L: An anthro dolphin relaxes mostly submerged past the shore of a lake, wearing only swim trunks and what seems at first to be goggles, but is merely a birthmark. He sits in water deep enough that only the top of his head, and thus his blowhole, is above water.
H: An anthromorphic brown fish wolf creature with a long mane swims around the lake underwater, wearing purple swimming trunks, a black cape, 2 bracelets, a depth gauge watch on his wrist, a scuba knife strapped to his leg and a moon pendant necklace. His aquatic form has fish-like fins (especially on his tail), gills on his neck and chest to breathe underwater, webbing on his hand paws and armpit for gliding and webbed paw-shaped flippers instead of feet that have his pads on.
The aquatic werewolf then notices the dolphin and approaches him while kicking back and forth like his kind.
L: The dolphin is a bit surprised to see the aquatic hybrid, but smiles and waves at them. "Hi! Certainly a good place to relax, huh?" His aquatic nature lets him talk clearly despite being underwater.
H: "Yep." The wolf sits down aswell. "Hi there, my name is Cody, nice to meet you!" Cody offers to shake webbed hands, blowing bubbles excitingly from his snout.
L: "I'm Lenn!" Lenn shakes Cody's hand. "I take it you don't need to hold your breath, with you looking so aquatic?"
H: "Not at all thanks to my gills, heh. Btw, how are you able to talk underwater so clearly?" He spoke in infinite bubbles, which can sometimes be hard to understand.
L: "It's just a thing with me for whatever reason. Think it's because I'm pretty aquatic for an air breather, being a dolphin." There's bubbles leaving Lenn's mouth, but not enough to obscure what he's saying.
H: "Oh, right. Nice goggles, btw." Cody pointed out with his webbed paw.
L: "Oh, they're not goggles, that's a birthmark." He rubs it with a finger to prove it's not something he's wearing. "No idea how it ended up looking so perfectly like goggles."
H: "Oh, I see. That's interesting. Is it like destiny?" Cody blubbed curiously.
L: Lenn shrugs. "Who knows? It's just always been there, even before I got this form... Well, guess I have to explain now, huh?"
H: "Wait, you have another form?"
L: Lenn nods. "So, a few months ago, I was just a regular dolphin, no arms or legs. Then I found some weird... Ritual thing, that had been nearly fully set up, but whoever made it wasn't around. There were instructions there on how to finish it, which I did to see what would happen, and... I'm not entirely sure what happened, but from then on, I've been able to change between this form and my natural one over half an hour whenever I want, and a countdown in my head starts if I get close to not being able to hold my breath any more."
H: "Wow, that sounds interesting!" Cody is amazed. "I have another form aswell, although it's just my land self."
L: "Oh cool, you too? Never met anyone else that can change between two forms like that, thought I was the only one!"
H: "Same, hehe. I change forms using my necklace as you can see here." Cody shows Lenn his crescent moon pendant necklace, the bottom tip appears to be mysteriously slighty chipped off.
L: "I'm lucky my way of doing that is just part of me. Wouldn't want to risk losing access to it like you probably can with yours..."
H: "Yeah... I always need to be careful in not losing it. It's a birthday gift from my grandfather afterall."
L: "It was definitely cool of him to get you something like that! I still have no idea who set up the ritual that made me like this, so I've never gotten to thank them."
H: "Maybe they were an aquatic wizard?"
L: "That'd make sense... Never found anything about what the ritual was either, but maybe I will someday."
H: "Sounds good. Anyway, wanna join me on my weekend swim?" Cody reaches out his webbed paw with a smile on his muzzle.
L: "May as well, I was already planning on swimming myself!" Lenn smiles back and takes Cody's hand, gasping a deep breath through his blowhole before fully submerging.
H: "Heh." With the two now fully submerged under the freshwater lake, Cody starts kicking his flattened webbed flippery paw feet and fish tail like a merwolf as they swim together, his long hair mane and cape flowing along the current like kelp.
L: Lenn's feet may not be as flipper-like as Cody's, but they're still webbed and he kicks all the same, using his tail in a similar way to Cody.
