Few people know that, during production of the Garbage Pail Kids movie, a sequel was already in the works! With a much higher budget, it was going to be a spectacular showcase of puppetry effects! But the whole thing went in the trash when the GPK move flopped, so now all we have are this collection of stills.
Few people know this, because I made it all up. I just asked Bing Create for 2,857 images of animatronic furry kids and whittled it down to the best few dozen. Enjoy!
Not affiliated with Topps; I just puked it up myself.
Prompt: scene from 1986's The Garbage Pail Kids Movie if it had a multi-million dollar budget, animatronic [species][gender][clothing] characters [in location], Garbage Pail Kids character design style,
Even with a .5% acceptance rate it's crazy how well AI can nail the look and feel of an 80s/90s puppet movie. I'd really love to see the movie that actually included all (or even some) of these scenes. :)

Oh, this wasn't a mere 5% rate. It's not like I was getting mostly bad results and these were the only useable ones. I made so many because so many of them came out GREAT! Like, paring this down to a mere 116 was agonizing. I'd say the success rate of getting them to look like animatronics was about 60%. There were definitely a lot though that just looked like toys or plush.

Ditto! I also tried, when making this, to arrange the images in terms of, 'What point in a three-act-movie would I expect to see a scene like this?'
