I get along very well with my therapist, who I've been seeing for coming on to three years now. When I picked up my art again, leading to my rebound from depression, I decided to finally follow through on the promise I made myself to design her a fursona after I'd asked her what her favourite animal is a few weeks into our regular sessions together.
I settled on a Hildebrandt's Starling for her, with its bright plumage and vibrant eyes. I had specific reasons for this, but that would unfortunately mean sharing a little too much personal info about her.
She always knows the right thing to say during out sessions, but was still rendered speechless (in a good way) when I showed it to her. She even asked me for permission to show it to friends and family given that it would fall under patient confidentiality, and I was unsurprisingly more than happy for her to do that.