H: "Well, this is starting to look more like a submerged forest" Indeed it resembles a submerged forest under the water with collapsed trees ripped from their trunks and a grassy floor invaded by other aquatic life. Cody stops on a tree as he stands on it and looks around, holding a branch for support.
L: "It really does, this is cool!" Lenn perches on a different branch as he looks around. "There must've been a time where this wasn't full of water... Wonder what flooded it."
H: "Probably the shifting of land. That and maybe earthquakes." Cody then sits down.
L: Lenn sits on his branch as well. "Whatever the case, never seen anything like this... Does this happen a lot on land? Not all that familiar with how things on land work yet."
H: "I'm not really sure. I think it's rare."
L: "Makes sense, I suppose." Lenn idly puffs out a few bubbles from his blowhole. "You're lucky you can breathe underwater, kinda wish I could do that."
H: "Not sure if there are more of my necklace out there, they might be rare to find. And I wonder if there are other holders of this pendant somewhere around the world." Cody also idly lets some bubbles leave through his nostrils.
L: "Heh, it'd be fun to have an even more aquatic form on top of all this. Wonder if it'd work in both my anthro form and my original one..."
H: "Come to think of it, I think I heard about some type of weird plant called Gillyweed or something like that. I heard that it works like my necklace but through consumption of that plant and that it has a time limit. Haven't tried or found one myself, even after discovering my necklace's magical properties."
L: "I've heard of that, I actually found some and tried it out one time, and it worked! Made me even more aquatic like your necklace does, and it even transferred to my original form!"
H: "Oh, I see." Cody is surprised, bubbles accelerate from his snout for a bit.
L: "If I happen to find more, I'll give you some. Not that you need it, but I think it'd be cool to have a little while where you don't need your necklace to be aquatic."
H: "Hmm, maybe I could have some to give to my friends."
L: "Hey, that's a good idea! I bet they'd really like the chance to explore freely underwater for a while!"
H: "Yeah, hehe. Anyway, shall we continue exploring?" Cody hops off the branch like a frog and hovers above it. His fur, hair and cape continue to float aswell.
L: "May as well, sure." Lenn stands up on his branch, stretching before kicking off it. He does seem to still not be having any issues with holding his breath, at least for now.
H: Cody explores around the submerged forest, checking out every sights and sounds it has to offer while blowing bubbles around.
L: As much as he's enjoying himself, over time Lenn starts looking a little bit restless, seemingly having his urge to breathe grow to a point where he's getting a bit uncomfortable.
H: Cody is getting concerned for Lenn's safety. "Lenn? You feeling ok?"
L: "I-I'm fine, I like pushing my breath holding... If it makes you uncomfortable though, I can go breathe."
H: "Hmm, I can try and help. Afterall, I have infinite bubble sacks inside my lungs when my gills open in water, they never run out of air and are very helpful whenever you need a quick breath." Cody blows a giant air bubble from his snout as demonstration.
L: "Oh! Well, that's convenient! It'll certainly be interesting to be able to breathe air while still pretty far underwater..."
H: "Yeah. I can even revive you with my air bubbles incase you're drowning, I did that to a green dragon named Trevor with some assistance some time ago!"
L: "C-certainly nice of you! Wouldn't want to go to that point myself, but it's good to know you'd be able to help if it happened."
H: "Hehe, it's good to always have a diving buddy with you." Cody swims around Lenn playfully.
L: "Do you mind if I just turn this dive into some breath holding practice for myself?"
H: "Oh sure, go ahead. I'll always be here for you" Cody then lays down on the submerged grassy floor in a criss-cross position, his mane and cape still floating upwards like he's upside down.
L: Lenn lets himself sink down as well, just sitting instead of laying as he closes his eyes. His chest is occasionally heaving a little at this point, but he still seems calm enough.
H: Cody sits aswell, still in his criss cross position. "Now, remember, it's all in the muscles. You just need to relax them all and try not to get them tense. That way you can hold your breath longer underwater once they're fully relaxed."
L: "Yep, I know a good few tricks for this..." Still having his eyes closed, Lenn relaxes as much as he can given the slowly growing urge in his chest.
