no.5: Devil Flanders - The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror

Five left and now we sort the boos from the boogeymen as were march onward to our spooky conclusion~
While the series has waned in recent times, there's no denying that there's little more quintessential to Halloween then The Simpsons and their annual Treehouse of Horror episodes! It's so ingrained in out view of the holiday that when they miss the actual date of October 31st, it's a talking point within the episode itself! Of course with 30 plus years at their back there's no end to iconic elements from these specials, but for my money I'd have to say the most iconic of these has to be the Flanders-esque incarnation of the devil! (well, right after Kang and Kodos that is!) Because of this I've always wanted to add this version of the devil into one of my countdowns, but... well you know how it goes! So imagine my surprise when I was handed this on a silver platter! I not only couldn't say no, I had to give him no less then a top billing spot -- not quite winning material, but damn near close!
