they start to feel the pain from drowning but still felt soothing*
L: With his airways entirely full of sand, Pidgey's breaths slowly get weaker as his body begins to go numb from the lack of oxygen.
N: *They soon hit the bottom and made a faint smile as their health nearly drained*
L: Proud of himself for getting all the way down, Pidgey weakly smiles and takes a few last breaths of sand while he can.
N: *Soon they lay down as they slowly drown blissfully*
L: Pidgey's consciousness finally fades... Then he and Sky-Shaymin are back before the platforming section they'd fallen from before. "Who would've thought that would feel so good..."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Yeah, that was so satisfying
L: "Guess it won't be so bad if we fall in again, huh? And if we don't want to bother for whatever reason, there's always the ladder."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Yeah, that's pretty good. Sure give us a break from the action when needed
L: "Lucky this is so early in the level, we barely have to do anything to get back to this part later!"
N: Sky-Shaymin: Indeed
L: "Anyway, may as well get back to working through the level... Let's give that race another shot!" Like before, Pidgey rushes into the platforming.
N: *Sky-Shaymin starts platforming as well as they are neck to neck as they made their way to the end*
L: Both of them reach the end of the platforming at the same time. "...Huh. Certainly didn't expect it to be a tie. Maybe I ought to give you more credit after all."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Yeah, maybe we are equal
L: "Hey now, that's pushing it. This just happens to be one thing we're equal at, that's all. It's still gonna be a while 'till we really prove anything."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Maybe, still got more level and world to get through
L: "Yep, still a lot ahead of us. Wonder what sort of stuff is gonna be next..."
N: Sky-Shaymin: Only way to find out
L: "Yeah, let's get going." Pidgey starts walking onward, ready for whatever the game might have next.
