The Smith's trip though Australia continues after Kyle and his mother enjoyed some time in the city of Melbourne together while Caiden and his father spent time at the Heeler's house. Caiden has already had a few eventful playdates with the Heeler's two kiddos named Bluey and Bingo
. Kyle himself has been finding some other pups in the neighborhood to play with as well. One in particular that Kyle got along well with was a red kelpie named Rusty. The two would play together nearly all day every time they met up. They loved playing all sorts of sport related games whether it be kicking the soccer ball around or trying to teach each other a sport from their home country. Earlier in the week, Kyle brought out an American football and tossed it around all afternoon with his new friend. Today, Rusty wanted to teach Kyle how to play Cricket.
"Hiya Rusty!" waved Kyle as he made his way through the front gate of Rusty's house and to the makeshift cricket pitch that in the yard.
"Hey there Kyle!" responded Rusty as he was bouncing the cricket ball on his cricket bat as Kyle jogged up to him.
"Oh wow! A real cricket bat!" awed Kyle as Rusty let Kyle hold the bat, "Thanks for letting us come over to play today again."
"Us?" asked Rusty as he looked around.
"Kyle! You're apposed ta wait for me's!" shouted the diaper clad Caiden as he finally caught up to his older brother.
"Well don't take so long eating lunch next time and you won't get left behind." replied an annoyed Kyle before turning to Rusty, "Rusty, this is my little brother Caiden. Mom and dad said that he had to come over with me today. Maybe he can play with your sister Dusty?"
"Oh hi there big guy, my names Rusty." greeted the red kelpie to the tot, "Sorry to tell you, but my sister isn't home today. You can play with us though!"
Caiden went from being annoyed at his brother to jumping for joy at the news of getting to play with the big boys. Kyle shrugged but concurred as the got set up. Rusty taught Kyle the rules and how to pitch the ball and Caiden would chase after the ball and retrieve it for them. The rules never really made sense to Kyle, but he just wanted to throw the ball as he plays pitcher on his baseball team back home. Once he got the motions down, he was able to pitch a decent ball to Rusty. Rusty would easily hit the ball around the yard with precision to give Caiden something to do.
"Ok Kyle! You're getting the hang of it. Give me a real fast throw!" encouraged Rusty as he squared up.
"Alright...Here it comes!" shouted Kyle as he wound up and threw it as hard as he could.
The ball had good speed on it and bounced just right on the pitch. It was a perfect ball for Rusty to hit, but unfortunately Caiden had shifted right into the spot that Rusty was going to hit the ball towards. So Rusty shifted his swing early and still managed to hit the ball...but it went the opposite direction and straight through the open kitchen window.
*CHRASH!*
"BOYS!" screamed Rusty's mother voice from the inside the house immediately after the ball apparently hit something glass and shattered it.
"Uh oh..." said the boys simultaneously as the door to the house flung open with Rusty's angry mother standing there.
The boys bolted in three different directions as she set off after them.