H: "That's the spirit, heh." Cody then looks at his depth gauge watch as he switches the screen to a stopwatch and starts it up. It was, however, kinda difficult because of his paw hand webbing getting in the way of the screen.
L: For a while, Lenn continues sitting in place, the heaves of his chest gradually getting more frequent over time.
H: The aquatic wolf observes Lenn, for now he seems to be doing good so far.
L: The minutes tick by, and Lenn is able to stay calm... At around 14 minutes in, he grunts a little, just starting to truly strain.
H: "Hang in there. Everything's gonna be ok. You're doing good so far." Cody quietly says in bubbles as he looks at his own stopwatch.
L: Lenn nods, doing his best to keep calm as he blushes from the strain he's going through.
H: Cody notices it. Even though he's concerned about it, he still remains hopeful.
L: 16 minutes in, little bubbles start to occasionally leak from Lenn's lips, and while he whines a little, he still stays put.
H: Cody is surprised at how Lenn surpassed the typical limit of most dolphins as he looks at his stopwatch.
L: At 17 minutes, Lenn covers his blowhole with a hand, the bubbling from his mouth stopping at the same time, while his blush starts to get the slightest purple tint.
H: Cody starts to get a little worry for the dolphin.
L: 18 minutes, Lenn's blush is clearly purple, and he's starting to shiver just a little, his chest constantly heaving as he whines from his need to breathe... But, still, he stays where he is.
H: Even though Cody is impressed at that length, he wonders if he should do something or not, becoming more worry about Lenn.
L: Not too long after 19 minutes, Lenn's eyes suddenly shoot open. "MM!" While Cody had no way to know this, a countdown from 30 had started in Lenn's head. After a couple seconds, Lenn looks at Cody, clearly finally wanting a bubble to breathe as his blush starts turning blue.
H: Quickly figuring out what Lenn is trying to say, Cody blows an air bubble helmet around Lenn's head. "Gotcha!"
L: Lenn gasps as soon as he's able to, his blush already starting to go back to a normal color. "Th-thanks... R-really got close to running out..."
H: "Yeah, it's really scary honestly. But I'm surprised you're able to hold your breath twice the length of a regular dolphin." Cody says as he shows Lenn the paused stopwatch marking at 20 minutes. "I'm very impressed, good job, hehe!"
L: "M-man, that long!? Even for me, that's a great time! Still had about 25 seconds before you gave me the bubble, too!"
H: "Yep, hehe." Cody pets Lenn's air bubble helmet with his webbed paw.
L: Lenn smiles, and once he's fully rested, holds his breath and tries to take the bubble off himself.
H: "Alright, let's see if you can surpass 20 minutes. Round two!" Cody pops Lenn's bubble with his claw as he resets and starts the stopwatch again.
L: "I bet I can, I was pretty much there!" Lenn switches around to lay down instead of sitting, looking up at the distant surface.
H: Cody also lays down on the grassy floor on his belly, facing Lenn next to him.
L: After giving Cody a smile, Lenn closes his eyes as if he's trying to have a nap while he waits.
H: Cody smiles back at him, then turns his head to face the surface above, blowing bubbles and sometimes bubble rings around.
L: Lenn calmly lays there for some time, relaxing without any sign of needing air...
H: Cody looks at his stopwatch.
L: The time gradually ticks up; 5 minutes, 10... Eventually it's been 14 minutes since Lenn got a fresh breath, and he's having a bit of trouble relaxing again.
H: "Hmm..."
L: Slowly, Lenn's struggle is returning, and while he does stay laying down, he's occasionally squirming a little in strain.
H: Cody tries calming Lenn down, still worrying about him
L: Lenn gives Cody a strained smile, and sits up, trying to ignore his need to breathe.
H: "Hang in there, Lenn. You're currently at..." Cody looks at his stopwatch.
L: The stopwatch says it's been 17 minutes since Lenn last took a breath.
H: "17 minutes. Three more and we may surpass the current record. I'll be here when you need to stop. Until then... let yourself go." Cody quietly says.
L: Lenn nods, and continues trying to hold off his urge to breathe, relaxing what little he can despite his lungs just beginning to burn.
