Also, that vix has so many rings.

She only has one ring, it's her pendant necklace that shows a close-up.

the composition of the pendant seems to be three rings attached to a chain of linked rings by means of yet another ring.

the pendant may represent the vows, but it  looks to represent many vows. "I cannot read the language in the pendant."

but if it is merely one ring, and merely one representation of a promise,  i guess her power level is just different than mine. It takes a lot to bind some foxes (not really).

Oh!

I see!

It's been so long since I made this, that I forgot the meaning of that style pendant.

As to the Kanji in the pendant, it translates to "Human's wife" as a way of further telling other hopefulls that: "hey, I married a human and am not promiscuous like others of my kind.

You're partly right about the vows, as it's symbolic of a vow, a promise and an oath, sworn under God.

I was going to leave people guessing but, in my book that I based this on, a Catholic priest's son falls in love with Veronica Swift (pictured.)

In the societal placement, interspecies relationships, while not illegal, are heavily frowned upon.

Especially so by the Catholic Church and the morphs' Vuleian temple where they worship a vulpine deity called Vuléíâ.

Both escape persecution by their respective religious sects and, not only are they taken in by a very large family of mostly Marines in Alabama, they're defended and trained to fight to defend theirselves... Along with a surprise that they're not even aware of, at the time of this here scene.

On top of that, because of the family, the local Southern fundamental Baptist Church welcomes them, despite the protests of the congregation.

it is funny how hostile people are to southern baptists and simple folk in general.

I don't agree with groups being too large. You start getting things like the Southern Baptist Convention and their boycott of Disney, which was never going to work.

It sounds like a nice story. any reason why Alabama in particular instead of say, I don't know, Tennessee or Kentucky?

It was either heads: Alabama, or, Tails: Alaska.

Alabama, because my favorite southern pine is the Loblolly and Gulf Shores, AL is where my best friend is from.

Alaska, because I absolutely despise summer and love Winter. I also love winter storms, alpine forests and sitting in front of a fireplace with a cup of coffee mixed with hot cocoa.

i love autumn. It is every season. used to say "I like winter", but its been too cold for how I want to live. my mother put me onto coffee+hot cocoa. been trying to experiment with coffee lately, but hearing about working conditions for some of the farmers just feels kind of gross. There's a user on this site that has a coffee company, but haven't really spoken to them about their sourcing or whatever. Not time to interact like that. people get weird when you bring money into it. that's no way to live.

Used to think about moving to Alaska, just hibernate for a month or so, write some stuff in near total seclusion. there's the saying "It is great to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there" about places. i'd like to live there. for a time. on my own time.

===

Edit: dang did it again. wasn't paying attention and responded the wrong way.

It's quite alright.

I've been to North Idaho during a hard blizzard.

I camped out a little ways East of the Upper Priest Falls.

Seems like I was 2 hours North of Nordman.

I definitely want to live in a place like that and, yes, I am well aware of predatory animals.

Funny how quickly they run away when sprayed with skunk.

Idaho had the worst rest stops of any state i've been in, however that was quite some time ago and maybe have only been the particular ones.

don't know too much about it. Been thinking Nebraska or something like that eventually. it'd be quite some time. fun thoughts to hold on to. not chasing.

If you're going to experiment with coffee try ½ coffee with heavy cream and ½ Milo's sweet tea.

You won't be disappointed... Confused by the taste, but not disappointed.......

looks like there's a good reason to look in the tea section, then! thanks.

I'm from the Southern USA . I may hold equal contempt for hot weather as I do for cold water but I love sweet tea and coffee.

I tend to lose people when I tell them what milk I put in said coffee but, that's fine.

I'll keep it to myself.

"heavy cream" suffices.

i can feign ignorance and pretend to be in the know at the same time. currently living in 'the South'. most people I interact with are good, not hostile. Sometimes they're a bit miffed, but they don't realize they're all recovering addicts.

Oh, God! I'm grateful not to be a substance addict... Aside from the 4-7 gallons of milk I drink weekly...
I've lost too many of my friends and family to various sources....

I'm good.

some are addicted to caffeine.
some are addicted to sugar.
some are addicted to sleep.
some are addicted to praise.
they don't get what they 'need'. staying angry.
what they have isn't enough, always angry.
their thirst keeps them searching, keeps them fiending
maybe they just need a cup of cold water.
"But... but that's -boring-"
