Seems Gene and Co. are going to the movies. Our heroes must wait their turn in the ticket line as Mustard is ahead of them. Let's see what happens...
MUSTARD (to ticket fox): "One for 'A Star is Born, 2023', please"
MARIOGENE (to Mustard): "What movie is that?"
MUSTARD (dramatic): "It's a soul-crushing story of a gay couple who, at the risk of ruining their careers, decide to trans themselves. But their dream is cut short by the meanness of our society!"
MUSTARD: "Wanna watch with me? [whispering] (It's 13+, but just say it's for school)"
MARIOGENE (unsure): "Uh..."
1UPMUBBA (bouncing): "Let's a-go to the Mario movie instead!"
LUIGITASLI: "Yeah, thanks but we'd prefer to enjoy ourselves"
MUSTARD: "Pfft! Your loss!"
[long shot of Mustard in the theater by himself]
MUSTARD: "They don't know what they're missing"
...and they don't need to, Mustard. :3
This comic was based on this quote from Ben Shapiro, in reference to some proposed Hollywood remakes,
"A couple of woke gay people who have decided they need to trans themselves, but that's going to undermine their career; one of them commits suicide because of the meanness of American society" -Ben Shapiro
I drew this comic with a #3 'Sundance' pencil from The Blackfeet Indian Writing Company, and delineated it via a #2 WWII-era 'Western' pencil from Musgrave Pencil Co. I used Seashore to add the shading effect for the theater and to brighten the white areas. :3
Also, there are two 'Mustard' characters. The first is the feral version from the Timmy comics (Timmy version): https://inkbunny.net/s/2530887 The other is (of course) this one from Gene and Tasli. The two Mustards are not related, albeit both are considered as (temperate) enemies to the protagonists of their respective comics. The Gene and Tasli Mustard is yellow with a red t-shirt and white shorts. This refers to 'mustard, ketchup and mayo'. ^^
To answer questions I know are coming, yes: I like The Daily Wire, and no: I have not seen (nor do I intend to see) the Mario movie. ^^
As for my opinion on the recent epidemic of movie remakes and TV reboots (esp. of the woke/inclusive sort), I'm... mostly indifferent since I find most media (esp. the kind I have to pay to see) easy to ignore. Like, I'm not into super heroes or Star Wars, so there isn't much to ruin for me.
TL;DR: I don't like it, but I find it hard to care about (there are far greater issues than film and television).
Pencil...
The featured pencil is the 'Trend' from Mallard Pencil Co., selected because films such as the one Mustard is watching are certainly a thing that won't last long. :3
The new Mario movie is breaking world records in more ways than one. It's insane! I'm not a MAJOR Mario guy, but maybe sometime I'll watch it. Whether it's still in theaters or it comes out on TV, DVD or so on. I hear it's incredible. Clearly, if it's breaking records around the world lol

Wow I thought you left! Guess I'll start watching you again to get my fix of both Gene, Mustard and Talsi PLUS THE PENCIL which I've greatly missed!
As for the movie, seen the original and the later first remake. The others are eh, don't care to see the NetFlix version but might see SMB at some time. :)

I did leave, but couldn't commit to it---most weren't happy with the new art, so... it was either return or die. :(
There's this guy on eBay I met the other day who has around 500 LONG-FERRULED pencils, including about 50 different Eagles. Thousands of dollars, basically. Luckily, I caught him early---trying to see what all he has before he lists it. So far, I've managed to get a salesman sample from Federal Pencil Co (circa 1915) and a long-ferruled Christmas pencil. He has a Confederate-era Union-made pencil, but he wants A LOT of money for it, so ...I've been trying to work things out with him. :P

I think I paid $17 for the four of them, advertising King Midas Flour. Interestingly, the brand on the obverse is printed on with gold paint, but is stamped on the reverse side. They're like the Chero-Cola pencil, but without a ferrule (so not AS good, but pretty damn close). None were sharpened, so I cannot test them.
Also, I managed to get four on these ancient 'boxy' pencils from another seller who had no idea what
Those 'boxy' pencils look neat when you hold them close to the camera and you get the foreshortening. Like some kind of weird space ship or huge building. Shame none were sharpened but oh well. Can't wait to see what you get from that huge collection. :D

I tried to find a clip of just her saying that but none could be found but that pretty much says it all. (and you don't have to watch the rest of the show. :D)

I don't think any of them went back to the theater to find out, though they've probably been to the mermaid movie (I've not seen it, but I've seen clips).
And, yes, I'll say it now: I actually like the scuttlebutt song. I think it's a bit low-caliber for a major, theatrical Disney-princess movie, but I don't hate it like the internet wants me to. XD