H: Cody sits besides Lenn, he knows he'll make it. His mane already turned into a small forest.
L: At 18 minutes, Lenn covers his blowhole again as he starts getting a purple blush, starting to shiver like last time.
H: Cody lays his furred fish tail on Lenn, it's very warm like a fluffy blanket and he hopes that this may relax his muscles.
L: Lenn hugs Cody's tail, hoping it'll help him calm down... Eventually, he jolts a little as his mental countdown starts again, and he quickly gestures to Cody's watch, wanting to know how close he is to 20 minutes.
H: Cody shows him his stopwatch.
L: Seeing he's 20 seconds from the 20 minute mark, and with 25 seconds of breath left, Lenn doesn't ask for a bubble just yet, fighting to keep holding his breath as even his blowhole starts to quiver, little bubbles leaking out.
H: Cody becomes very worry about Lenn's safety. "Lenn?"
L: Lenn doesn't respond, forcing himself to keep holding his breath... As his countdown gets to 10, he can't keep his composure, his instincts making him start frantically swimming for the surface and forget Cody can give him air.
H: "Lenn!" Cody hurringly swims up towards Lenn, kicking his flippers and fish tail as fast as possible before blowing another air bubble helmet around his head.
L: Once he realizes the bubble is there, Lenn gasps hard, coughing a few times while heavily panting.
H: Cody also stops his stopwatch. "Saw you struggling, why didn't you asked me?"
L: "I-I kind of panicked... G-got less than 10 seconds from drowning..."
H: "Oh, I see. Well, please let me know when you're reaching your limit, I was worrying about you. Anyway, you want to see your record?"
L: "Y-yeah, go ahead! I think I did really well with that one..."
H: Cody shows Lenn his stopwatch containing his record as the two of them float underwater.
L: Lenn gasps in surprise as he sees it: 20:02. "Th-that's a new record for me!"
H: "Kinda, but still, I'm very proud of you. Anyway, you want to go for another try or take a break?"
L: "I definitely need to rest for a while, after getting so close to my limit twice in a row..."
H: "Alright, sounds good. Shall we continue exploring then?"
L: "Sure! I bet there'll be something interesting we haven't found yet!"
H: "Alright, let's go!" Cody excitedly said as he sinks down towards the bottom of the lake, his mane floating upwards still like a forest. Once he reaches the bottom he proceeds to dolphin kick swim again.
L: Keeping the bubble on his head, Lenn follows them down and then along the bottom, looking around.
H: As Cody blows bubbles around and switches his stopwatch into the depth gauge screen on his watch, the duo are then eventually followed by schools of fish.
L: Lenn looks back at the fish. "Haha, we've got some friends with us!"
H: "Hello, hehe!" Cody stops swimming as he opens his leather bag and pulls out a can of fish pellets. He pours them onto his webbed paws and hands them to the fishes as they start feeding. "Hehe, tickles!"
L: Lenn sits down to watch for a little while, smiling at Cody.
H: "Wanna try?" Cody hands Lenn the can of fish pellets while smiling at him.
L: "Yeah, sure!" Lenn takes the can in one hand and pours some food into the other, which he holds out.
H: The fishes then start feeding on the pellets from Lenn's webbed hands.
L: Lenn giggles at the tickly feeling of it, but doesn't pull his hand away.
H: "Hehe, I think they're starting to like you." It was then that Lenn notices Cody has a brown dolphin fin on his back as his cape gets lifted off again.
L: "Oh, you've had a fin on your back this whole time? Neat!"
H: "Oh, thanks, heh." Cody blushes a bit.
L: Lenn eventually hands Cody back the can of fish food.
H: "Thanks!" Cody puts the can back into his leather bag. "Anyway, let's continue." He says as he continues to swim with the fishes.
L: Lenn gets up to resume swimming with Cody, smiling at all the fish around the two.
H: "Btw, Lenn, you wanna do some dolphin flips with me? It'll be fun." Cody blubbed.
L: "Haven't done a whole lot of that in my anthro form, sure!"
H: "Alright!" Cody pauses for a moment as he charges with all his flippaws, fins and webbing ready. He then launches towards the surface as he happily does some dolphin flips with Lenn.
