Background/History
After being reincarnated, I went to Eldridge Magic academy when I turned fifteen.
The day after, we were in class for critical magic studies and they started us learning summoning magic.
Most second year students can't summon much more than a mouse or other similar beast.
I tried casting the summoning spell, despite being a first year student, and succeeded.
I somehow managed to summon Linh Miêu of the long-tails.
The single most powerful beast that can be summoned and I refused to cancel the summons.
We spent the rest of that day with one another.
After school ended, I asked her if she could understand me.
"Do you know nothing about heavenly beasts?
We can speak any language."
Clenching my hands together and looking down, I barely got out what I did.
"I wish to tell you tha...."
"I love you too. I fell in love with you when I first saw you. I was also impressed with your raw power. It far exceeds my own.
I know. A heavenly beast and a human in love with one another.
I'm sure that it will cause problems for you."
"I don't care! I never want to leave you!
If we have to fight all of humanity, I'll stand by your side to our deaths!"
"I can only think of one group that will have a problem with us and that's the deciple's church of the gods."
"Those polytheists? Why them?"
"They worship me, even though I hate them and reject them for it.
There is only one God and his word is all that matters."
"What about Leviticus?"
"The old laws were fulfilled when Jesus died on the cross and I've heard no opposition to our union.
Right! I do suppose that the Holy Church of God may also try to intervene.
Those hypocrites always try to preach the old law in spite of what Jesus did."
She padded over to where I was on the grass and sat beside me.
Leaning against my shoulder, she said.
"All I want is to be happy and well looked after.
If you can do that, I'll fight alongside you without a summoning contract.
After all, I do intend to be your wife and, while it is my place to do as you say regardless, I'd rather be free to choose for myself."
"That's why I never intended to use the contract spell at all."
That night, at supper, my parents looked ill at ease.
"Look, son. We understand that you're excited about having summoned the long-tail white lynx, but why is there no contract seal on her neck?"
"We plan on marrying."
My father dropped his fork.
Laughter overtook him and he held his beer tankard high.
"Congratulations!"
"Dear! Surely you can't be in support of this!"
"Sweetheart. The first king was the child born of this exact situation, though his mother wasn't as powerful as Linh Miêu, here.
Our next ruler could be there kid."
"Wait! You're serious!?" I demanded.
"Well, yeah. The first king was half dragon. The long-tails are more than fifty times as powerful as the dragon matriarch. That being said, Lihn Miêu is fifty times that fifty.
I'm happy for you, son."
I looked at her with a whole new respect.
"Are you truly two thousand and five hundred times as strong as the dragon matriarch?"
"I am and I only hope that it doesn't bother you."
"Why would it bother me? We'll be able to live peacefully, no matter who comes after us.
Wait... earlier you said that...."
"Right. You are about twice as powerful as I am."
I passed out and that's all I could remember from that evening.
