POPPLES: Kettle
All right so I've been teasing popples a while now, and I promise to do something with them providing the good Lord suffers me to live long enough to.

I've made six original popples not yet seen in my gallery (as of writing; I'm not counting Peaches and Pencil).
I also have some care bears and care popples I'll be revealing before too long.

In short, I've been drawing and drafting popples (focusing mostly on their hair and ears) and will soon have a batch of them ready for everyone (the last ones stuck to the pan, but I'll get it right this time)!

What I can share NOW are my (current) color schemes, names, and a bit of character insight about each of my popple OCs and a few of their friends. ^^

Ok, so let's look at our popples... "THEY ALL LOOK ALIKE!" I hear you say ...Well, that's because I drew only a single, generic popple to paint/model colors. Again, I'm still working on making my popples unique (so be patient!) D:

From the top left to right, our popples are:

1. Parry

Parry is a big red male popple, and is the leader of our group.
Parry is able to teleport across VERY short distances, such as from behind one piece of furniture to another. He can move through walls and locked doors in this way. :3
Parry has a sweet calming voice, though he is cunning and adept at wordplay and trickery. Parry is in love with Penny. :3

2. Penny

Penny is a big light brown female popple, and is co-leader of the group.
Penny likes shiny things and hunting for treasure.
Penny is a rare 'luck popple' (only especially good children can have them).
That said, Penny isn't in full control of the luck she brings (not all luck is good luck), so she's sparing with her magic.
Penny is in love with Parry---the two often appear together.

3. Panache

Panache is a mid-size white female popple. Although shown in the above illustration as a generic popple, Panache is actually a fruit popple (fruit popples have narrower heads with three 'stems/antenna' on top; smaller eyes and cat paws).
Panache can imitate any voice after hearing it once (though, unlike Puffball, she cannot throw it). Panache also has a knack for styling hair. :3

4. Pixel

Pixel is a mid-size, split-color male popple. Pixel has a fairly high IQ and can solve complicated puzzles, however he is given to distraction and sometimes laziness.
Pixel likes gadgets, too, though he's often better at taking them apart than in putting them back together (oof!).

5. Puddle

Puddle is a mid-size blue male popple. Like Panache, Puddle is a fruit popple.
Puddle can swim, sing, and is (otherwise) musically gifted (he was once the conductor of a frog chorus).
Puddle can temporarily change his shape to look like most any popple-sized object he wants, but only for as long as he can hold his breath.

6. Pepper

Pepper is a small yellow female popple. Pepper is quick-tempered (as redheads tend to be), but she can cook anything (her skill was learned; it's not popple magic)!
Pepper believes (perhaps wrongly) that boys don't belong in the kitchen, and she will (at times) defend it from the boy popples when she is cooking (though small, she can be quite intimidating).

Our popples call themselves 'The Giggle Six'. For those who don't know, a group of popples is called a giggle (i.e., 'a giggle of popples').

The Giggle Six belongs to an autistic, but well-behaved girl named Makaylee Travis, or 'Mak' for short.
Mak's father is a photographer for a world magazine, so Makaylee and her parents do a lot of traveling. Consequently, Mak is seldom able to settle in one place long enough to make friends (though she has a few pen pals). Mak's popples are, therefore, her best IRL friends. :3

Other friends of the popples:

1. Bones

The Giggle Six has a dog named Bones. Of course, Bones is no ordinary dog---in fact, Bones has been dead for many years (since Makaylee was a baby). That's right: Bones is a ghost! :O

In life, Bones belonged to Makaylee's father, and served as the faithful companion and protector of the Travis family (Bones died heroically in the line of duty ...but that's a story for another day).
As a ghost, Bones continues to look after the Travises as best he can.

Bones is able to understand popple-speak, but if Bones has something to say, he has to use charades to communicate (the popples can understand Bones well enough though Parry is the best interpreter).

Bones is completely and utterly harmless---he cannot hurt anyone in any way, though his apparition usually suffices to scare off intruders.

2. Tenacious Heart Popple (AKA, Pounce)

Pounce is a young care popple (half care bear, half popple) from Care-a-Lot.

Pounce is growing up and is on his way to becoming a full-fledge member of the Care Bear Family.
Unfortunately, Pounce's care-bear side is all he's ever known. Pounce has longed to meet some popples and (by extension) learn more about himself and his culture (and perhaps learn how to use his pouch).
Alas, popples are very rare, and popple magic often obscures them from care-bear observation (traditionally, there is some antipathy between care bears and popples, but that must also wait for another day).

By chance, Pounce happened to catch a glimpse of our popples during 'one last' fun trip to Earth before he was to get his tummy symbol and join the care bears proper.
Pounce discovered The Giggle Six with his friends: Razz, Lupin and Bic (more on these another day).

Pounce has blackish fur with white as his secondary color. Despite this drab color scheme, Pounce is as affable as most any other care cousin. Even so, he often lives up to his name 'Tenacious', sometimes to a fault.

Pounce mostly resembles a care bear, save for his puffy cheeks and heart-shaped ears and paws (he lacks the fluffy head-fur adorning most popples, and his tail is that of a care bear).
Pounce has a popple pouch he can tuck into, but he doesn't know how to pull objects from it.

Pounce is athletic and strong from exercise, but he doesn't seem to have any magical powers.

Anyway, most of my watchers stopped reading several paragraphs ago, and I have to return to drafting my popple and care bear OCs (as well get their story written---yes, I have a story planned for the far future).

Til then!