L: Lenn's jumps are a little bit clumsy, but he's still having fun launching out of the water and falling back in.
H: Cody proceeds to howl and do a dolphin somersault/vertical spin before splashing back into the water.
L: "Woah, nice! I could probably be about that good in my original form, but I'm not sure you'd want to wait the half hour it takes me to change."
H: "Oh. Hmm, I guess we can still swim while you're transforming."
L: "Have to go pretty slow during it, or it resets. But yeah, we can still swim while I'm getting it ready."
H: "Oh, sure." Cody then slows down his swimming speed for Lenn's transformation, reducing his flipper kicking to one by one.
L: Lenn focuses for a moment, and starts to subtly glow, his swimming slowing way down in the process. "Alright, it's going. You won't see anything much until it's nearly done, though."
H: "S H I N Y :O"
L: "Ha, didn't think you'd care all that much. Yeah, while it's sort of... Charging, I glow a little."
H: "I see"
L: Lenn keeps slowly swimming with Cody for a while, the glow very slowly getting brighter over time.
H: "Is it just me or you're getting brighter than before." Cody swims around Lenn
L: "Yep, the glow gets brighter as I get closer. Think it's about halfway ready by now."
H: "Nice!" Cody gives Lenn a webbed thumbs up
L: "I wish I could do this faster, but it's always exactly half an hour. It's an annoyingly long time to wait for this..."
H: "Well, what should we do to kill the time down here?"
L: "Could always just blow some bubbles together, I suppose. Saw you making rings earlier, that was pretty cool."
H: "Thanks. I also wanna try bubble sculpting. Y'know, creating and shaping things by blowing bubbles around. It sounds difficult though." Cody sits on a rock.
L: "That DOES sound tough, and I've never heard of it... Guess this is a good time to try it out, huh?" Lenn sits next to him.
H: "Maybe. Hopefully they won't get popped. I will go first." Cody tries first, making a sculpture by blowing bubbles around as he swims.
L: "Cool! I'm probably not gonna have an easy time since I still need to go slow, but let me try..." He takes a deep breath and pops the bubble around his head, before trying to copy Cody by blowing bubbles toward one spot.
H: Cody tries to refine his sculpture the best he can do, connecting and stretching his bubbles with one another. He has zero skills in sculpting though and this is his first time. Sometimes he pushes his long mane away from his muzzled face which was covering his vision. He's also careful in trying not to pop it with his clawed webbed paws for hands.
L: Lenn does his best as well, smooshing bubbles around to try to make something even he might not be entirely sure about just yet. He does at least have a slightly easier time, not having claws.
H: Cody tries his best in not using his water bending powers, as he finds them cheating. "Blub..."
L: "Think I'm doing alright..." It's starting to look like Lenn's trying to make a feral dolphin out of his bubbles.
H: Cody is getting exhausted underwater from all the blubbing around. Eventually he finished his own sculpture as he sits down on the floor to rest his lungs. The sculpture is of the night god Mirios standing on a crescent moon, which his werewolf kind worship. "Finished."

L: "Woah, that's WAY better than mine! I guess it probably helps that you're used to having hands, 'cause I still haven't quite gotten that down yet."
H: "Thank you! Anyway, is yours finished?" Cody closes his own eyes
L: "Yep, just about..." Lenn blows a couple more bubbles and presses them onto the bubble dolphin's head so they look like eyes. "Done. What do you think?"
H: Cody opens his eye and sees the dolphin bubble sculpture in front. "Wow! This actually looks really nice!" Cody swims around the sculpture, looking at it from every angle possible, even upside down.
L: "Oh, for real? Thanks! Was just kinda jealous at how cool yours looks... Think my transformation is just about ready, by the way."
H: "Nice, can't wait!" Cody sits back on the rock
L: The glow around Lenn tints blue for a moment, before it briefly becomes a lot more intense. When the light fades, Lenn has become a feral dolphin, his goggle-like markings still there. "Done! This is my other form!"
H: "Looking good, hehe." Cody gives Lenn another webbed thumbs up.
L: Lenn happily does a flip and smiles at Cody. "I don't use this form all that often, having hands is really nice, but going back to how I originally was is always cool too."
