"so you are still wearing that outfit?" Katie asked
"Yes, why?" Joey asked
"You don't like your other outfit?" Katie asked
"I do, but this one is really cute too" Joey answered
"Well it does look cute on you" Katie admitted
Joey smiled and wagged his tail happily hearing the compliment
"Though.... now that I think about it, it's missing something" Katie replied with a thought filled look
"What is it?" Joey asked curiously
"The staff!" Katie replied with a snap of her fingers
"Staff?" Joey asked
"Yup you need her staff to finish the look" Katie replied, "Follow me, I know where she keeps it"
Joey nodded and ran along beside the otter girl to Krystal's room to look in her closet
"I know that thing is around here somewhere, AHA!" Katie exclaimed pulling out Krystal's staff
Joey looked it at it, and held it in his paws as Katie handed it over to him. Joey began to examine it, holding it every which way, rubbing a paw on it trying to get a feel of it was made of.
"Why not strike a pose?" Katie asked as a suggestion
Joey smiled and nodded his head, and struck a battle ready pose, as he held the staff in his paw. Without any warning, the staff soon shot off an energy blast, smashing a hole in the ceiling of the room.
"I didn't mean it, I don't even know how that happened!" Joey exclaimed
"its okay we can fix this before she she gets back, no one has to know!" Katie replied, "Wait here, let me get my tools!" She exclaimed before bolting out to her lab
After some time had passed, the otter girl returned with some supplies and her toolbox, as the two went to work to try and fix the damage to avoid krystal finding out they were snooping in her room. As the two were nearly done with the work the door opened up as Krystal walked on inside as the three just stared at each other for a moment before the queen Esmeralda popped in wondering what was up.
"What seems to be the problem here?" The queen asked
"Well these two were fixing up my room for me, my staff has been misfiring its magic from time to time and they were helping to fix its latest slip up" Krystal explained
"Well that's nice of them, tell you what you two, for being such good helpers, I will bring you both up a glass of lemonade as a reward" The queen replied
"Thank you very much!" Katie replied to Esmerelda as she walked off
Krystal just grinned and leaned against the wall grinning at the two otters.
"Don't think I don't know what you two were doing in here, you two owe me big for saving your hides from being punished for sneaking into other girls rooms" Krystal replied
"Okay... what do you want?" Katie asked
"Oh don't worry, I will think of something" Krystal replied "though I wasn't lying about that staff misfiring, I need to get that thing fixed, though it only goes off when its in the hands of someone with magic power, like your boyfriend over there" She replies looking at Joey as he was trying to hammer in some nails
"S-sorry" Joey replied
"And don't think of using that cute look on me, i'm not gonna fall for it" Krystal warned as Katie was trying to give her the cute otter look
