Later years:
Throughout his experiences over the years in traveling to the western provinces of Genova, the young boy known as Tujo Musaki had advanced himself to a much higher caliber of swordsmanship, reflecting his visions of grandeur in becoming a true samurai. While he served no specific Daimyo or Shogun, he as a ronin had become a sort of hero and anti-hero in the eyes of the peasantry of both east and west. His past reticence and distant airs of demeanor were long since replaced by a confidence that bordered on arrogance. While perhaps not to the level of his overbearing father, it was a quality that made enemies and adversaries of those travelers on the road who saw value in taking up the sword. The defiance he displayed in the face of adversity was something that made him strong, and to the present day, was bolstered by a deepened sense of accomplishment.
On the morning that he was getting ready to leave his homeland of Teisujo again on a return trip to Ascarend, he could be seen on a trail of rocks right on the shore lines, staring off with a sense of satisfaction in his endeavors up to that point. While it was a morning like any other, Tujo could not help but feel that the sunrise was telling of greater things to come. And he was ready to meet the prospect of good fortune and prosperity, with the price of danger and uncertainty in tow.
Forward: I went for a brighter and simpler background this time around in contrast to the usual dark and depressive ones. Initially, it was a struggle to convey a more realistic looking sunrise. I just couldn't find a way to do it, and so had to fall back on a simpler approach. Ah well. The main focus of this picture was to convey Tujo (or rather, his medieval fantasy form) in a more confident and accomplished light. Hope you all like it.