H: "Hehe. Btw, I just thought of something. Wanna dance with me?" Cody opens his webbed, finned arms wide.
L: "Sure! Just keep in mind, this'll be my first time. Never even done that in anthro form before..." Lenn swims to Cody, moving his flippers out like Cody is with their arms as he's unsure what to do.
H: Cody holds Lenn's flippers as they both spin and dance underwater while the aquatic wolf sings Fly Me To The Moon
L: Lenn smiles as he slowly gets an idea of how to dance, and he's eventually following along fairly well for it being his first time.
H: "Hehe. Lovely isn't it?"
L: "Yeah, this is fun! I see why people do this!"
H: "Hehe. Btw, did you like my singing?"
L: "I did! You're a really good singer!"
H: "Thanks, hehe. I've been practicing singing all year. Anyway, want to see my original land form?" Cody starts hovering underwater.
L: "Oh, right, you've got another form too! Sure, go ahead!"
H: "Alright." Cody blows an air bubble rebreather around his muzzle. "Here goes nothing." He said as he clutches his moon pendant necklace, shifting to a sun as he turns back to a normal wolf.
L: "...Huh. Yours isn't as different as mine is. Not that that's a bad thing, you look good like this too!"
H: Cody's flippers regressed back into his clawed paw feet, finishing the transformation. "Thanks. Although I feel a little slow while in my normal form underwater." His swimming speed also reduced greatly, standing on the submerged grass. He also still has his rebreather bubble on.
L: "Yeah, I've heard that non-aquatic people tend to have trouble with swimming. If you still want to get around down here, you can hold onto me."
H: "Nah, I will just turn back into my aquatic form." Cody takes a deep breath as he pops his air bubble rebreather around his muzzle with his claws.
L: "Right, yeah, your transformation is really fast. Well, we can just hang out until then." Lenn swims to Cody and gives them a hug.
H: Holding his breath, Cody hugs Lenn back, wagging his tail before clutching his necklace again, shifting back to a crescent moon in the proccess. His gills open up again as he stops holding his breath. His fish-like fins and webbing grow back from beneath his fur and his paw feet sprout back into clawless flippers.
L: "Man, doing it so fast is cool... Does it have any limit at all?"
H: "I feel my feet bones breaking and disintergrating though I got used to it. Also the gills opening can be a bit painful."
L: "O-oh... Jeez, that must feel awful... Maybe I'm lucky mine's so different."
H: "Don't worry. As I said, I got used to it. I even stopped wheezing at the pain." Cody pats Lenn with his webbed paw.
L: "Well, as long as YOU'RE okay with it. Still, yikes..." Lenn closes his eyes as Cody pats him.
H: "Yeah... Maybe we should just continue exploring for now." Cody starts kicking his boneless flippaws once again.
L: "Sounds good." Lenn follows after Cody, leaving the bubble sculptures behind and resuming looking for anything interesting.
H: As they both swim deeper, Cody notices something square in the distance. "What is that?" He said as he approaches the unknown object, blubbling curiously.
L: Lenn swims up to it as well. "No idea..." He starts carefully inspecting the object.
H: The block-like object turns out to be a wooden crate, tightly shut with rope. There's a label on it but it's unfortunately too water damaged to make out, it seems to be a shipping address heading towards somewhere unknown. Some letters can be make out as "W, R, C, T, P". There's an imprint that says something along the lines of "M. Sea", possibly a return address. "Huh, looks like this crate was accidentally dropped from a passing ship around here."
L: "Cool! We should see what's in it! Hopefully it wasn't ruined by the water..." Lenn starts trying to get the ropes off.
H: Cody helps Lenn as he reaches for his scuba knife on his leg and cuts the rope away.
L: It's not too long before the ropes have been entirely removed. "Alright... Come on, let this be something cool..." Lenn takes the lid off the crate.
H: Cody peeks in. Inside are bundles of strange rat-tail-shaped kelp tangled together like tennis balls. "Huh, these look familiar."
L: "Hang on, I think this is gillyweed! Looks like you're gonna get to try it out after all!"
H: "Nah, I already have my method of aquatic transformation. But I'll take one just in case." Cody stores one gillyweed in his leather bag. "And one for you too. I think we can also take some for our friends if they're interested." He also gives another to Lenn who's still in his original feral form.
L: Lenn does his best to hold onto his with his flippers. "Well, fair enough. And yeah, I know a few people that'd love something like this..."
H: Cody closes the crate shut. "Alright, should we carry this whole crate to the surface?" Cody looks at the surface as he blows several bubbles from his snout, watching as they float upwards.
L: "Yeah, otherwise someone else might find it and take it all. I'll do my best to help, but flippers aren't very good for carrying things."
H: Cody retreats his scuba knife back into his leg strap as he sits on the crate. "Well, how about you turn into your anthro form?" Cody smiled.
L: "We'll have to wait another half hour for that, but if you're okay with waiting, so am I. I'm pretty patient."
H: "Alright, take your time, heh." Cody kicks his extremely flexible flipper feet around while sitting as he waits.
L: Lenn focuses and starts to glow again like before, floating in place as he waits to transform.
H: "In the meantime, can I tell you about a power I also have?"
L: "Oh, you've got another? Sure, let's hear it!"
H: "Well, I can do waterbending. I can manipulate the water around me. I discovered this ability 2 years ago."
L: "Nice! That must be a lot of fun!"
H: "Yeah! Want me to do a demostration?" Cody wags his fluffy fish tail excitingly.
L: "Go for it! I bet it's gonna be really cool to watch!"
H: "Alright!" Cody proceeds to open a hole on the surface of the water from a distance, creating an open tube.
L: "Woah, that's already awesome! I'd jump through it if I didn't have to go slow to not interrupt my transformation..."
H: "Can I still keep it open?"
L: "Hey, I don't mind either way, do what you want with it."
H: "Ok." Cody keeps it open. "So is it ready now?"
L: "Just about there." Lenn's glow tints blue again, and with another flash, he's back to being anthro. "Alright, done!"
H: "Alright, let's carry this to the outside world. We can use the hole as a launching cannon like a... Umm, what's that crater that blows very heated wind called again?"
L: "A, um... Volcano? I don't know, I'm still not all that familiar with surface world stuff."
H: "Oh well, wanna try?"
L: "Sure! It's gonna be a lot faster than swimming, even for me."
H: "Alright, let's go!" Cody carries the crate towards the hole he made, it's not really heavy considering the amount of Gillyweed inside.
L: Lenn follows them there, standing in the tube of air and looking around. "This is kinda surreal, I'm underwater but not..."
H: Cody pushes the crate into the water wall as he sinks till standing on the ground on his extremely flexible flippaw feet, he then walks through it into the open air now with his fur and mane looking completely soggy. His gills then close themselves. "Alright, ready?" He opens his long soggy mane like a set of curtains away from his eyes.
L: "Yep, get us going whenever you're ready!" Lenn braces himself to be launched.
H: "Alright, here I go!" Using his waterbending powers, Cody launches the both of themselves along with the crate into the air as the water rapidly explodes into a geyser. He then surfs the water on his flippaw feet as the geyser turns to a wave, carrying the two with the crate onto land as the wave crashes back into the water. They are then flying through the air as Cody makes a perfect landing into the ground. He also turns the water into a stretcher sort of for Lenn to land on. "Wow, I never landed this perfectly in my life."
L: "H-holy crap!" Lenn clumsily flies through the air, and likely would've gotten hurt upon landing if Cody hadn't made him a landing spot. Laying there, he laughs after a moment. "That was SO cool!"
H: "Thank you, hehe!" Cody wags his finned wolf tail gleefully. He then makes the water wash Lenn towards him onto the shore.
L: "Woah!" Lenn gets up once he can, stumbling a little. "Anyway, got the box up here... What do we do with it now?"
H: "I guess we can deliver some to our friends. Though I do wonder... what were they heading to?"
L: "The people originally transporting this? No idea, I've never heard of an M. Sea..."
H: "Maybe the M stands for mediterraneon sea, it kinda makes sense."
L: "That'd make sense, but still, we have no way to know who or where they were going to... I hope we figure it out sometime."
H: "Yeah, me too. Anyway, that was fun, right?" Cody is struggling to continue standing on his flattened webbed flippaw feet.
L: "Yeah, it was! Haha, you should probably switch back to your normal form before you fall over!"
H: "SureAAAAAAAAAAAA-" Cody finally trips on his flippery paw-shaped fins for feet and splashes back into the water. He then quickly resurfaces, gasping for air and crawling into the land like a merwolf, with his mane now covering his entire face except for the muzzle, looking like Sadako Yamamura from The Ring.
L: "Oh, you okay?" Lenn reaches down to help Cody up, also helping brush the hair from their face.
H: "Yeah, I'm alright, thanks. Anyway, let me get this over with." Cody clutches his moon pendant necklace back to a sun as he transforms back into a regular bipedal wolf, now able to stand up on his no-longer-flattened feet. "There we go." He also shakes himself dry, poofing his fur into MASSIVE FLUFF MODE in the process.
L: Lenn laughs at how Cody looks now, then looks down at the gillyweed box. "Some friends of mine are gonna have a lot of fun with all this..."
H: Cody smiles back at Lenn, then brushes his fur back down. "Yep, if there are still more remaining after sharing to our friends, we can probably sell the rest for the water-loving fans on the land, heh."
L: "We might be able to grow some, too! I'm not very familiar with gillyweed, but it's a plant, so we definitely would be able to make more if we figure out how."
H: "Hmm, do kelp from the sea require seeds to be planted?"
L: "Regular kelp does have seeds, yeah, so this is probably the same. Just gotta hope there's at least one seed in this box somewhere..."
H: "We can try searching." Cody helps Lenn in searching. "But how do kelp seeds reproduce?"
L: "No idea, I've never been all that interested in that. I imagine it's pretty similar to how other plants do seeds."
H: "I see. Anyway, did you find anything?"
L: "There's some bits in here that kinda LOOK like they'd be seeds. So, maybe we've found some?"
H: "Perhaps." Cody picks one up and examines it.
L: Whatever it is DOES seem like a seed, being vaguely similar to the gillyweed itself as well.
H: "Hmm, it does look like it. I'm guessing this might the start of a new small business."
L: "Awesome! I really needed a good way to get money, I've always had trouble with that."
H: "I hope these sell well." Cody hoped. "We can also split the money between the two of us."
L: "I bet they're gonna sell pretty great! And yeah, we can definitely split the money we make!"
H: "Alright, let's do it!" Cody offers Lenn to shake hands again.
L: Lenn shakes Cody's hand. "Alright, let's figure out how to grow these... I'd guess it has to be underwater."
H: "Sure. If these are native to the Mediterreneon Sea, we should probably head and plant them somewhere that feels a lot closer to its home. Somewhere salty and submerged. We can try it at the beach or home. I have some salt in the kitchen and we would need soil if we choose the latter." Cody carries the closed crate.
L: "Home would probably be better for now. We don't have all that many seeds, so we need to make sure they don't get messed up in any way."
H: "Ok, we can probably stay at my house or yours." Cody walks with Lenn away from the lake, crate in both paws.
L: "I think I'd like to see yours. Bet it's already got a bunch of water-related stuff in it, with you having that necklace."
H: "Well, I mostly live on land and I have a hot spring at home, although it's small in depth. For the seeds, we probably need sand."
L: "Sand would make sense, yeah. I can head to the beach and grab some later."
H: "Sounds good, hehe." Cody wags his tail in excitement. "Let's deliver these first, shall we?"
Upon arriving at home, both Cody & Lenn both delivered their fair share of gillyweed to their friends, some rejected them gladly as they're not really into water-related stuff. Still, Cody doesn't mind the rejections.
The next day, Cody & Lenn would meet up and managed to figure out the recipe for Gillyweed planting. And so begins their Gillyweed selling business.
Hopefully these will sell very well.
Cody would, at ocassions, also train Lenn to become even more stronger with breathholding (usually by request of Lenn), using meditation of course.
"Now that I think about it, I should probably become a lifeguard sometime." Thought Cody about his potential future.
